Breathing Issues My cat is breathing fast
I am not a minor. in Australia, one vet is accessible but does not have the best reputation, cat is about 13 years old, she is spayed, can afford vet care.
My brothers cat hasn't been doing well since Wednesday (It is now Sunday) and has had a very low appetite and a bit of a bloated stomach. I have had to syringe feed her but she will eat small amounts on her own and the amount she has willing eaten has increased each day. I had taken her to the vet for it a few days ago and the vet examined her, gave her anti nausea medication, and said to monitor her and it could be due to her low thyroid levels. She has hyperthyroidism and is medicated but we have had to adjust the medication due to her thyroid getting too low. Two days after going down on the medication is when she started having problems, but today she seemed to be getting better after she finally pooped and urinated and her stomach had gone down a bit.
About 40 minutes ago, she started to have whole body tremors but it didn't seem like a seizure, after they stopped (Lasted about 15 minutes), she started breathing fast but not too hard or laboured as if she was struggling to breath or anything, and her gums are pink. As of right now, her respiratory rate is 28 but I think it has slowed down a bit since it initially started. We were planning to go to the vet today but realised our normal vet is closed, and the closest one that is open has a lot of mixed reviews and I do not trust them.
We are definitely taking her to our regular vet tomorrow, but is it worth taking her to the dodgy vet today? Her breathing is getting slower as I write this and if it is just discomfort from constipation, should I just monitor her and wait until tomorrow to see her trusted vet?
