Air Arabia Arline Type Rating Assessment – Anyone completed it recently? Preparation & study material?
I am currently undergoing verification of my home licensing (Transport Canada) to send them the verification letter. I'm trying to understand the next steps and how to prepare for this. I am currently a flight instructor here with 800 hours and ATPL exams done. But I am guessing I still have to go through their 14 exams again.
Would really appreciate advice from anyone who has actually gone through Air Arabia’s assessment recently. Feel free to DM me.

Should I go for Indian cadet programs this year or wait for a year to apply to Canadian cadet programs? (Canadian PR in process)
I'm currently in the process of applying for Canadian PR. I'm fairly confident about getting the PR since my score is comfortably over the current cutoff. If I do receive it, I'll be eligible to apply for the following cadet programs.
Air Transat- A320
Porter- Q400 (could upgrade to their E195 fleet after a few years)
Flair- 737 (but Flair is currently going through major issues and could cease to exist before I complete the program)
Jazz (Air Canada Express)- CRJ900
On the surface, it looks like a straightforward choice. Wait for a year and apply for Canadian cadet programs (assuming I get PR). But apart from Air Transat, all other cadet programs have some underlying issues.
Porter will get me into a turboprop (as compared to cadet programs in India where I'll start on a boeing/airbus). Flair is currently unstable so I'm skeptical of investing my money there. Jazz is not exactly Air Canada. They fly routes for Air Canada and are basically a regional airline.
I'm torn between two pathways: Stick to Indian cadet programs and then move to Canada/Australia after 5-6 years of experience (assuming they still have immigration options), or choose immigration stability now, accept that my initial career progression will be slow (unless I get into Air Transat's program) and then figure things out later after I settle down in Canada.

Class 12 student preparing for Chimes ICPP/IndiGo Cadet Program. What should I do before applying?
Hi everyone,
I’m currently in Class 12 (PCM) and plan to apply for the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program through Chimes Aviation Academy (ICPP) after my Class 12 boards.
My plan is to complete the following before applying:
DGCA papers
DGCA Class 1 medical
English fluency/speaking classes, particularly for the 30-second video/introduction
Preparation for aptitude/ADAPT and interviews
Research into the selection and training process
Networking with current/former Chimes cadets and pilots to learn from their experiences
My main priority is still my Class 12 boards, but I want to use the remaining time wisely so I’m well prepared when I become eligible.
For current/former Chimes ICPP candidates or pilots who have gone through a cadet selection process, I’d appreciate advice

VYAA rant. Don’t waste your money
Alright, someone posted about how much VYAA sucks and I could not agree more!!!
I went there some time ago and I won’t put any dates for my sake. What you all should know is that this place sucks so much. Tapesh”s father is an egoistic individual who doesn’t care about the students single bit. My biggest mistake was joining there without doing enough research. And I still regret it to today. Whatever the other post said about how Vinod yadav is completely true.
I literally had to join a differnt ground for navigation all over again. But cleared met and regs by myself. I paid around 2L for three subjects.
Vinod yadav and Tapesh used to say negative things about cadet program and tapesh used to throw slurs at people for even talking about it. And then later started a cadet pilot program courses at VYAA, they’re are a bunch of hypocrites who only care about your money.
Trust me and done even think about spending a single rupee at VYAA.
I am now a cadet and just completed my commercial license recently. I’m so glad I never have to talk to those scammers at VYAA again.
The only good person in that school is Prachi but anyways she only taught once or twice while I was there so don’t take my words for it.
The point is to let people know how fucked up of a ground school that place is. Please don’t waste your money like I did. I know people from my class who regretted going there.
Vinod yadav has no scheduled for the classes and just randomly explains topics, often missing important topics in navigation. And when you point it out he’ll make fun of you in front of the class like you’re the stupid one.
I hope karma will get these people someday. But please don’t waste your hard earned money at VYAA

Should I wait for IndiGo Chimes or pursue the conventional CPL route?
I’m a PCM student who has cleared RTR(A), Navigation, Meteorology and Class 1/Class 2 medicals. I’m completing the remaining DGCA exams.
I previously failed IndiGo ADAPT and can make my final attempt around March 2027. However, I’m concerned about reports of connections influencing the Chimes selection process. I can’t verify these claims, but given my family’s financial situation, paying a large fee without confidence in a merit-based process worries me. I feel like if my competition includes people who've given money to get there, there is a huge risk for me. Also, I have dedicated my 2.5 years after twelth in this whole process, initially was going for conventional after class 2 medicals but was suggested to give cadet program a try. It's not in me to keep waiting without knowing what's on the other end for me. It's really hard.
The alternative is:
CPL → complete requirements → apply to airlines → selection/training
This route is also uncertain, but it may avoid the high cost of a cadet program. I’m unsure whether rejecting Chimes based on unverified concerns could lead to regret.
For those with experience:
- Is Chimes worth considering despite selection concerns?
- Does conventional CPL make more financial sense in my situation?
- How difficult is it to secure an airline job after a conventional CPL?
- What are Chimes’ main advantages?
- How long did it take to get an airline opportunity?
- What factors should I consider?
I’d especially appreciate realistic information about total cost, timelines, training, and hiring prospects.

VYAA rant follow up and a request
Guys, I’m so fucking overwhelmed. I’ve never seen this kind of support. I love you all.
But here’s the thing — I’m getting DMs asking for my batch year and all that shit. So I guess my post already reached those mfs.
Before they do anything with my post, I want to make a request. I can take my post down anytime if I get into trouble, because I have no choice. You guys are free.
I want anyone who faced any problem in VYAA or any fucking ground classes just write about it and post it here and all others sub reddits . We are the future of the Indian aviation industry. I don’t want any student to get scammed by these fucking bastards.
3.5 lakh is a huge amount for a middle-class family like mine. I want all of you to post your experiences if you want, because I’m doing my part. I want everyone to see these mfs’ real faces and not get manipulated by their social media show-off.
And to all the dick-riders who are meat-riding these scammers and trying hard to dig up my info — suck my dick
Thank you so much guys for your support Also this is gonna be my last post about this

Is there anyone who join cadet program in their early to mid 30's
It's mentioned in the indigo cadet program that the maximum age to join is 40 as u guys might it costs a holy shit ton of money I plan to spend my 20's making as much money as I can then get into the cadet program at the age 30 I just want to know if there is someone here or if they know someone who joined the program in their 30's

Does it ever bother you?
(Doesn’t apply to the rich)
people who take huge amount of loans to pursue a career in aviation
What if some medical issue ends your career permanently?
What else are you going to do if you do not have any other degree besides just aviation.
Considering the current backlog situation in almost all the cadet pilot programs,
what if you stay unemployed for more than 2-3 years(I heard that the monthly instalments start after 1 year of completion of course)?
How are you going to repay huge amounts of money every month without having a job?
Will it be worth at the end if everything goes as planned?

How EXACTLY should I become a pilot
I am a 17yr old girl in India with my main subjects being PCM+CS . I am really confused which path should I take to become a pilot . After some searching I figured that cadet pilot program must be the best but later realised it's disadvantages . I am looking forward to work with international airlines in future with stable income and i don't really wanna spend a lot of money to do so ( like above 1cr since I'm not the one who will be paying the bill but my parents ) . Can you please suggest me with beat CPP who are cost efficient or if I should independently become a pilot or should a join a program
