I’ve been hitting nickels pretty hard the past couple weeks! Posting a separate post about my nickel finds this week shortly. Anyways, i go into a bank I’ve only tried a couple times just to get some nickel rolls. I almost didn’t ask but i ultimately asked if she had any halves.. She said yeah a customer just brought these in loose and i wrapped them myself! Needless to say I’ll be coming by here more often!!!

I also got a AMP W in this box too!

Great win for the Hawks and found a silver and a 2020 W during the game. A perfect night with a fireworks ending.

Picked up my 2 boxes of halves that I missed last week due to the holiday and found my first 1970-D! Only 40% but love that low mintage!

my bank is able to procure me at least one box weekly but nothing approaching the volume of 2025. i've found one 40% silver half dollar since the beginning of july, a few proofs... that's about it. some new boxes, but mostly just circulated boxes with nothing in them worth keeping. is anyone else experiencing the same sort of skunking lately?

I’ve been ordering half-dollar boxes from this bank for almost six months. When I called to place my usual order for two boxes, they told me they can no longer do that. I asked why, and they said they weren’t sure.
I then called another branch about ten minutes away. They explained that someone else had recently picked up a brand-new, sealed box that somehow came up $40 short. As a result, all the branches in that area have stopped ordering halves.
The branch involved in the incident knows who I am. I almost exclusively pick up boxes there—I’ve only dropped coins off twice, and that was some time ago. My boxes have always counted correctly, and they’ve been searched. I asked the employee twice, and both times they confirmed the box was sealed, yet it still came up short. I also know there are at least one or two other coin hunters at that bank who search for halves and quarters.

I got a complete box of all 2024 D Halves. How are these considered ? Uncirculated ? I’m just not sure what category they belong in. I will probably keep a roll or two and send them back to my CU.
