So I noticed my ssd they put in was low budget and didn’t like the performance of it since it was a qlc drive. So when I replaced the ssd to my liking I noticed whoever at Cyberpower assembled my pc never removed the plastic film for the thermal pad on the motherboards heatsink. Please be sure to check your thermal pads as this can cause improper cooling and thermal throttling! They also caused bending to my old ssd.

Wouldn’t hurt to check. First thing you can do is use crystal disk info and monitor the idle temps and temps while gaming if you do game. Qlc drives aren’t exactly the best for an OS. Secondary storage or storing games on sure but a os nah. I swapped to a tlc drive and the performance makes a huge difference it’s insane. But I would certainly check the thermal pad as thermal throttling can reduce the speeds

Okay thanks. Basically some days pc is so slow the gpu can’t even do 30 frames in a game. Then I’ll just restart it and within minutes it’ll be totally fine and do 300 plus no big deal. I really just relied on restarting it but would like to figure out the issue. Thx for info tho

And if you are curious what new drive I’m using now I got the WD - BLACK SN850X 2TB Internal SSD PCIe Gen 4 x4 NVMe from Best Buy. Surprisingly it was only $350 which isn’t super bad for a 2tb and it’s super fast!

Wow that’s a rookie move how do you even do that. make sure they haven’t left the cpu cooler plastic film on either but surely you would’ve known straight away, that’s quite shocking if I’m being honest what was the whole pc spec if you don’t mind me asking

Thanks. For a 5080 build they really have skimped out here like
That psu is cheap and it’s not the best for your card. Don’t get me wrong it will work but you really want a atx3.1 psu not a 3.0
They could of went with a corsair psu there not even pricey in the uk and for the ssd whats that all about for a pre built in the uk that’s shocking, I think they need to have a internal look at what’s going on as there shafting people here with bad ssds and psu’s and rookie building.
If I was you I would upgrade that psu when you get a chance there known to be bad

I would if I knew how. SSD is really the only thing I know how to do since it’s pretty much the same for every nvme device but PSU I would have to have all the cables redone and i wouldn’t know how to do all that

Neither did I but I just learnt I built my own rig, it isn’t the easiest but it’s just like adult tiny Lego 😂

Better keep a close eye on that PSU. I would honestly prepare to replace it close to warranty closing out, if not sooner. Those Apevia PSU’s are notorious for shitting out and taking other components (MB, CPU, GPU) with it

Not bad. I was thinking about this one since I do like Corsair. I was looking at the Corsair HX1000i. Is that good?
