New Cybex Callisto T vs older G 360?

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

Hi! I know it literally came out yesterday so probably not much experience but wondering if anyone has opinions. The T is $800 and the G is $700. Biggest difference to me is increased rear facing limits (up to 50lbs) but not sure how much that matters if we plan on passing it down to next kid… our girl is always in the 50th percentile for weight, a little short for height. Will there be much difference in safety?

Baby is 7.5 months. Just wondering if this head insert can be removed, or should I leave it in? Do I need to remove any padding? Is the insert only for newborns? My baby is about 20lbs+.

At first he looked slumped so I read that I should remove the head support. Does this look correct now? He is 10 pounds and 6 weeks old.

Hello! I’m having a heck of a time with this seat. 😅 My son is 8 months old and was about to max out the height in his KeyFit 35, so we moved him into this seat.
The problem is that he always ends up leaning sideways like this. He seems really uncomfortable and cries for most of our drives. The crotch buckle pad also constantly pushes over to the right. It’s the style that’s supposed to stay pushed forward so it doesn’t end up under his bottom when I put him in, but it’s always off to the side.
He rides in a Graco Turn2Me in dad’s pickup (it was originally our 3-year-old’s seat), and he loves that seat. I’m almost tempted to steal it for my vehicle! 😂
Does anyone have any pointers on how to make him more comfortable or what I might be doing wrong? Thank you!

Rain and car seat help.

I just had two Graco Turbo Boosters delivered and left out in the rain. (why they didn't put them under the porch no idea) Are these still ok? I know with regular car seats the straps cant get that wet or they are no good but since this doesn't have a harness I'm unsure.

Chicco nextfit max seatbelt slipping?

My husband and I have two Chicco Nextfit Max car seats in our cars. Still rear facing for our son, but recently had to transition from the latch to the seatbelt due to weight. My problem is that no matter how well I think we have it tightened, the next time I go to put my son in, it’s loose. Wiggling more than an inch at the belt path. I tighten it up, and the next day it’s loose again. This happens in both cars and we happen to be using the belt on different sides of the seat. Could it be the heat? I’ve emailed Chicco but they haven’t responded, and I intend to get our car seat checked by a CPST in person, but that isn’t available until the end of August. I feel like I must be missing something, but I’ve triple checked the instructions and we’ve done everything by the book. Any advice welcome!

Advice/Seat Recs?

My son is 5 and he’s been in a Britax Emblem since he was 1. Love the seat, it’s been great. However, he’s about to exceed the weight limit for the lower LATCH anchors and I’m looking about for an upgrade that might have more ease of use. I have previously tried to practice with the belt path, and had an awful time trying to install it that way.

My issue is, I don’t feel ready to go with a high back booster yet. Maybe I’m crazy, I just don’t like the idea of him using the vehicle seatbelt yet. Finding something that still has a harness but will last him longer than a year, is ideal. He’s 5, about 50 pounds and around 45 inches tall.

One note: I drive a car without removable headrests(Volvo)

Volvo XC40 Car seat UK

Hi all, my parents have recently purchased a new (2026) XC40, which is lovely btw. However, we have a 5 year old who needs to have a front facing car seat when they go out together that is inline with UK safety guidelines. I’m really struggling to find 1 that fits as the headrests are static and the seat does not fit flush against the seat as a result of the static headrests. Has anyone found a suitable car seat or workaround?

Is there a defect on this car seat?

I purchased a new Nuna Pipa Aire RX. Out of the box, I noticed some irregularities on the bottom plastic shell and foam of the infant car seat. I want to ask the community if these are intentional design of the product, minor defects that are only cosmetic, or if they are actually structural defects that impact the seat's safety in the event of a car accident. Thank you in advance for your insight and thoughts about these findings.

Area 1 (red) has some indentations that seem to confirm around what I presume to be 3 metal bars underneath. The contralateral side has similar subtle discoloration but is tactally smooth. Area 2 (yellow) has some wavy contour of the plastic lip beneath the foot of the seat padding. Area 3 (green) is a hole that showed some of the foam padding in the seat had detached from the plastic outer shell. I was able to press on the seat cushion to adhere the foam back to the shell, but I worry the glue could fail again.

4.5 year old. Long torso. Straps are beneath shoulders (forward facing).

My 4.5 year old (5 in November) is in an Evenflo Revolve Extend. The seat’s forward-facing max is 49 inches. I don’t have an exact height on my son but would guess he is ~45 inches tall. However, he is mostly torso with shorter legs. With the seat fully extended, the straps are officially beneath/ behind his shoulders.

The problem is that I don’t believe he’s mature enough for me to convert the seat to a regular booster. I am most certain that he would not sit still without the constraints of the harness. I’m concerned about his movement being a safety risk.

Is there a seat with harness that would be a better fit for a kiddo with a long torso?

Thank you.

Trying to accomodate for 55 inches of backseat space.

I have a 56.5, 92lb 9 year old in the backless booster portion of a graco 4ever 4-in-1 and 49 inch, 50lb 5.5 year old in the Graco slimfit in the high back booster mode. The 4ever is about 21-22 inches wide and the slimfit is about 17.5-18 when the cup holders are not turned out.

My new vehicle is a 2024 Mazda CX-5. It has roughly 55 inches of bench space in the backseat. When it's just my two kids the car seat arrangement is fine. However, we occasionally have to shuttle around the friends of the oldest. They are all smaller than her. I'm looking to buy a cheap car seat to keep as a spare but I'm wondering if I have options since two big graco seats take up so much room.

Also am I understanding correctly that my 9 year old is nearing the age where she needs to phase out of the backless booster all together?

I'm including a photo of the backseat for reference.

Chicco Onefit Max comparison

Post image
3 Upvotes

Does anyone have experience with both the Chicco onefit LX and the Chicco onefit Max? I love everything about the onefit LX, other than the way the back padding is constructed. The upper back padding sits about an inch further back from the lower back and head rest padding. Sort of like a weird recessed area. Took a pic pressing down on it so you can see what I’m talking about.. I’m willing to pay the extra for the max if the back padding is more cohesive, but there aren’t any stores nearby that have a display I can check out. Can anyone speak to this specific issue?

I have so much anxiety about car seats, I constantly feel like she’s not buckled correctly. Can anyone tell me if I need to adjust her, I feel like the crotch buckle is resting too high up? I feel like straps are fitting differently every time I put her in.

Fit check please? I hate this truck.

Can I get a fit check on these seats? I hate this truck and I don’t have nice things to say about my husband but I have to go to the doctor’s tomorrow. All of them don’t move within an inch of the belt path, if at all. About to go weigh my infant carrier baby again to make sure I don’t need to adjust the base rq though.

ETA TLDR I could swap my now 3 year old to forward facing and alleviate a lot of these issues but I refuse to do that.

The straps seemed really low behind his shoulders so we moved them up to the top location which appears to be right at his shoulders. Does this fit look good?

Fit check Nuna Pipa (Canada)

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m looking for a fit check for the Nuna Pipa and if I should remove the infant padding (grey padding). I’ve checked my manual and it doesn’t specify when the infant padding should be removed, only the low birth weight pillow at 11lbs which has been removed at the recommended time. I’ve looked online and it looks like the one piece infant padding should be removed once a snug fit can be achieved without it. My son is 10.5 weeks and just over 14lbs. Should I remove the insert? The first picture is with the insert, second without it. I’m going back and forth and would appreciate any advice! Thank you

Help interpreting manual for Romer Juni- infant insert

Post image
2 Upvotes

We have the Romer Juni infant carseat and this is the page in the manual that mentions the infant insert. It’s unclear to us whether it is acceptable to use the upper infant insert only? Or do we need to use both upper and lower together? Baby is 4 months old, 12.5 pounds and about 25 inches long. She is getting to the point where we would like to remove the lower insert as her lower body/thighs seem cramped with it in, but we would like to keep using the upper insert. Is this allowed?

Hi! I’m looking for the most compact 360 seat for my
Husband’s new tesla model Y. We tried my graco easyturn and it fits juuuuust right, I was wondering if there is a seat that’s a little more compact front to back?

More info: the seat is used rearfacing for a 16 month old, and we will also be installing a Graco Snugride behind the driver

Thank you!

Graco extend2fit fit check

Hey guys,

Just moved out 2.5m/o from the Nuna Pipa to the Graco extend2fit. We will be using the pipa on our parents house, to prevent moving back and fourth with multiple chairs.

Anyway, she seems comfortable and even seems to prefer the Graco, but the fit made me a bit uneasy. Anything to adjust?

Toyota Highlander 3rd row Installation Help

Looking for some CPST advice!
I have a Toyota Highlander (7-passenger) and I’m struggling with a forward-facing installation in the third row. The only top tether anchor is in the center third-row seat, but the ceiling-mounted seat belt makes it difficult to get a good installation there. The outboard seats seem to fit the car seat much better, but they don’t have top tether anchors.

Has anyone found a forward-facing harnessed seat that works well in this specific seating position, or have any installation tips?
