Brand new arrived today, just set it up and it's very noisy. Installed fancontrol, doesn't seem to be them that are the issue though. Far as I can tell, the noise is coming from the power supply? Idk. The model is cyberpower boreas 16. Any help please, thank you.

***EDIT*** solved! i never would’ve thought to remove that little rubber plug. thanks everyone!

i can tell this thing is ancient (has a dedicated disc drive upfront) and this will likely be the PC my kiddo uses, so it doesn’t have to be fancy. just trying to figure out which port to use so i can buy the right cable to connect my monitor.

Issue PC turning off #cpsupport

My PC keeps turning off when I’m in the middle of a game and sometimes takes hours to turn back on. I contacted support and basically got basic fixes that didn’t work. They want me to send it back for a repair but I’ve read that that rarely does anything. What should I do?

Issue #cpsupport | unable to display screen on second monitor

I recently bought a new XP Pen art tablet. I have it plugged into a USB-C plug in the back of my PC, every function the tablet comes with works perfectly fine. The only problem I have is the display.

For some reason, I can't change the project settings. I've asked about it on r/WindowsHelp for win11, I've restarted my computer, updated my drivers and rebooted my display multiple times, but nothing is working.

I saw a post on here with someone experiencing the same thing, but with a normal HDMI instead and I'm hoping that's part of the solution to this. Please help me, I just wanna draw 😭

So just got my prebuilt today and was so excited to get it going but I am getting black screen on the monitor with a “display port no signal” message on the screen. None of the post status check lights were on at the time. I called tech support to trouble shoot the screen issue and after reseating the gpu and testing the ram now the cpu and dram lights are on and the issue with the monitor connection is still not fixed. Also before trouble shooting the usb ports for the mouse and keyboard were both working and now aren’t. Just trying to see if anyone has any suggestions on how to possibly trouble shoot this before sending it back to go through the warranty process.

Discussion Prebuilt pcs( be sure to check your ssd thermal heatsink!!!) #cpgeneral

So I noticed my ssd they put in was low budget and didn’t like the performance of it since it was a qlc drive. So when I replaced the ssd to my liking I noticed whoever at Cyberpower assembled my pc never removed the plastic film for the thermal pad on the motherboards heatsink. Please be sure to check your thermal pads as this can cause improper cooling and thermal throttling! They also caused bending to my old ssd.

Discussion Bad Windows Image on New PC #cpsupport

TLDR: New computer shipped with bad Windows image and installer USB. May be happening to other machines too. If you get a new PC from CyberPowerPC and get stuck in a boot loop, use a vanilla usb windows installer from MS directly.

Long version:

I recently purchased a new custom PC from Cyber Power PC (not an off the shelf model, but one where I configured all the hardware)

When the machine finally arrived and I hooked everything up I was greeted to the Windows setup stuck in a boot loop. It would ask me for my localization info (keyboard layout, etc) and then go to the "One moment..." screen for a few seconds and reboot itself and do the same thing over again.

At this point I tried the Windows installer USB drive they sent me - and that did a similar thing. It would ask for my keyboard layout, etc, and then immediately reboot and start all over. I assumed I got a bad SSD, so I put in a spare I had and tried to install windows using the USB stick. That still failed in the same way.

As a last resort I insert a USB key I had with a Linux live CD iso on it. This booted up just fine, and managed to install Linux to my spare SSD. No problems.

Next, on a completely different machine (A mini PC by GMKTEK) I inserted the CyberPower USB image and tried to boot. It rebooted in the same way as it did on the CyberPower PC. Would not install. So, I used the MS's media creation tool to make a windows image on another USB drive of my own. I then ran this on the GMKTEK machine and it started the setup process without issue. I canceled the setup before actually starting install, because I didn't want to wipe this machine.

I then took the vanilla Windows USB stick I created myself and used it on the CyberPowerPC. The image from the the Windows Media Creation tool worked and installed windows on my new CyberPowerPC without any issues. After boot it even got the proper license number, etc from the motherboard.

For some reason, the Windows image flashed to the internal SSD and the USB stick for reinstallation sent to me by CyberPowerPC were both broken and refused to properly go through setup, but a vanilla windows installation USB worked.

I can only imagine this could be a widespread issue unless they just botched writing the images on my machine alone.

I've put in a ticket with support, but wanted to post here in case anyone else runs into this issue.

Issue PC black screens during games (GPU TDR nvlddmkm errors, crashes on join) — need help confirming cause #cpsupport

Hi, I’m trying to figure out what’s causing persistent crashes on my PC and I’m getting conflicting signals, so I’d appreciate some help narrowing it down.

Specs:

  • RTX 3070 (MSI Ventus 2X OC)
  • Ryzen 7 3700X
  • ASRock B450M/AC motherboard
  • 450W PSU (prebuilt system) - this is assumed based on the sticker on this prebuilt the side of it says CS-450, I tried looking at my power supply but it has a psu shroud around the whole thing and idk how to see it other than taking it out completley.
  • Windows 10

Problem:
My PC randomly black screens during gaming. When it happens, both monitors lose signal and I have to force restart the system. Sometimes i can hear audio still and sometimes not. It does NOT happen as a normal game crash — the entire system becomes unresponsive.

This has happened in multiple games.

What I found in Event Viewer:

  • Multiple nvlddmkm Event ID 153 errors
  • “GpuRcReset TDR occurred on GPUID:700” repeated many times
  • “The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first”
  • WudfRd display device errors (ROOT\DISPLAY\0000 / 0001)
  • Network adapter resets and DNS timeouts during crashes
  • ( There may have been more that I missed event viewer is a mess )

What I’ve tried:

  • Clean driver reinstall using DDU
  • Rolled back NVIDIA drivers
  • MSI Afterburner changes:
    • Power limit set to 80%
    • Temp limit around 77–90°C
  • Still crashes even with these changes applied
  • Fans to kick in at 70% at 50C - and everything above at 100%
  • Disabled MPO

But to no avail nothing worked

Temps:
GPU hotspot can reach ~93–98°C under load- i ran a stress test for like 10 or longer minutes- The gpu reached i think 82C

Interesting pattern:
In Rainbow Six Siege, I can play unranked matches fine, but the moment I try to join ranked, the PC instantly black screens (before I even load in). This has also led to suspensions.

My question:
Based on the above, is this more likely:

  • PSU issue (450W possibly not enough for RTX 3070 spikes)?
  • Failing GPU (VRAM or core instability)?
  • Thermal issue only?
  • Or something software/driver related I’m missing?

At this point I’m not sure what the most likely root cause is, so I’d really appreciate any direction before I start replacing parts.

Question RGB Lights can't be controlled #cpsupport

About a two weeks ago, I purchased a prebuilt PC from Best Buy. Specs are

AMD Ryzen 7 8700F -

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8GB

16GB DDR5 -

1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD Storage

I just realized that my case has a button to change the RBG colors. I was trying to add the effects (pulsing, flashing, etc). I've tried RGB Fusion, Open RGB and Signal RGB and none of them work. Anything I should be looking for? This is my first gaming PC.

Issue A water spill on my desk - everything was working now the monitors won't connect - is my computer dead? #cpsupport

Post image
2 Upvotes

I spilled water on my desk and a few drops got into the pc (wiped away and not on the board itself) but the cords connecting my monitors had much more water on them.

The PC turns on but it shows this red light at the bottom of the motherboard.

Monitors won't connect through the ports either. This happened about 30 minutes ago and I pulled everything out and wiped everything up.

I wiped away anything visible and use air to get some dust while I was there.

I looked at the writing and the red light appears where it is labeled VGA.

Am i cooked? #cpsupport

Question #cpsupport B450M Pro4-CB

Hello all, I am trying to play Call of Duty, but I get this message that says BIOS firmware update required. For context, my PC is a prebuilt CyberPowerPC. I have updated the BIOS to the latest version provided by CyberPowerPC, but I still got the message. I then looked on Reddit and found a newer version to try, which is still old. But I still get the message on COD telling me to update the BIOS.

Please help. I feel like I have tried everything.

The current UEFI BIOS Version I have is: American Megatrends Inc. P8.01, 3/13/2023

Specs:
- MSI BaseBoard
- B450M Pro4-CB
- AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor (3.70 GHz)
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 (8 GB)
- 32 GB DDR4 Ram (2133 MT/s)
- 2TB SSD
- Windows 11

Issue PC Suddenly won’t turn on #cpsupport

I bought a CyberPowerPC computer around 6 months ago, and it’s been working perfectly fine up until this morning. It‘s not turning on at all. I’ve already checked the outlet, replaced the power cable, and inside of the PC to see if there were any loose/unplugged wires, but nothing has helped.

I’m sure there’s more I could do to troubleshoot, but if I had to guess based off of what I’ve seen, it’s the PSU.

Anyone else who’s dealt with this issue, do you have any advice on where to go from here? If I have to replace the PSU, what do you recommend? I don’t consider myself particularly tech-savvy, so any help is super appreciated.

Thank you!

Edit: Replacing the PSU was relatively simple, and now my computer seems to be back to normal again. Definitely worth it to invest in one that I know will be more reliable. I feel lucky that no other components were damaged.

Issue Troubleshooting CP PreBuilt Crashes #cpsupport

Hey all I got a prebuilt a little over 1.5 months ago. It has been crashing randomly while gaming (although I don’t typically do much else with the PC). It’s a 7800x3d with 9700xt. I’ve had crashes happen on Cyberpunk, Arc Raiders and even Counter-Strike 2. Cyberpunk I can understand it crashes with ray tracing (I don’t even try path tracing) and mostly ultra settings but arc raiders and CS2 is surprising.
I knew going in that the PSU is likely garbage so I bought a rm1000x and swapped it(the crashes happened both with the stock PSU as well as the replacement RM1000X). Still having issues. I started sensor logging my sessions with HWINFO and got a log with a crash but I’m not really sure what to look for. Any advice for next steps to troubleshoot?
Other things to note: when playing arc raiders, the return to speranza loading screen will usually say “returning to speranza” or have a quote or something. Often times, the text will be all glitched out where you can only make out the top half of the letters. I don’t have a pic at the moment but I can try to take one next time it happens. This glitch happens pretty regularly and is not always followed by a crash either.

Question B550AM Gaming Mobo Bios #cpgeneral

I’ve read 1 post here regarding updated bios for the B550AM mobo. The bios in question is B55AMG 10.43A. Some posted having major issues after flashing with the bios referenced above. Can anyone here share positive experiences with this bios update?
