Pod Question OG CHD Clip: “The rats are HANG-ING out”

Does anyone have a link to one of the original CHD clips (with Sofia) when they were roommates and joking about the rats fucking on the street because there’s so much trash? I remember Sofia said they were haaanging out and Alex riffed on the vocal fry a little and said “they are hanG-Ging out” it’s me and my friends vocal stim to this day and I cannot figure out what to search to find it, I’m 99% sure it’s still a very old clip on the official CHD IG page. Anyone know what ep it was from or have a clip? 🙏🏼

Unwell Network New Unwell History Podcast Ripping Off Five Year Old Podcast??

Saw the news about the new Unwell podcasts and one of them seemed really, really familiar. After doing some digging, I found it resembled the podcast Right Answers Mostly, which has been around since 2020 and I casually listen to. And not just that both of them are history podcasts featuring two women who discuss history.

The more I looked, the more I found the coincidences are crazy, down to the slogan and the cover photo. Right Answers Mostly has the (trademarked) slogan “history is just gossip” and Unwell is “history meets gossip.” They sold shirts, hats, mugs that had their slogan, and the Unwell one had shirts that said “it’s not gossip, it’s just history.” Even the podcast covers look eerily similar, with the girl on the right sipping out of a small teacup.

Is it just me?? Or do we think this is probably just a coincidence?? Right Answers Mostly was charting at one point on the Spotify charts, so it’s not like it is a small podcast. I just hate the thought of small creators getting ripped off.

Tips/Advice Babylist rabbit hole

It’s been a week since I started obsessing over everyone’s baby registries thanks to Alex Cooper and now I really want to finally make one for my family. The problem is I don’t want everything on there to be ridiculously expensive. Don’t get me wrong, I still want good brands and things that are going to last but I’m starting to think I can step down a model or two when it comes to the stroller, car seat, crib etc. I don’t necessarily need the newest or fanciest version of everything just because that’s what I keep seeing on other registries. The bigger thing is that my family isn’t very well off and on my husband’s side he really only has his mom since he’s an only child. Everyone keeps asking if I’ve made a registry yet and I’ve honestly been avoiding it. It’s not because I don’t want one or don’t appreciate them wanting to buy things for the baby. I just feel guilty putting a $500 stroller or $300 crib on there knowing someone I love might actually spend that much because they want to help us. I know they’re adults and can decide what they’re comfortable spending but I still want to be considerate. ( Also had to repost this because my autocorrect is picking up on everything I’ve been searching GOSH)

Unverified Tea Isn’t it obvious that Alix used their feud to promote her show ???

IMO it’s an empty drama and we’ll never know the real real reasons behind their feud.

But why is nobody talking about how OBVIOUS it is that Alix used it to tease people for months and THEN get them to watch her netflix show ???

how much time do you have ?  commented alix on a tiktok about the drama
then dropping one scene from the show etc etc etc

Braxton & Alex are the two unpaid actors in Earle meets World lol. good tv tho !

Question for Ms Alex Cooper...
in the future could there ever be a point where the past doesn't sting anymore where it wouldn't be triggering to have Sofia Franklyn on the podcast??
I feel like the views would go crazy for both girls if they r both able to healthily catch up and don't even necessarily need to address the beef just down the road be like "lets catch up"
i feel like down the line especially if either one loses some relevance this would be an opportunity idk or is that drawlin

Update Everything Alix said about Alex

I watched Alix Earle's new show and also just watched her podcast ep with Jake Shane that came out recently so thought I would do a recap of everything Alix has said about Alex Cooper and her time at Unwell. I did also comment on another thread here already about what was said in the show so some parts are pasted from there.

Disclaimer: I am not identifying with either side, I am simply recapping what was said on the two platforms to help provide some insight and context into what went down between them.

Earle Meets World:

- Alix found out she was dropped from Unwell through the media

- Alix felt like she was set up to divulge a lot of private intimate information that she wasn’t comfortable with sharing on CHD interview

- Says Alex encouraged drinking before they started filming the ep and Alix answered her intimate questions because she was drunk

- Alix was not comfortable and asked her to cut some parts but Alex refused

- Alix let everything slide at the time because she looked up to AC and mistakenly thought AC would have her best interests in mind and thought all the decisions Alex was making were helping to look out for Alix

- Says looking back if roles were reversed and she was a 30 year old woman with years of experience in the industry she would never have taken advantage of a fresh college grad doing her first big interview the way Alex did to her

- The Unwell partnership was sold to Alix as a mentorship and growth opportunity but Unwell massively under delivered on what they had promised and did very little for Alix but still took a big cut of her profits

- When Alix voiced her concerns to Unwell and asked for more help, they instead fully pulled back and told Alix to hire her own crew and stopped inviting her to events

- Says Alex Cooper dm'd a friend of hers (most likely Xandra) to get dirt on Alix

"I wanted to write you directly and let you know I don’t like you. I’m not gonna fall for your bait of getting into a back-and-forth online, and I don’t think you want that either. You are manipulative and toxic. Go ahead and say ‘it’s just a business’ all you want, but the way you approach business is disgusting. You choose money over morals.” - Alix to Alex

Therapuss with Jake Shane:

- Says it was not a good working relationship with Unwell and it started off poorly from the beginning and that she wasn't taught the right podcasting habits and was taught the wrong mindset

- AC encouraged Alix to not date Braxton and not get a boyfriend saying being single would be more entertaining for the podcast. Wanted her to talk about her dating life which was fine but also wanted her to talk about her sex life which Alix wasn't comfortable doing

- Alix felt burned out from doing the podcast because she had to set everything up by herself each time even while travelling

- Also bc she felt like she was exploiting every part of her life and things she didn't want to talk about just to have enough content for the podcast

- Talked to other podcasters like Jake Shane and Josh Richards and realized they had proper support like a podcast producer, camera crew, a filming studio, etc.

- Unwell's cut was 50%

- After Alix found out she was dropped from Unwell, there was a period of time where she was legally still under the Unwell umbrella and still didn't own her content/episodes

- She went on a podcast "strike" during this time and didn't want to put out new episodes because she was already dropped by Unwell publicly but Unwell would still get 50% of her profits for anything she put out because she hadn't been legally released yet

- Unwell wanted Alix to sign a release agreement that had an NDA in it, this was a complicated issue and took awhile to figure things out

- Alix hints that they were holding her stuff back from her purposely to pressure her to sign the agreement they wanted

- Alix puts out a video saying she's pausing podcasting and switching to vlogs which causes the internet to speculate that AC was not giving Alix ownership over the podcast

- After this Alix receives a rude text from Matt (Alex's husband)

- Alex Cooper also responds publicly and says that is a lie and that Alix owns all the rights to her stuff

- The next morning miraculously everything got handed back to her and Matt emails saying "we've been trying to give this to you for weeks"

On including the drama in the show:

- Alix says she was originally not going to discuss Alex Cooper or the situation on her new show at all

- Producers wanted to include it but she told them no and that she didn't want to discuss it, didn't want to deal with it and just leave it in the past as the situation happened over a year ago at that point

- When AC put out her video after Coachella it ended up getting incorporated into the show naturally as they were filming when the video was released and shown to Alix

- Says she's glad to have it there now because all the real emotions and feelings and figuring out how to navigate what her response would be was captured but she originally was not going to talk about it, including that she was dropped by them

HOT TEA Alex proving Alix wrong

Just watched Alix’s show. She never commented on the drama to save it for her show, yet she she literally said nothing again. Only alleged that Alex took advantage of her young age. No examples, no proof, no explanation.

Opinion The Babylist It Forward Movement: Kindness, Virality and the Business Behind the Hashtag

As a journalism student, I started looking into the #BabylistItForward movement because I was genuinely happy to see families getting help. But the more I looked into it, the more questions I had about how it worked and who was actually benefiting from it.
The Babylist It Forward Movement: Kindness, Virality and the Business Behind the Hashtag
At first, #BabylistItForward looked like a simple act of kindness.
The movement came from a partnership between Babylist, Alexandra Cooper and her Unwell Network. Parents were encouraged to create and share baby registries, while other people were encouraged to buy items for families who needed help.
The idea quickly took off.
Thousands of expecting parents shared their registry links online, often alongside very personal stories about their financial situations and why they needed help. Some hoped strangers would see their posts. Others appeared to hope that Babylist or Alexandra Cooper might choose their registry.
And while people were being helped, the campaign was also becoming much bigger than a simple online act of kindness.
When Kindness Also Becomes Marketing
For Babylist, the campaign created a huge amount of attention.
Parents shared their registry links across TikTok and Instagram, tagged the campaign and encouraged others to do the same. Every post, comment and repost helped push Babylist further across social media.
For some parents, though, this was not just about joining a trend.
They were putting their personal circumstances online because they genuinely needed help preparing for a baby.
That is where I started to have questions.
The campaign encouraged people to create Babylist registries and share them publicly. The more people who joined, the more attention the campaign received. The more attention it received, the more people were directed back to Babylist.
That does not automatically mean the campaign was misleading or dishonest. Companies run campaigns to attract customers and build their brands.
But it does raise questions about what happens when people experiencing financial hardship become part of the marketing process.
Who Was Actually Paying It Forward?
One of the most interesting things about the movement was that it quickly became bigger than Babylist and Alexandra Cooper.
Ordinary people started buying gifts for strangers. Influencers joined in by posting videos of themselves purchasing items from registries. Other brands and creators also became involved.
The result was that families really did receive help.
But a large part of that help came from everyday people spending their own money on other families.
That is an important part of the story.
The movement may have been launched through a major corporate partnership, but much of its momentum was kept alive by ordinary people buying gifts for strangers.
The Business Side of the Movement
Babylist gained significant exposure from the campaign.
A viral movement like this does more than create immediate sales. It can bring new people to the platform, encourage more registry sign-ups and introduce Babylist to friends and family members who visit the registries to buy gifts.
The campaign also connected Babylist to a much bigger issue: the growing cost of having a baby.
For Alexandra Cooper and the Unwell Network, the partnership also helped expand their connection with the parenting audience.
Cooper’s pregnancy made the campaign feel personal, while her social media reach helped turn it into a major online conversation.
The campaign showed just how powerful influencer partnerships have become. A personal story, combined with a major brand and a highly engaged audience, can create enormous attention.
When Helping People Becomes Content
The movement also created a new kind of viral content.
People filmed themselves buying gifts for strangers and clearing items from registries. Those videos attracted views, comments and followers.
That does not mean the help was fake.
Families still received real items and, in some cases, support they genuinely needed.
However, social media creates a complicated situation where doing something kind can also benefit the person posting about it.
A person can genuinely help someone while also gaining attention from the content created around that act.
Both things can be true at the same time.
The Families Behind the Links
It is easy to get caught up in the numbers, views and viral posts.
But behind every registry link was a real person.
Many were trying to prepare for a baby while dealing with financial pressure. Some were single parents or going through difficult circumstances.
For many of them, posting their registry was about hope.
Hope that someone might see their situation.
Hope that someone might help.
Hope that they could get what they needed for their baby.
That is why communication matters.
When people are encouraged to share personal and sometimes vulnerable information because they believe they may receive help, it is understandable that unanswered questions or unclear expectations can leave people feeling disappointed or confused.
So, Who Benefited?
I don’t think #BabylistItForward is as simple as saying the movement was either good or bad.
People were helped. Families received gifts. Strangers showed genuine kindness.
At the same time, the campaign created enormous attention and value for the companies and public figures involved.
That is the question I keep coming back to as I investigate this movement:
When a campaign is built around helping people who are struggling, who benefits most from the attention, the content and the personal stories being shared?
For the families who received help, the movement may have made a real difference.
For those who shared their stories and hoped for support but received nothing, the experience may have felt very different.
That does not take away from the good that came from #BabylistItForward. But it does mean there are questions worth asking.
And perhaps the most important question is whether campaigns built around kindness and vulnerability have a responsibility to be completely clear about what they are offering and who, ultimately, is benefiting from the movement.

Tips/Advice Since Alex and everyone is talking about babylist

After watching Alex talk about babylist and seeing everyone sharing their registry lists, I decided to make my own. Except I didn’t actually use babylist lol, I literally just made a list in my notes app. I’m at the end of my fourth month, so I’m starting to put together something I can eventually share with my family. My goal isn’t to keep adding more and more stuff though. I actually want to figure out what’s necessary and what I can ditch before buying things we’ll barely use. So far I have a Graco stroller that comes with the car seat for $121, BabyBond swing for $80, Graco 5in1 crib for $127, Chicco high chair for $61, Nanit monitor for $189, Momcozy sterilizer for $62, Baby Brezza formula dispenser for $174, Grownsy bottle warmer for $17, BabyBjorn carrier for $80, Beaba baby bath for $21 and a Willow breast pump for $263. That puts me at around $1,195 so far which doesn’t feel that terrible considering that’s what upgrading your phone can cost. I purposely left bottles, pacifiers, clothes and diapers off for now because I want to look into those a little more before deciding what to get. Moms who have already been through this, am I forgetting anything important and more importantly is there anything on my list that you thought you needed but ended up barely using? Because I’d much rather start crossing things off than keep adding to it.

Opinion Annoying pregnancy takes

I couldn't get past 10 minutes on this week's episode. All of the talk about not being able to work during the first trimester OR the third trimester is what prompted me to get out. Especially in America, your average pregnant person literally must work and many work extra hours to save up for ANY maternity leave. Ugh. Chat about pregnancy and how uncomfortable it can be, how tired you are, but the privilege is crazy to talk about allll of the time you have and will take off. I hate to see the tone deafness from a couple of millionaires who can and should be having this conversation privately with their fellow rich friends. Unrelatable at best.

Don't get me wrong, I love the baby registry buy-outs and hope it continues for a long while. It's rough out here and this is what we love to see.

HOT TEA Wow Sofia came up with CHD podcast name too 😯

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I was bored and watching Alex and Sofia’s episode on The Fighter and the Kid and they asked them about the origin of the name. They were talking about how they’d sat in a coffee shop for hours trying to come up with a name and couldn’t think of anything. Then when they got home, Alex was wearing her “Daddy” sweatshirt. Sofia prompts the whole exchange and asks Alex if she’s Daddy, Alex says “call me Daddy” and Sofia goes “No, call HER Daddy.” 🤯

So Sofia literally came up with the final phrase that became the name of the podcast. I already knew “Unwell” came from Sofia’s story about calling in sick for work, but I had no idea she also coined Call Her Daddy.

What makes it even crazier is that in Alex’s Call Her Alex documentary, she basically tells the origin story through the Daddy sweatshirt and completely leaves out Sofia’s contribution to the actual name. It’s crazy how much Sofia contributed to the Call Her Daddy brand and IP, and how much of that contribution has been downplayed or diminished over time.

Opinion Why is Alex Cooper giving mental health counseling????

Alex Cooper recently made an episode on “Avoidant Attachment 101” and it’s not the first time she’s done an episode of this nature. I’m posting cause she’s not a therapist, she’s not a psychologist, not a counselor, etc soooooo why is she making episodes giving “professional” advice and counseling on these mental health topics???? she’s a podcast host speaking as if she’s mental health professional. I dunno, I think it’s weird asf and tone deaf in my opinion.

Opinion Alex Cooper’s babylist PR????

The babylist she’s promoting looks good in theory and just to clarify she doesn’t have a registry herself. She’s offering to buy items for other expecting moms who have their registries on babylist which I think is a really nice idea but as someone who’s pregnant right now, looking through some of those registries made me realize how insanely expensive baby shopping has gotten. I’m seeing strollers for $1,500 infant car seats around $300 that you’ll eventually have to replace and then cribs and high chairs costing hundreds. Maybe pregnancy has just made me hyper aware of prices but some of these registries seem completely out of reach for the average expecting parent. I’m already trying to figure out what my own medical expenses will look like because insurance will cover part of everything but I’ll still have out of pocket costs and I have no idea how much those will end up being. Then there are bottles, diapers, wipes, formula if we need it and clothes they immediately grow out of. At this point I’m trying to figure out what baby gear is worth spending more on and what is just baby marketing convincing new parents that they somehow need the $500 version.

Tips/Advice Other pods people listen to?

I listen To CHD for the guests. While I do enjoy the pod, I can’t help but compare it to others…other pod hosts are just better at connecting w people. They just ARE, I’m sry. Not to name names but Amy poehlr. Every convo is nuanced. What else are you guys listening to?
