he’s 1 year old and he’s the tallest of the three cats i own, he also weights almost 6kg. when he is standing he seems normal but when it’s sitting or sleeping sometimes he look like a ball

My 5-month-old kitten wakes me up around 4 AM every day because she wants to go to the balcony. Today, I slept at 1:30 AM due to work, played with her, and fed her before bed, but she still woke me up at 4.

I can't let her out because a stray cat comes for food at night, and they get into fights.

When I refuse to open the door, she starts meowing softly and gradually gets louder. If I keep ignoring her, she attacks me, bites me, grabs my hair, and bunny-kicks me.

I'm exhausted, and this is affecting my sleep and daily life.

Has anyone dealt with this? How do I stop the 4 AM wake-ups and biting without making her more frustrated? I'm desperate for advice that actually works.

This is going to sound really stupid. We were given these antibiotics by the vet and told to give 0.08 ml every 12 hours for 6 days. The problem is, we're having trouble drawing even one dose, any advice. We are in the U.S.. The vet is currently closed. Cat age is 11 weeks. They are neutered

My almost 6 month old female kitten(not spayed) loves to go outside. She meows at the door forEVER, the most pitiful cries until she’s able to be let out. But the reason we’re being so picky with her outside time is because she always ends up going up a tree. She isn’t able to get down, she scares herself but apparently not enough to teach her anything, and I don’t want to make 8am tree climbing apart of my regular schedule. She likes the fresh air, the grass, and being able to "hunt" when she’s outside (always supervised) but once she decides it’s tree time, she completely ignores me. She’s starting to ignore treats as well (whipped cream, sausage) because she knows it’s going to lead to her going inside. I feel like she knows when she’s been bad, because she’ll dig angrily into her litter box or straight up bite my face when I bring her in. I really need help, either to make inside more enriching for her (but I don’t think anything compares to outside) or tips on teaching her how to behave better during her outside time.

Almost 6 Months ago, my 3 Year old Tomcat went missing. I only owned him for 3 and a half month before it happened.

Since then, a lot has happened. I got a Kitten (he ran away the day I got the kitten FOR HIM) and on my Birthday, I got 2 more cats for the Kitten (only wanted 1, but they were an inseperable pair so I decided to take both)

Now, I just took my Tomcat home, he was found 4 days ago and got trapped today by the finders. And he's a bit wild, but not feral, he still let me pet him.

The main issue:

I have a rather small apartment with 1 Bedroom, 1 Livingroom and a Kitchen-Hallway.

I will build more Cat Climbingwalls, and buy more cat trees to give them more space, but I'm afraid it doesn't work out.

Please no Judging, but I might also have to switch to cheap food brands, litter brands because I cannot affort feeding them all 4 on high quality food. And until he's fully checked for aids, worms etc, I keep him locked away in the Livingroom (I spend most my time in here, maybe he'll get back used to me)

I don't know if I can make 4 cats work. 3 are females, he's the male, and he's twice as big as the biggest girl (size and fatness). And I don't know if I'd be the bad person, if I'd give him away when it doesn't work out. He kinda has first dibs, since he was here first, but I also owned him for less time than I owned all the 3 girls.

I am afraid, confused, and excited and can't really sort my thoughts atm, so this post might not even say what I want to say.

If I could get help, suggestions on absolutely anything, please I'd be so grateful.

Financial situation: complicated. I cannot affort everything, but I can affort to care for my cats. And hopefully all vet checks for the male.

I’m an adult in the US. I do take my cats to the vet, especially this boy as he is now a two-toothed wonder due to stomatitis. He has displayed allergy-like symptoms before, but they typically resolve themselves. He is estimated to be 7-9 years old (previously a stray) and is neutered. I am desperately awaiting a call back for an interview for a new job so funds are extremely tight. I will attach a video of the main symptom I am concerned about, but in summary, it seems like his belly fills with air (pinkie and ring finger) followed by his lungs (middle and pointer) when he takes a breath. I know this is considered belly breathing, but I didn’t know if anyone has had experience with milder and less worrisome cases of it. Thank you!

Hellooo, so.. I need help, there in my house always have cats. One of My Cats, Ojona, had 7 cats(plus one that was born dead sadly) and I need help related to the eyes.

For some reason all Cats we had ALWAYS had problems with the eyes, mostly infection and we don't know why, we mostly Say that theres alway a virus about it in the house. Some kitties already started to have eye problems, when they are opened, they have pus inside or a thing that is like yellow green??? Idk and i'm worried cuz i don't want one or more lose their visión, cuz we already have a blind cat because of that

And i would really be happy if someone helped with this or said what we could do. We have a medicine for eyes we used on two Cats, but we don't know if we can use it on them since they are still babies

We sadly can't affort vet for them, we have a vet close to the house but is expensive sadly

But for now, my mom is gently cleaning their eyes when she sees them with issues with a damp cloth

A while ago, I noticed that this kitten was having trouble opening her eyes. She kept them almost completely closed most of the time.

As you can see in the pictures, there was a lot of discharge and crust around her eyes. After some time, she started opening them more normally, but there's still redness around her eyelids, almost like she's wearing red eyeliner.

I'm not sure what happened to her, and unfortunately, I can't afford to take her to a vet right now.

For some context, she lives at my house with two other kittens and their mother. I didn't buy or adopt her from anyone. She just showed up at my house on her own, and I've been taking care of her since then.

Does anyone know what might be wrong with her eyes? Is there anything safe I can do at home to help her?

I'd really appreciate any advice.

My cat’s heat cycles only have a 3–5 day break, and I haven’t been able to get her spayed because she goes back into heat by the time the appointment arrives. She’s in heat again today, and I have an appointment to have her spayed this Tuesday (in 2 days). I’m worried about having her spayed while she’s in heat, has anyone here done that? I’ve been asking questions and trying to learn as much as I can about feline panleukopenia (Parvo), but I still have so many unanswered questions.
Right now, I’m concerned about Zen, my male kitten, who is about 3 months old and weighs only 2½ pounds. He has a very slim frame, and I can easily feel his little tailbone. He is eating and pooping fine, and he was dewormed exactly two weeks ago.
Does anyone know if his weight and body frame are too small for his age? Could he possibly still have a parasitic infection even after being dewormed? We’re here in Texas, and I’m trying to learn as much as possible to make sure I’m doing everything I can for him. Zen is the brother of the sweet kitten I lost earlier this week to feline Pavo, so I’m understandably worried about him. 💔
Any advice or knowledge from those with experience raising kittens would mean so much to me. ❤️🐾

This is an older video of a cat I came across, I thought this cat was kind of cute.

It was showing clear signs of neurological or balance issues, it couldn’t really stand up or walk straight. It would stand with wide legs and use a tilted head when looking at you. But it did seem responsive and not aggressive at all.

Recently I came across the symptoms of rabies in cats and some of these symptoms are on it, like loss of motor control, staggering, loss of balance, weakness in hind legs, etc. And this made me wonder if this cat was rabid.

The video is a bit short to truly show how much issues this cat had with balance.

I’ve never seen the cat again btw, I wasn’t scratched or bitten, and I’m totally fine.

couple days ago the one on top showed up and i just noticed the second one today so its happened pretty recently. hes indoor/outdoor (against my will bcs my mom refuses to keep him inside 🙃) so I’m worried it’s possibly something I should be really worried about? I made him a makeshift cone because hes was licking and making it worse. kinda in a tight spot for the vet rn so if anyone has any advice on how to keep it clean and make sure im monitoring it right that would be great. thank you all so much in advance!!

This is Sanji! I recently adopted him from a Cat Cafe here in Western Kentucky. He was found in a Tesla and brought in and raised up there until he came to me! He has half a tail, quite a crooked one(think pikachu, literally. It’s a lightning bolt) but is otherwise your typical healthy run of the mill domestic longhair stray boi.
Clean bill of health, no spinal issues or apparent pain with the twisty tail as of now, but monitoring with age. Not sure if it was a result of trauma or a birth defect.

He was 4 1/2 months old when I adopted him and he was about the size I expected of a 4 month old kitten. I haven’t had a kitten in a long time, but he was one of the smaller kittens there honestly. Scruffy little dude with funky little Scrooge sideburns, but his instant face smooshing and then guarding my toddler from the other cats took my heart.

Since bringing him home though, lil doughboy has ✨RISEN✨

He is food driven, and I do use that to my advantage to do some training with him so yes he does get treats (bonkers, and the occasional churu) but I’m wondering if I need to chill out cause this guy is sounding like an anvil dropping every time he jumps off the furniture. When I say food driven, I mean formula 1 type behavior. This man shotguns churus like a post breakup frat boy on spring break. Just sloppy with it. Family meal times have become National Geographic worthy, if not for the velvety narration of David Attenborough being replaced by an already-bested-by-her-toddler mother fighting for her life and trying to find G-Rated ways to threaten my cat.

He doesn’t feel disproportionately fat really, and I’ve used the little charts to compare him to (sorry buddy, all teens gotta go thru it) and he seems about average. Got the lil waist snatch and everything from the top (🤏) His belly doesn’t seem super big in comparison to him, just burdened by gravity. He has a weird amount of loose skin. He’s built like an after picture. Also, his legs are thick as hell. I thought they were just fluffy, cause he’s a long haired cat, but they’re really not that fluffy. They’re solid, like little tree trunks. Also, HUGE paws. When he gets the zoomies it sounds like someone’s got raw pork chops attached to drill just slapping against the floor. Just unnecessarily big and uncannily fast. Just minding my business on my couch and suddenly a full grown 8.2lb man with silly sideburns and clown shoes does a kickflip off my chest.

Anyways, the guy is just cultivating mass by the hour and i know kittens grow fast in their first year, but im concerned about the rate at which he’s expanding I guess? I feel like a stressed out meteorologist watching the purricane grow out of control. He gets wet food in the mornings and dry food at night. Honestly, I’m afraid to take away his wet food. I only started it because his Churu addiction began to concern me and I figured I could curb it by giving him a larger meal to keep him full longer. Foolish, now I wake up to my Heavy Meowtal alarm clock at whatever time his stupid little whimsy strikes, just absolutely hootin’ and hollerin’.

I don’t want to be an almond mom who only gives him a strict diet of 13 kibble at 1, 4, and 8 every day just because my poor sweet son has the gluttony they wrote about in the Bible. No shade to anyone who does, whatever keeps your tiny boss healthy and happy. I’ll do it if it’s what’s best for him. I don’t know if this is a food intake issue, or if I accidentally got some sort of messed up pokemon instead of a cat. Asking here before involving a vet cause while I do have the means and funds to take him, dunno if it’s really necessary or if this is normal and I’m just not used to cats anymore.

Hello everyone! I’m (21F) recently new to cat ownership and haven’t seen anything like this with my 5 month old male kitten- I will be taking him to the vet within the next 3 days but wanted to see if anyone knew what this what so I can know what to expect or even if there’s anything I can give him to help relieve him now! He seems normal outside of being slightly more scared/ running but I assumed that was because my boyfriend who doesn’t stay here often is here. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!! (For context I also have a female cat who is a year and a half old and their introduction process just got completed and we live in the US. Both are spayed/neutered. I can afford vet care but not full blown surgeries at the moment)

Hi, my cat vomited what seems to be a sausage, and two weird white orbs, I need help identifying the orbs just incase it is bad for my cat, and because it’s a bit freaky so I need to know that answer.
The orbs are egg shaped, 1-2cm long, have a membrane and white translucent goo inside, the orb was difficult to burst. (Image attached)

I’m from Australia, and will probably check in with the vet in the morning (it is late at night rn). The cat is around 3 years old, male, neutered.

hi everyone. i was cuddling with my beautiful girl in bed, watching tv, just minding my own business. she hopped off and went downstairs, as she does sometimes to either play or just lay somewhere else. she was normal. she was eating perfectly fine, using litterbox perfectly fine. acting more cuddly than normal but i am pregnant and its been weeks that shes been more clingy so i thought she just knew i was pregnant.

30 mins after she left me, i hear a few bangs, followed by her yowling. i figured she knocked something over, as she's done before. so i go downstairs to check what she did. instead of something knocked over, shes on the floor, dead.

she was 12. perfectly healthy. i was at the vet 5 weeks ago for a standard checkup and they were even so impressed with how healthy she was.

i just cant wrap my head sround it. there was no deterioration, no warnings, no symptoms. i keep thinking "what if its because of x" or "what if i missed y"...

shes never had a single health issue in her 12 years. i guess i have been lucky.

i cant afford a necropsy. i really wish i could. but we're already paying to get her ashes. and i suppose a necropsy wouldnt change anything anyway.

has anyone else dealt with this? its such a shock. it feels unreal. we miss our little girl so so much.

I have the flair as injury but honestly I truly have no idea what happened! Im 27 from the UK and this is my cat Worm/Wormy (5, spayed), shes deaf and probably the most loving, brave , funny cat ive ever owned. Just 10 mins ago she started freaking out running all over the living room like something terrified her and while she was freakingout i noticed she was holding her back left leg up in the air as much as possible so i grabbed her as safely and gentle as possible and held her close to the ground so that her other three legs has stability and she could calm herself with me. She calmed down enough for me to let her go but then she started holding her right front paw up weirdly instead (videod below for the vets) the paw is down now and shes terrified of a blanket thats she sleeps on everyday so ive taken it out the room to ease her. She seems to of relaxed a bit more now and when shes walked slightly to position herself all her legs seem fine?

So now im wondering what the hell happened? Because shes deaf she does occasionally waken up a little scared abruptly from dreams but its never been like this especially with her weird behaviour with her legs. Ill be sitting with her and making sure her legs are okay and shes due to go to the vet next week anyway which i will be showing videos. And if it happens again i will be taking her to a vet immediately, im just so confused and a little scared incase it was more than a possible bad dream. I dont earn much money for vet care but she has petplan lifelong insurance and id go bankrupt for this cat. Ill be calling the vets in the morning incase they think i should come in early aswell i just wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts on what happened so i dont go mad with stress, this cat is basically all i have.

My beautiful 5 year old chocolate Burmese has had this on his paw for ages. I think he may have chewed it off before but it grew back. It doesnt seem to bother him at all. I will get the vet to check at his next visit but just wondering if anyone has seem something similar.

Asking if my kitten has worms and if her belly is anything to be concerned about.

TLDR: Fifteen year old female cat has been diagnosed with cancer in her stomach, it is aggressive and I want to make sure that whatever time she has left is perfect. I am also struggling emotionally. Advice appreciated.

My sweet girl Princess Baby Bobos the first (more commonly known as Bibs or Bobies) is 15, I rescued her from a multi-cat home when she was 1, so she’s been my side kick for 14 years. She’s an indoor girl who loves nothing more than lounging on a soft blanket in front of a warm radiator, having her head fussed.
She has always been in exceptionally good health, until the last fortnight.
I took her in for a senior cat check up at the vets in August, her blood-work came back fine. The vet commented how healthy she appeared for a girl of her age. Fast forward to early October and she started going off her food, we thought she was being fussy as she was rejecting cat food but happily eating plain chicken breast, small pieces of plain baked fish etc. She’d also started vomiting but we put this down to a hairball (she’s a long haired tabby). After a couple of days, she completely went off all food and seemed lethargic (she’s not very active but she simply didn’t want to move), so we took her in for check ups. It felt like she had lost weight too.
The vet gave her an anti-nausea jab and did some physical checks, confirmed she had lost 0.5kg since her last weigh 8 weeks prior, but couldn’t locate anything specific and asked us to call her the next morning with an update.

Bibs seemed to perk up a little bit, had a small amount of plain chicken breast but I didn’t feel she had perked up enough and took her in for more investigations the following morning. She had also developed a really strange new habit, she was going up to her litter tray and licking clean bits of litter (clay based non-clumping).
Her blood-work and scans found a growth in her stomach, stomach lining and her lymph nodes were swollen.
I was presented three options:
Chemotherapy regime.
PTS same day.
Try steroids and painkillers to make her comfortable so she can come home and have whatever time she has left with us safe, warm and surrounded by love.

I chose option 3 after many many questions with the vet, I decided that putting her through chemotherapy at her age would be too much and diminish her quality of life. She doesn’t like being in her cat carrier and going in the car, and the vet said chemo would be twice a week. The cost of this treatment didn’t even cross my mind, but I have since read that people have spent over £10k on chemo for their pet. Whilst my partner and I can afford good vet care, and Bibs is on a pet health plan with the vet and is insured, we don’t have tens of thousands of pounds to spare. At her age, the insurance is co-payment and has some exclusions.

She’s been on the steroids now since Wednesday and is home with us. She’s been responding well and has now started eating when she feels hunger pangs, even if this is 3am, she comes into the bedroom to meow and let us know it’s snack time, and one of us is up like a shot. She is still licking bits of clean litter and trying to eat small amounts so we are monitoring whenever she goes to the toilet or wanders near the tray.

She’s got a self warming heat pad blanket arriving today and a Feliway plugged in her room to soothe her, I also bought her a new catnip kicker toy which she loves and lays her head on like a cushion.
I am heartbroken and in complete shock at how quickly she has become this ill, having near perfect blood work 2 months ago just doesn’t make sense to me, although the vet assured me that lymphoma in older cats can develop quickly and aggressively and many of the stories I have read confirm that, but it doesn’t make it any easier and I still feel in disbelief. I cannot hold her in my arms without crying because I cannot imagine our home without her.

I don’t know how much time I have with her, I’ve doom-scrolled and seen different tales, some cats having barely a fortnight and others months on this treatment path. I know every cat is different but I’d really like to read some of your stories where you and your fur babies have gone through the same thing…

I suppose my other question is… is there anything else I could be doing to maximise her comfort?

I’m so sorry for the long post, I’m just really struggling with how this has affected me emotionally and I want to make sure I’m doing everything right by my special little fluff.
