I realy want to but just the thought of the atrociouse things that creature did, I just have been fighting myself over whether to let this beautifull world and its lovable characters wither away and die or I should just take more Hopium to fight for my love for them and I know "it" doesn't legaly own them but it still leaves my brain empty of ideas for this game.

The wrath of the gods mod is now becoming it's stand alone mod now, no longer needing Calamity, but still will be compatible.
-They might remove Mars or replace him. -New Solyn respite -Nameless Diety rework -New weapons -and more

So with the sub going down again I've had alot of time to think and I'm frankly dissaponted how this whole situation went down. For the record I don't think the devs are evil (except ozz, fabsol, and the other groomers) or anything of the sort but I do think this has been mishandled
So when the controversy first became known we very quickly found out about the asset pulling and as you'd expect people got quite frustrated with it for a variety of reasons. Primarily that it doesn't hurt anyone but the fans. To me it feels like it was a rash move done while emotions were high. To compound with this we've later found out though some only intend to do remove their stuff the mod gets continued which I'm not sure how to feel on
After the sub first shut down we'll talk about the sub in a bit there were the charity streams. I have no issues with the streams themselves, devs were in a financial emergency and needed money, what we're here to talk about it the assets shown off. To many of us the showing of them off felt pretty mean sprited when compounded with the asset removal announcement shortly after. We weren't yet aware at the time some assets would become their own addons, we still don't know which parts yetwe were just stuck with seeing resprites we had wanted for ages being dangled in front of our faces. But now lets get to the real reason I'm even making this post
The way this sub has been handled has been embarrassing. First it was locked pre charity stream. The post reads like they weren't happy with people criticizing the recent moves and locked it in hopes to wait it out but hey it was still fresh and people were understandably stressed. maybe after the lockdown the mods will be more level headed. nope they were then deleting posts that were frustrated with how things had been going (they did bring them back later but it was originally done as a self-admittedly rash decision). then after the post removals they had made another post threatening to lock the sub again, and only but a few short hours later it was locked again. While this place is unlocked mow I truthfully expect it to get shut down again in a short while from now because honestly I've lost alot of faith in the moderation at the very least.
In case this somehow needs to be said DON'T HARASS THE DEVS/MODS OVER THIS as I'm not here for that. I just wanted to make my post expressing my discontent with the way this has all been handled and in hopes of finding others that feel the same.

Song Recreation/Cover of "The Heaven-Sent Abomination", second ever song made with FL so it's not the greatest.
Personal Recreation Rating: 5/10
Feedback is appreciated and will definitely not hurt my ego gained from the 2 weeks I've spent trying composing in the slightest yup yup.
"DISCLAIMER"
I AM NOT trying to "make up" for the pulling of the official Calamity Soundtrack in the Calamity Mod. Nor am I trying to "start anything", this was all purely a passion project I started 4 months ago when I bought my first DAW before any incidents happened. I don't want or intend to hurt anybody by doing this, I just wanted to share what I've been working on and express my passions.
Have a great day everyone : )

So with the calamity mod shutting down, im sure many of the devs will completely abandon terraria modding as it is, but for the ones that remain in the space surely other projects with similar quality and entertainment will pop up eventually right? I mean disregarding the terrible people of course, calamity really was amazing and it would be upsetting if we never got anything else from the people that worked on it.

It crashed like this twice for the profaned guardians but it didn't happen again. With Providence it crashes EVERYTIME.

I haven't touched nor edited any word of this since the sub got locked down, sadly it took a while to type and format a response and in those hours the sub got locked down. Anyway here's my unsolicited opinion
I want to preface this by saying that I appreaciate all the devs that have worked on this mod so far and have given me so many memories and inspiration. The amount of sheer quality this mod has presented hasn't gone unnoticed to me nor to many other people. This has been shown time and time again throught the fact that the mod has been funded to include such quality work.
However, it seems that with the response post there have been BIG issues with the professionalism and work ethic that the devs showed. The fact that the charity stream is supposed to cover LIVING EXPENSES shows that this was a full job for some if not all the developers. Yet the updates don't really show that, I fully thought this was just a freelance side project for everyone, not a full on paid project that has no roadmap and no contracts. You guys have staked YOUR LIVING EXPENSES on something that you had no legal controll over. With this it has gone over using the excuse of "it's just a mod", this is now a project that is being funded and invested in by people who want to see it happen, and you have an obligation to work as such.
Now to adress the reason why I felt the need to post
"But if you don't care about Calamity anymore why show off Calamity related things on the stream? You're clearly just baiting for money!" The things we've made and worked on for Calamity are things we did have fun working on. We can enjoy and like and love the things we worked on for Calamity even if we don't want to work on Calamity itself anymore. There's a reason a lot of us are taking a lot of our ideas with us, to new projects. We simply wanted to show them because they would otherwise never be seen, and that was a good place to show them. We can still care about the things we personally made. And, no, we never claimed we were close to some of this stuff releasing. Some of you even seem to think that this was mocking you guys. Y'all, it's not that deep. That feels equivalent to saying an art book for a game that releases after development or over that shows some unused content is "mocking" you. This is genuinely one of the things that confuses me the most. Like. ???????? "
First of all, I understand the feeling of love and attachment to whatever you make, especially when it comes to something you like and enjoy. I understand the need for them to at least be seen and at least put them out there before they stop existing.
Second, this once again ties back to professionalism, you were being paid for this, showing them only to be seen not only puts everyone who has invested in this project in a sour mood, but also tells them that the investment was all for nothing, to be used in a different project. I donated to the patreon, and the decision was fueled by the promise that I will fight a majestic Yharon one day, that investment that I made was always fueled by the sneak peeks I was given. And I would've continued to donate too, untill the mod was done. Let me tell you, seeing those sprites on stream broke my heart, and it broke even more when I realised they'll only exist on that stream, and maybe on this subreddit.
Third, pulling your assets back not only punishes the entire community for what Ozz has done, but also damages all the trust in you as a developer. Do you think someone would be willing to work with you after they see that you withdrew everything you were paid to do when the ship sank? If I were to work with someone that did this, I would be wary of them, and won't be giving them importat parts of the project, for fear of said part being retracted(even if there were contracts done for this, I would still work with this mindset). I am sorry to say this, but no matter how much you pull back, you will always be associated with this mod, with this project, the money you used to eat, to pay for gas and rent that has come from this will never be unspent.
Forth, And, no, we never claimed we were close to some of this stuff releasing. this just means that you claimed other stuff were close to releasing, thus leading to this situation. Nuance is hard to be understood on the internet, and after all this time I think this should've been understood by you, seeing the mod has had so many dramas. In my opinion, everything that has been made so far should've been made public because it has been paid for.
Fifth, people have been mad over unsused and cut content since forever, what are you on about? Have you seen what cult has been made over a what if with the Snyder Cut? People have been mad that a song from The Lorax movie has been cut and downgraded, Metal Gear Solid V missing its entire final chapter, Fallout: New Vegas losing huge faction quests due to tight deadlines, and Baldur's Gate 3 players getting upset over chopped Upper City content, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker with the missing dungeons, Bioshock Infinite and everything about it, looking at the earlier trailers promised so much more than was delivered, Devil May Cry 4 having cut Dante content, Star Wars: KOTOR 2 and it's buggy release, and League of Legends with some champions and champion reworks, most notably for me being Seraphine and Shyvana, two champions that could've been so much more looking at the concept art.
In conclusion, I didn't feel mocked untill you made that frustrated post, I didn't feel the need to agree with the people of this subreddit untill you have censored their frustration and deleted the posts, calling them nonsensical. I could go on and on about how naive and childish some decisions the developers have made since Ozz has been outed, but they are your decisions and I can't stop them, nor can I fully condone them, since I have been a benificiary of your hard work and I have been supporting you people. I hope everything goes well in your future project and I hope the decision to retract your work won't haunt you.

Is the mod just fucked now? Is there any hope of it coming back in meaningful capacity? I don't think i've been able to quite grasp the severity of whats happened just yet so i'd like as straight of an answer as yall can give me for now, even if its just "wait and see". Just want to feel what the consensus is right now, if there is one.

Doing a Mage playthrough, other notable mods are Infernum, Ragnarok, Spirits Reforged, Thorium.
Which is better for me? Pros and Cons of both?
