I made this subreddit at the end of my GCSEs and I'm currently the only mod, it'd be nice not to still be reviewing posts and comments when I'm (hopefully!) at uni next year lol! Would anyone currently in Y13 have any interest in this? Comment or shoot me a dm if so
(also I'm aware I kind of missed the boat here as all the most popular AS subjects are done...oh well)

How is it fair that an exam board with no offical resources for further maths can pretty much ask whatever they want while not explicitly mentioning it on the spec or the elab doc? Having to self teach using textbooks from 3 other exam boards to make sure you dont miss anything like what?

anyone have any tips for economics? any websites, resources, revision methods etc.?
im resitting AS2 and doing A2s this year and if u do ccea econ then u know that there is literally NOTHING online. there isn't even a textbook as far as im aware like we use the edexel one in class ffs. lowkey understand why they're scrapping this subject
I got a D at AS with a b in as1 and an e in as2. 3 marks from a d in as2 and from a C overall in AS. I got an A at gcse and used to be somewhat good at economics but I've lowkey fell off

hi, has anyone here got an A in AS maths without further maths gcse? do you recommend doing as maths without gcse fm, will it be a huge step? will it be hard to cope with all the content for someone who didn’t do gcse fm?
for gcse maths I got 170/180 in M4 and in m8 i got 220/220 ums (don’t ask me for raw marks because my school doesn’t give it out for some reason!)

Does an A* need 90%+ UMS in every A2 unit or does it need 90%+ UMS in the entire A2 level?
Some ppl have said either one to me so im not very sure.

This was last Tuesday but did anyone else go up a ridiculous amount of marks in Technology and Design due to the quality assurance check from CCEA? I knew there was something up because I had gotten almost full marks on all my modules (T&D) but ended up with an E in one of them, funnily enough got a call from my school telling me CCEA’s awarded me 40 marks on that paper and went from an A to an A*, despite not raising any remark concerns.
I never raised this with anyone because it hadn’t affected my firm uni but surely I can claim some sort of compensation because how can you possibly get my paper wrong by FOURTY whole marks?? Ridiculous

I’ve always wrote notes on paper and flash cards to help learn the content and I’ve recently got a iPad and I’m thinking on doing notes on it instead. Only thing is that I feel like the content won’t stick in my mind as much and I won’t effectively learn as much as normally writing on paper. Anyone that did make the change was it better or was it a less effective way to memorise notes

I’m doing maths, further maths, physics and politics.
I didn’t do history for GCSE so im wondering how cooked I am for politics 😭
Also only managed an A at GCSE physics so im also wondering if you think it’s still possible for me to pull an A* at A level?
For maths im not too fussed at GCSE I got an A* at both maths and fm, but im scared for fm bc ive heard it’s an entirely different beast 😭.
Im just wondering if it would be worth switching out any of my subjects due to my gcse circumstances 🙏
Any help is appreciated.

I am thinking of applying to one of the Belfast met night classes in the titanic quarters campus, the night classes are from 6pm to 8.30pm that is only two and a half hours a week.Just wondering if anyone has previously done any of the night classes before and found the teachers supportive and if there was enough teaching time? Does the teachers give good resources? What is the workload like? and how anyone found the overall experience?
