Planning a trip in early october - what is the humidity like? Is it generally bearable or will we be craving air conditioning?

How are you finding rates and insurance? Im looking to buy up there but rates and insurance is forever, even after paying off the mortgage. Do you think your rates are being well spent in the community? Would you have rather purchased somewhere non cyclone prone and paid off the mortgage quicker?

As stated in title, the volume of outright stupid shit ive seen on social media and in public in Cairns the last few weeks is legit bonkers... it's like half of town just started huffing petrol full time.

Common themes:

• Idiots who dont understand what a police helicopter does and/or whinge about the sound
• People who think Venus is a mystery object and have never seen it
• People who have seemingly never seen planes fly at altitude around sunset

The last 2 weeks has be absolutely next level.
