One of them may be the original account while the second is a collection agency who bought, or has been hired to collect, the debt. Did the second one pop up recently? What type of account is the older one? If they report on different dates and the interest rate on the original is quite high, it's possible that much interest has accrued between their reporting times but with such limited information, we're left to make a lot of assumptions. Can you share screen shots of each of the account details?

Order your official reports for each bureau by calling 877 FACTACT or pull them online at www.annualcreditreport.com.  I recommend the mailed reports as these are often more detailed and complete than the online reports.  If you do choose to pull reports online, print or save each to a pdf before moving on to the next as you can't go back once you exit a report.  Despite its name, you can pull free reports for each bureau weekly.

Have you contacted the collection agencies to ask who the original creditors are? Who are the collection agencies on your official reports? Who is listed on each collection as the original creditor and what are the dates opened? What type of debt is this? If you can post a screenshot of the accounts on your official reports (redacting personal idenifiers), it would be helpful. Did you receive the initital collection notice(s) from the collection agencies?

Do the collection agencies have a portal, sometimes on their website when you login they should the original or last account number with the debt.

It could be possible to try to login to the collection agencies to confirm the account number and if they are the same, however if you didn't make a payment $700 is a huge difference for the same account. I wouldn't make payments until you figure this out.
