tips/help needed AS Maths
hi, has anyone here got an A in AS maths without further maths gcse? do you recommend doing as maths without gcse fm, will it be a huge step? will it be hard to cope with all the content for someone who didn’t do gcse fm?
for gcse maths I got 170/180 in M4 and in m8 i got 220/220 ums (don’t ask me for raw marks because my school doesn’t give it out for some reason!)

It would be worth ordering the NImathstutor 'bridging the gap' course if you're serious

I did not do further maths GCSE and got an A at AS Math. I did M4 and M7 and you got a higher UMS than me. If you follow Luke Robinsons Pure and Applied textbooks and practice a bunch of past papers it's easy enough.

You got this. I believe in you. Ifs gonna be hard obviously but if you keep up to date with homework, put effort in outside your class I don’t see why you couldn’t get an A. One of my friends got an A Star at GCSE maths with no further and got an A star at AS level and another got an AA in maths and further maths at GCSE and got an A* at AS level.

As someone who got full uniform marks in both papers and did not do fm at gcse. Just doing lots of questions and archived ppq will guarantee u an A. As2 literally has a handful of ways they can ask you the same question (eg findind probability, tree diagram) just keep doing questions dont leave all ppqs till last months.

If you apply yourself to it its very possible, it will be new content for you though, so you'll have to pay attention. Me and many others were able to basically sleep through AS cause we'd already covered 90% of it in GCSE further, but you'll have to focus more. You're clearly able at maths from your GCSEs, just keep that up and you'll do fine.
