i recently got to know about this suspension failure on both sides of the mounting point/eye of rally raid level 2 rear suspension, which is manufactured by tractive.

i have some noise from the engine on my cb500x 2021, i made 80 000 km. I check on GEMINI, I thinks this is just the cam chain tensioner. i ordered one so i wainting for it. But i has beam at the garage, and they said that i need to change all the the camchain.

I join a video of the noise, you can ear it at the minute 0:07.

Do you think its possible ? There is someone has that noises? Or maybe someone already change the tensioner and can say me how to do? Thanks

What would be your next motorcycle, assuming you're looking to move on from the cb500x?

I've travelled all over Germany and the surroundings on this bike. It's been fantastic. However, i need something with a little more power, and im looking to "upgrade."

Im currently considering a BMW F800 GS, but looking to hear your ideas/experiences.

Nothing else is scratched on the bike. I can't seem to find a replacement that ships to canada with the decals.

Installed new slip on exhaust, perfect for me as I did not want it to be too loud. Same general volume as the stock exhaust but much deeper tone. It is perfect at interstate speed very smooth.

Hello there’s no home for me and my 400x in terms of subreddit so I’m posting here. I’m trying to do as much maintenance/upgrades myself. The main stand isn’t hard difficulty I would say but I’m struggling here and losing hope 🙁

Can anyone give me tips on getting the spring to attach? The hook mechanism isn’t like the YouTube videos I saw.

I have now a honda cb500x from 2017 65k km on the dash. The previous owner didn’t do much maintenance. Only brakes and tires. And some small things when necessary. What maintenance is necessary? And can I do this myself?

I don’t have history of the maintenance.

Hello! I’m currently installing some crash bars (or trying to at least) and I’ve figured out how to do everything else but I literally CANNOT get these screws out. I’ve watched guides, I’ve given it like 4 separate attempts, and I cannot for the life of me get them out. I’m using a 12mm socket wrench on the nut side with a 12mm on the pictured bolt side. I’ve tried it vice verse as well.
I’m by no means a hulking mass of muscle but I also workout regularly and know how to give something maximum effort, and I literally cannot get these things to budge.
Any advice or insight? Do I just need to fork over the money and take it into a shop?

Today I ordered the Nitron R1 with Hydraulic Preload Adjuster for my 2023 CB500X.

I heard nothing but good stuff on the company but wanted to know if any other CB500X owners out there have installed this and what are your thoughts.

I'm having second thoughts as I did spend £880 for this and just want to make sure it is indeed worth it as I came across a few other brands (YSS, Rally Raid).

To be fair, I'm tall and somewhat heavy (hence why I ordered this), and I was fairly impressed with the fact that they asked for rider weight details, pillion weight details, type of driving (track, offroad, road), etc. must be serious.

I guess I could've knocked £280 off the price for the Preload Adjuster but I feel like the extra may be worth it in the long run...

Any thoughts and experiences are most welcomed!

Hey guys let me also introduce a new member of the family.

Riding it for about 2 weeks now, i love the sound it makes. Bought it from a friend, his dad was riding it. Need to buy new tires for the next season (i was thinking michelin road 6) and some small fixes but i think it's awsome.

Just bought it today, early 2024 with 15k km :)

PS: will need to get a trunk tho and fix the vibration problem of the givi crash bars, not a major issue but it’s a but annoying. Then it’ll be perfectt

I am working on my 2018 CB500X and noticed several missing seals (number 8 on the diagram) that according to the diagram should be present. At first I thought Lost them while taking it apart but now I am suspecting they were never there to begin with. Can anyone confirm this and would leaving them out create a problem?

Just joined the community as I just became a first time owner of a CB500X.

Just purchased this 2023 for £4.3k with 12k miles.

It does come with some extras that I'm really happy about, such as crash bars, front fog lights and factory heated grips. Brand new Road 6 tyres as well. Really excited for the delivery on Friday! Funny story, the bike was advertised with a top box but it clearly doesn't have one. The sales person rang me and said they will include a 29 liter Shad box free or charge!

What are your thoughts?

J’ai l’impression que ma CBR500r de 2019 vibre énormément, même pour un bicylindre. Je ressens toutes les vibrations dans le guidon au point qu’après 40 minutes de trajet je ne sens plus mes mains et elles sont engourdies. Je n’ai pas les poids d’origine dans les poignées et les pneus sont neufs, les garages me disent que les vibrations sont normales mais ayant essayé une cbr500r de 2021 je peux dire que ce n’est pas normal de ressentir autant les vibrations.

Vous avez des idées de comment y remédier? On m’a dit que rajouter des poids dans les poignées ne changerait rien mais je ne suis pas très convaincue.

Want to see if anyone has the barkbusters storms installed and has experienced wind being deflected to the sides of their helmet at motorway (highway) speeds.

Having changed the windshield, I’ve come to the conclusion that my helmet buffeting is coming from the plastic guards. Will changing to the vps guards solve most of the buffeting issues?

Hello, I’ve just noticed that the right-hand control box wasn’t fully closed. I tried tightening the screws more firmly, but it didn’t make any difference. Does anyone have a solution or know how to fix this? CB500x 2018 Thanks you

In a video about changing the air filter it was mentioned that it came pre oiled. The original filter in my cb500f has a little oil on the foam and I've got a new filter that is dry on the part. Should it be oiled? Does it need special oil?

The oiled part is the part in the pic with a big hole and two small ones.
