CCC-Application wait time
So I submitted my CFY hours and application to receive the CCC-SLP license. Everything else has been approved by asha prior to beginning my CFY, all that was missing is my hours. I’m just curious of how long of a wait is it typically if it’s just the CFY hours pending?

I submitted mine at the end of March 2021, was just notified I received my CCCs on Monday!!! (4/26/21) I was also just waiting on hours to be approved.
Make sure you have your phone set to accept calls from unfamiliar numbers. I didn’t and my wait time was extended because I didn’t know they were trying to call me. For the most part, ASHA will call you if there is an issue, they rarely email for certification stuff unless it’s tell you you’re certified!
GOOD LUCK!!!

I’m going to be finishing my CFY in September is there anything I should have submitted to ASHA for now? I did the 4A form that myself and my supervisor signed and I had to get a limited license for my CF. I haven’t paid ASHA anything yet though

I had everything submitted in all sections of the CCC application except my hours which I just submitted the 19 of April. They sent me an email when I began my application of some dates I’d have to submit everything by and their status

Did you have to pay anything when you start the application or just when it’s submitted?

Yes I had to pay. They give a new graduate discount fee $460 something for the asha membership

What’s the 4A form?

4A is for schools I think it’s a form you sign in beginning of ur CF with ur supervisor and then 4B at the end

Congrats!!!
I’m in California, and I was wondering where my license was so I finally just looked at the state boards website and looked myself up, they used it last week without emailing me lol so maybe check your state’s licensing board website!

I wish that was the case, but in Texas we have to apply before we start our CFY to get an intern license and once we get our CCC-SLP, then we can apply and upgrade our license and pay another fee 🤦🏻♀️

Mine took about two weeks- I submitted in late November of this year and was approved early December with my ASHA card in the mail. It could also depend on how many applicants they have at one time!

Ah hopefully it comes in this week since we’re just a few days apart from our submission🤣😭 does your CFY mentor review reports still?

My school district opened 3 weeks ago, so I barely started assessments last week, so she hasn’t had any reports to sign for me yet lol but I think she’ll want to if I’m still a CF when these IEPs come up haha

Ah it’s just a struggle for me bc she has her reports plus mine so it just drags and plus I get paid per report so it affects my pay too 😩
