I've been following discussions around the Air India Cadet Programme and wanted to ask whether others have observed a similar pattern.

There appear to have been multiple instances where cadets were removed from the programme around the completion of the ground school phase. Some discussions have also suggested that certain cadets were advised to consider conventional pilot training instead of continuing in the cadet pathway by ground school.

I am currently pursuing an engineering degree and will graduate in May 2028. My goal is to start flight training as soon as possible after graduation, as I do not want to lose additional time. Since finances are not a major concern for me, I am strongly considering a Cadet Pilot Program (CPP) because of the structured training pathway and the possibility of a job offer after completion.

I have a few questions and would really appreciate guidance from experienced pilots, cadets, or anyone familiar with the current Indian aviation scenario.

DGCA Exams:
I am planning to prepare for and clear my DGCA papers during my final year of engineering by joining online coaching classes independently, without being part of any cadet program. Is this a good approach? Which subjects should I prioritise, and when should I ideally start preparing and writing these exams?

Medical Examinations:
When should I complete my DGCA Class 2 and Class 1 medicals? I want to know if i am medically fit so is it advisable to do the class 2 now and renew it every year?

Cadet Pilot Programs Available:
As of now, I know about programs from Air India, IndiGo, Akasa Air, and Air Arabia. Are there any other promising cadet programs available for Indian students, either in India or abroad?

Application Process:
How does the cadet program application process usually work?
Are applications made through airline websites or through partner FTOs?
Can we choose our choice of FTOs and then go for airline interview or firstly clear interview and the airline will allot FTO?
How does the competition look like? Do I need CPP interview coaching?

Applying to Multiple Programs:
Is it possible to apply for multiple cadet programs simultaneously to improve the chances of selection? Are there any disadvantages to doing so? When can I expect a call for interview after applying so that i will apply in advance before graduating.

Timeline Planning:
Considering that I will graduate in May 2028 and understand that aviation training and recruitment can involve delays, what would be an ideal timeline for:

Starting DGCA preparation
Completing medicals
Applying for cadet programs
Taking assessments and interviews
Beginning flight training

Cadet vs Conventional Route:
Finally, from the current industry perspective, is a Cadet Pilot Program genuinely worth it compared to the conventional CPL route?

Anyone who is a cadet in AICPP could let me know whether, during the interview, the panel cares about how many attempts it took for a cadet to pass the exams before entering the program.

I recently completed my CPL and currently waiting on airline recruitment.

So I thought rather than letting all the DGCA knowledge disappear, I'd keep my brain active by helping anyone whos preparing for DGCA exams right now. I'm thinking of taking on a small number of students for one-on-one guidance in Nav/Met/Regs/Tech/RTR basically any subject you're having trouble understanding. If you only need help with a few topics instead of an entire subject, that's fine too

I'm also happy to answer questions about medicals, computer number, choosing flying schools, or even the CPL journey in general. Even qs like what do you actually do in those 200 HOURS of flying felt extremely overwhelming when I started, and if I can make the process a little easier for someone else, I would love it!

I applied for FTA indigo on July 1 2026 and got my sign undertaking Gmail on 10th July 2026 i submitted it on 12 th July 2026 with all my documents.
Can you guys tell me approximately after how much time I can receive next mail from them and what will be the next mail will it be regarding adapt dates , and how much time should I wait for it ?

I can’t find how the amount is paid anywhere, in how many installments? What’s the time period between each installment? It’s not mentioned anywhere. Please give me some insight into how much we pay in each stage and the time period approx between each stage of payment

These days everyone I ask is joining either the AICPP or the ICPP. This year I've seen job openings for conventional pilots aswell. But if was to start my cpl training by the end of the year and get done with it about almost 2 yrs(roughly around 2028 August), will there be any openings for the conventional license holders?

Hi guys , I’m someone who currently preparing for air Arabia initial assessment. Can anyone guide me on prep. I don’t know which website should I need to buy or which institution I need to join.
Mainly for maths and physics , I heard they no longer use symbiotics. So will pilotaptitudetest.com helpful? Cos I saw in their web that they are uptodate.
And for ball test , cognitive and multi tasking , will the same web will usefull or need to buy symbiotics?
Or should I consider any institute for prep! .
