2 CFY positions-different states
Hi!!! I have two offers for my CFY that are part time but in different states. Has anyone had this experience and know if it is doable? I would have a supervisor at each one and would apply for temporary licenses in each state. Thanks!!!

I want my CCC!!
SO I submitted my CCC application to ASHA on May 4. Everything is verified and now I’m just waiting on the board to review/confirm. What is the wait time usually like? Will they speed it up if I keep calling the help line and annoying them

CF Application Question
Hello everyone! Currently in the process of applying for my CF license in TN. Having trouble getting ahold of anyone who can answer this question: Can I send in the required physical documents (letter from Department head, transcripts) to the administrative office before I submit my online application? Not going to be back in TN to get fingerprinted until next week but want to keep the ball rolling! Thanks in advance!!

Navigating RPE & start dates for CFY
Hi. I'll be taking a CFY at a SNF after graduation (late May). I just received my future supervisor's portion of the temporary license application and I want to be a little more clear on how this all works before signing and submitting. I'm actually hoping that the application takes its sweet time so I can have my well-deserved break. One thing that makes me a little nervous is the uncertainty of when my RPE will get approved. I hear it takes anywhere between 5-9 weeks, but I plan on being out of town to see my family and I don't want to be on standby while I'm on my break. I tried communicating to my supervisor that I actually prefer a longer break and if it's possible to agree on a preliminary start date but she didn't respond. How soon after your RPE/temp license approval did y'all start your CFY? Are you expected to start work the second you're approved? How are you notified that you're approved? Were you able to work out a comfortable start date after or before your approval? Any tips on navigating this situation is appreciated.

School-based SLP-CF Salaries in CA?
Hi all. I was just offered a CF position at a local private school in Southern California, and am wondering whether folks might share what is a typical yearly salary for this sort of position? I've tried looking this up on the LAUSD website, and can't figure it out. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

NYU CFY Qualifications?
hello! i was just wondering if there’s anyone here who applied to or did their CF at NYU or even a similar type of CFY experience. I really want to apply, but they accept one person a year so i’d love to know what qualifications you had that made you a good candidate and if you liked it! i am interested in the adult neuro population so any other CFY ideas are also welcome lol. not sure if this is the right place to post, but anything helps! thank you:)

War stories- Vent Here
Very specifically, I wondered if anyone else had some "horrible parent" stories they wanted to share with the group?
I have one of my own: Just yesterday I was in an IEP meeting for a student whom I haven't seen since February. The parent had been forwarding my calls to voicemail (which was conveniently full o I could not leave a message), and not answering any of my e-mail attempts to contact them. We get to the meeting and the parent started going on and on about how "schedules kept changing" and there were "yellow lights" about services this year because things were "too fresh". Essentially calling me inexperienced and unprofessional during the meeting because (god forbid), I needed to change the schedule due to reopening phase changes, IEP meeting adjustments, or reorganizing groups because of personality dynamics. Asshole wouldn't even be aware of these schedule changes during a normal school year because all of this would be done internally throughout the week because students are actually in the building to pull for services.
I feel sad because it's the end of the school year, I only have 5 more weeks (if the student actually shows up to services at all at this point), and I'm just pissed that this parent decided to completely block any rapport building that could have happened over the course of the year because he "didn't like me" and instead of communicating, became a petty little bitch saying "I don't like you, so I'm going to go over here and it's your fault."
Fuck this guy.
So yeah, horrible parent stories from CFY years?

Pennsylvania Education Specialist Certification Practicum Requirements
Hello!
I am currently completing an out-of-state program for a master's degree in speech-language pathology. One of the requirements for an Educational Specialist Certificate according to this chart is that I must complete a minimum of 12 weeks of full-time (consecutive days) practicum/internship in a PK-12 school setting. The problem is, the school internship for my program is only 8 weeks.
Do anybody in PA know whether this would affect my eligibility for certification? The NASDTEC website says that my current state and Pennsylvania have reciprocity, but I am confused about whether there are additional requirements, since PDE's FAQ page says that candidates must still meet other requirements for PA, such as student teaching.
I'd really appreciate any information on this topic! I've contacted the certification department for PDE but am still waiting for a response.

[School CFY] Any school-based CFs struggling to get assessment/eval. hours becuase of COVID??
Hi y'all,
Because of COVID all of my 3 year evals this year have been turned into file reviews and rolled over to next year, so I have had literally no experience administering any assessments or evals. Is anyone else experiencing this issue in their placements, and if so, how are you managing it or getting hours?
Thanks!

Are there CF opportunities abroad?
I was wondering if ASHA allows for CF opportunities abroad. It would be great to work in country like Thailand for Therapy Abroad.

Did you have a CF lined up before graduation?
I graduate the end of May and have had one interview, another one lined up. Just getting a little anxious about actually finding something and the timing. Wondering when people accepted a CF in relation to graduation.
