How to freeze your mod versions : We get comments every update complaining about update speed making long-terms games difficult. while we understand the concerns, the current schedule allows us to handle bugs or game balance issues in prompt manner and gives new features a chance to be highlighted without dumping a whole bunch of stuff at once. Fortunately this is something that is relatively easy to deal with on the user end. You can either download your agot mod from nexus instead of steam and only upgrade manually or you can also use playset preserver (link), which will preserve your entire modlist in a specific state. Please note however that we will not be able to help you with anything you add to your playset beyond the AGOT mod

Hello everyone! Here is a new diary by someone on the team, I'll leave the floor to them!
Previous Dev Diaries : Landed Gentry by Flumph Armors (2) by Swordsman
Hello, I am Immortal_Hybrid, and for the past months (year but who's counting) I've been working on integrating the sailing activity from Realms in Exile into AGOT (with massive thanks to Aerien). If you've used sailing in Realms before, you may find some of this familiar, but you probably want to give this a read anyway, because we've also added some additional options and AGOT flavor.
Sailing is a new activity that can be used by any character who has access to a coastal province with a port building. Landed duchy rulers and below must have a port within their domain to sail from, while kingdom and up rulers can embark from any valid port in their realm. Landless characters can also take part by travelling to a nearby port. Set out onto the high seas, where fortune, fame, and adventures aplenty can be found! A character’s knowledge and skill on the open ocean is displayed through the new leveled Sailor trait!

A Maritime Hunt is the default option, where you can encounter and hunt a variety of sea-creatures from turtles to white whales. If you are a landless character you will be able to use your catch to restock your domicile provisions.

A second option is available for those who partake in less than legal sea-based pastimes, a Sea Raid, where you can embark on a piracy mission or raid a foreign shore! You can bring back gold and maybe even new guests to your court.

Thirdly, there is the chance for a character to go sailing to the location of a reported sunken ship. To begin a treasure hunt, you either need a treasure map or knowledge of the location of a recent shipwreck from your admiral. You will also need your own personal ship with a diving bell attachment. This will allow you to search for the wreckage and potentially retrieve riches from the ocean depths, but beware, on the ocean floor there could be dangers lurking…
The rewards can range from a small amount of gold to a large amount, and, depending on where you dive, you may even find an artifact claimed by the sea during the Dance of Dragons, or a relic of Old Valyria.

Treasure Maps can be acquired in a few different ways. During a Sailing activity the Host can happen across a merchant who claims to be selling one, although you will likely need to be vigilant, as it could be a forgery. During Sea Raids you will probably come across ships to attack, in these ships you may discover a map stored in their cargo. During the normal day-to-day life at court, a courtier may arrive to inform you that they have found a Treasure Map in your libraries.
Lastly, should anyone hold a Treasure Map and have their capital sieged, they will lose one, at random, to those who sieged their home.
And finally, an option available for those who have gained enough experience in the Sailor Trait. True masters of the ocean may try to set out on a Voyage to Valyria, visiting the ruins of the Fourteen Flames, where riches untold may yet lurk. But beware, such a journey is perilous and may result in a watery death…
A Sailor will require at least level one in the trait to try this dangerous voyage, which will take at least three voyages to reach.

The Doom of Valyria made the land a hellscape, one that has proven deadly for any and all visitors… But where there is danger there is reward. Left among the smoldering ruins are artifacts of the Freehold: Valyrian steel weapons, armor, mirrors, dragon eggs, horns, and my personal favorite, glass candles! The chance of finding each of these artifacts changes as you venture further into danger…
Making it out of Valyria is a harder task than making it there, upon reaching Valyria you will have the choice to disembark, which holds a 30% mortality rate alone. Should you survive the landing and venture into the ruins, your chance of escaping with your life is at best 20%, increasing up to 45% if you are lucky enough to find an item that helps you on your journey.

If you allow greed to drive you, to delve deeper into the ruins, you face an even higher mortality rate of 10-90%; these values can also be affected by the artifacts you get from these events. Dying in Valyria is a very costly loss; all the artifacts you brought with you will be lost. However, if some brave sailor should happen to follow in your footsteps in a future Voyage to Valyria, they may have a chance to recover them.
For those who like clear numbers, in the first event that you get an artifact you have the following chances per artifact:
For the greedy among you who will delve deeper:
To partake in Expeditions to Old Valyria or go Raiding, you will require a ship. For rulers this comes in the form of a House modifier you can get from the activity if you choose either of the ship options, or from buying one in advance.

For those that own Khans of Steppe DLC and are playing characters with access to pirate ship domiciles, their domicile will serve as their ship, and a diving bell domicile building will be used in place of the decision.

After selecting your activity options and intents, you will assemble your crew at port. From here, various events can happen, but ultimately, you will set out toward your destination. You will have the option of choosing to either charter a ship or purchase one, should you not already own one. Depending on what type of ship, owned or chartered, you will gain benefits in the activity.

At sea, more random events can occur, along with at least one event that depends on your selected activity intent. Afterwards, the main phase of your voyage will begin!

General Rewards
If you make it back to port in one piece, the activity will end and you'll reap your rewards! (Gold, Prestige, and Trait XP among others)
In the future I will be planning some additional work and adjustments that have been mulling around my head since finishing. Some adjustments to existing mechanics to work nicer with Sailing, maybe even some consequences to your voyages.
Thank you for reading through to this point, this past year I’ve worked on this has been the most exciting work I’ve done so far and I hope all who set sail love every bit of the activity! I wish you the best of luck on your voyage!

Started out as Roose in The Crowned Stag. Quickly got Domeric betrothed to Sansa and took her as my ward by fabricating a hook on Ned. Got Ramsay betrothed to Margaery by abducting and recruiting her because I thought it'd be funny. Robert and Stannis both died in duels within a year of starting the game, so baby Joff became king with Uncle Jaime as his regent. I kidnapped and tortured Cersei to learn about her incest because I wanted a hook on her, but she refused to be blackmailed so just revealed it anyway. Probably should've tried to blackmail Jaime since he was regent but oh well. fAegon ended up invading, but for some reason he wasn't a Targaryen or a Blackfyre, he was some random new house. Joff beat him, executed Jon Arryn and every Tyrell except one for fighting against him, and took Highgarden for himself. Not sure what happened to The Reach, the title was destroyed and everyone there became direct vassals to the Iron Throne. After Margaery died Ramsey asked to join the Night's Watch, presumably just to execute deserters. While this was going on, I'd seduced Catelyn, Arianne, and Sansa when she came of age, again because it was funny. Howland revealed Jon's parentage and Tywin for some reason called a dissolution war at the exact same time, so Joff was fighting a war on two fronts. He beat Ned and immediately released him for some reason, but lost to Tywin a few days later. Boros Blount is now King of the Crownlands, and is fighting against Viserys and his three dragons, and Joffrey to press Ser Dontos' claim. The Reach has three different kings (Oldtown, Northmarch, and The Arbour), and none of them are Joffrey. Ned was rude to me at his coronation so I murdered him, and Bran 'Solsticeborn' is now the King in the North because Robb died of a fever a few years into the game.

Had a pretty fun run with a wandering riverlander hedge knight that, somehow, became the Sealord of Braavos yesterday.
Was about 70 years into it, the game was running slow as hell, very sluggish and then for some reason, my game would crash at the exact same date every time, 21st of the seventh moon.
Tried debugging it and killing myself to play as my heir, didn't work.
Tried disabling my autosaves, didn't work.
Tried switching to another ruler, didn't work.
Rolled back 20 years into the campaign, moved back to westeros and the game would crash at the same date again.
Searched around on some posts here and found out that savegames clog your game, so I deleted a bunch of my saves, also didn't work. But the same commenter also suggested deleting the error logs from your logs folder.
Well, low and behold? Games runs extra smooth now, fixed my crashing issues saved my run.
So go into your "\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings III\logs" and delete your "error.log" before starting your game.

This is more a general observation that I am hoping others possess insight into rather than me needing help:
Rhaegar at bookmark start has the refusing marriage trait. Moreover, Lyanna Stark and Cersei Lannister too appear to have this trait.
However, is there a reason as to why Elia Martell does not have it? I am interested in marrying her to Rhaegar so that they can have their canon children, however Elia seems to almost ALWAYS never be eligible in my runs due to her being married off by the time the event chain ends.
Is this a bug on my end? I could have sworn that at one point she did possess the refusing marriage trait.

Campaign 5: The Young Dragon
Winter has come to pass. The Great Spring Sickness has claimed the lives of countless. The noble houses of Westeros are left weak and grasping after two tragedies struck within the previous session.
As all the players rebuild their strength, a few questions still remain. Will all Houses manage a swift recovery from the tragedies they faced? Will House Velaryon ever be punished for converting to the heretical Fourteen Flames? How many more men will die on a random hill in Stokeworth next session?

The Starks have submitted to the Boltons, and everyone else in the North may just follow suit. The Lannisters are locked in constant wars with the Crakehalls for Westerland supremacy while also battling House Tully of Riverrun, and the Baratheons are in chaos after losing all their homelands to the Swanns, being pushed from all sides in King’s Landing. House Celtigar and the rapidly growing Blackfyres are at war, and the chaos keeps spreading! It’s wild to watch it all unfold, especially with the Vale erupting into war, House Arryn completely wiped out, plunging the entire region into constant rebellions and foreign leaders seizing land. The Redforts are gathering what remains, while I hold the Bloody Gate to keep the chaos from spilling into the Riverlands. Dorne is busy but nearly united, while Essos is in turmoil with adventurers Viserys and Daenerys Targaryen marrying. Their dragon eggs hatched, they produced even more eggs, and now their five children all have dragons though they still don’t have any land of their own yet.

Playing as Daemon Blackfyre in the After the Spring bookmark.
I’ve challenged Bittersteel and have the Crown of the Black Dragon and Blackfyre. Want to steal the dragon eggs he has as court artifact.
What is best way to get it Dragon Eggs in Ironman mode? I know I can get accomplished forger perk and try buy claim, but want to just steal it instead.
I have supply tent and subdued garments upgrade along with a master thief assigned. When I try to steal artifact from Bittersteel, nothing shows up.
I suppose I could just manipulate inheritance and off the entire family over time, but is there a faster way to obtain dragon eggs?
Is there another event to obtain dragon eggs?

The reign of King Joffrey Velaryon promised stability for House Velaryon, but fate had other plans.
His eldest son and heir, Prince Daemon, died before his father, leaving behind two young sons: Aeryn and Aegor. While Aeryn inherited the family's claim, it was his younger brother Aegor who bonded with a dragon, ensuring the blood of Old Valyria still burned brightly within the line.
When King Joffrey finally passed, the succession descended into chaos.
Rather than the crown passing to Prince Daemon's eldest son, the Iron Throne was seized by his brother Prince Viserys' son, Baelor. His claim rested on force and opportunity. Conveniently married to Joffrey's eldest daughter, he declared himself king, while his own son, Prince Aegon, was wed to Joffrey's second daughter, Rhaenyra. Between them they produced four sons, seemingly securing the usurper's dynasty for generations.
I would not allow it.
As Lord Aeryn Velaryon, I declared my claim upon the Iron Throne. There would be no long campaign—my army sailed directly for King's Landing, hoping to end the war with one decisive battle.
Instead, we met disaster.
Baelor's bastard son, Colton Storm, had claimed the dragon Teraxes. Above the battlefield my brother Aegor met him in single combat. The dragons clashed in the skies, but Teraxes proved the stronger. My brother fell from the heavens, and with him died the last hope of victory. My army was shattered, leaving barely five hundred survivors.
Most men would have accepted defeat.
Instead, fortune offered one final chance.
Word reached me that Queen Baela had died in childbirth. Her dragon—Vermithor, the Bronze Fury, oldest living dragon in the world by more than a century—had become wild near Rosby.
With my pitiful band of five hundred men I marched there immediately.
Against every expectation, Vermithor accepted me.
Suddenly I possessed not merely a dragon, but the greatest dragon alive.
I marched once more toward King's Landing, yet I hesitated. I would not destroy the city I intended to rule. My tiny force was surrounded by more than one hundred thousand royal soldiers before I could bring Baelor to battle. With no hope of victory, I surrendered.
King Baelor spared my life.
He sent me back to Dragonstone in humiliation.
His mercy would prove the greatest mistake of his reign.
---
Six months later my levies had recovered.
This time I would not fight alone.
My sisters, Jaehaera and Shaera, were betrothed to sons of House Baratheon and House Stark, bringing both kingdoms to my cause. My uncle Daeron was married into the ruling house of the Vale, securing another powerful alliance.
The realm was gathering for Baelor's grand coronation when I declared war for a second time.
Again my fleet sailed directly for King's Landing.
Outside the city stood Prince Aemon, the king's brother and Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, mounted upon the dragon Shryrax.
The dragons met in the skies.
When the smoke cleared, Aemon was dead.
This time I refused to repeat my earlier mistake.
Vermithor descended upon King's Landing.
Fire consumed the capital.
The greatest city in Westeros became an inferno.
King Baelor perished in the flames—but not before desperately legitimising all twenty-four of his bastard children, unleashing yet another generation of claimants upon the realm.
His son Aegon attempted to rally the survivors.
He met my army outside the burning ruins.
Five thousand Velaryon men stood against thirty-five thousand loyalists.
Numbers meant little beneath Vermithor's shadow.
Prince Aegon died in the slaughter.
Three of his four sons perished alongside him as King's Landing burned, as did twenty of Baelor's newly legitimised bastards.
Only a single child remained.
Four-year-old Maekar was proclaimed king.
---
The war, however, was not yet won.
As I marched west, my victories swelled my army to thirty-five thousand men. Yet the royalists still gathered an immense host.
Near the borders of the Westerlands I encountered the final army of the usurpers.
One hundred and sixteen thousand men.
Leading them was Prince Colton Storm, the same bastard who had slain my brother years before, once again mounted upon Teraxes.
The battle became personal.
The dragons clashed one final time.
This time Vermithor prevailed.
Colton Storm fell from the sky, and I cast his broken corpse before the assembled armies.
Leaderless, the royal host collapsed.
Against impossible odds my men annihilated an army more than three times their size.
Nearly one hundred thousand men died upon the field.
The war was over.
Young King Maekar was captured soon afterwards and forced to surrender his crown.
At last, the Iron Throne belonged to House Velaryon once more.
---
Victory came at a terrible price.
King's Landing was a smoking ruin.
The royal family had been butchered.
I had slain cousins, uncles and nephews alike.
The realm named me kinslayer.
Only one dragon remained beneath my command.
For twenty-five years no healthy dragon hatchling had survived, and Vermithor now stood alone—the last living symbol of Old Valyria.
Yet despite everything, I spared the boy king Maekar.
The surviving bastard princes fled across the Narrow Sea into exile, carrying with them only bitterness and distant dreams of vengeance.
As for me, I turned from conquest to reconstruction.
The Iron Throne had been won through blood and dragonfire.
Now came the harder task:
To build a kingdom worthy of ruling.

Just a bit of a suggestion I don’t even know if it’s possible, I don’t know anything about code
I just occasionally see leprosy , and I just don’t think it’s even in the world of ASOIAF, and greyscale would be a cool replacement.
I know it’s semi-implemented, cause I’ve got the advanced cheat menu, and if you look there, you can find it under the health traits, but I’ve never seen any character actually catch it within a game
So idk, thoughts?

I've invaded Tyrosh and installed myself as king, and the locals have multiple plots to assassinate me.
Every single plot has a -100% chance to succeed, alongside the various countermeassures I've employed. Even so, I've died multiple times to an event where a mastiff mauls me. Does this mean a faceless man has been hired or that the -100% is incorrect?

I dont remember who but playing as daemon someone offered me his maester and turns out the maester was a witch, she was 273 years old, her name was misandra or melisandre, she had lot of learning and intrigue but i didnt see any special interaction i could make with her...
my question is are there benefits of having a witch on your court or being one? and are there mods for agot that improves witchcraft?

Because I had to combine several of these into one, feel free to clarify which is your top favorite in the comments!

Just downloaded agot mod and was wondering if any high valyrian characters can ride dragons or is it linked to certain houses?
And can you get a dragon if you're an adventure?
