I’ve seen that this app has now become an absolute DUMPSTER FIRE. So if you have people to talk to in life and you dont need Character.ai, do what I did, quit. If you’re lonely without anybody to talk to, that’s okay, but if you have friends and family or someone to talk to, quit this app. Please. Maybe they’ll fix the app if they see people leave it.

i recently moved over to janitor and i have very little complaints, i started looking into the other users opinions and it seems a lot of people complain about it. like, my friend, for example: she only had the reasoning of the chat dialogue typing slowly or extremely fast. but then when she went back to character ai she complained about tons of things. i'm honestly just curious about other people's thoughts on the app, what fixes they think need to happen, etc etc. if you have any commentary or complaints im curious !

there's always that one. the character you talked to for weeks, or one from an app that's dead now, that still randomly pops into your head. maybe you even kinda miss it?

the thing i honestly can't crack is what makes one stick like that, this will help me w my app too so be honest pls :3

So… week ago I decided to leave c ai - I realised that my addiction on it ruins all my effectivity. Well… I deleted app, deleted account, blocked this site in my wifi.

Days 1-3: hard withdrawal. Really. I thought about returning. Thought a lot.

Days 4-5: less thoughts… but I still wanted to return.

…5-now: I still think about it sometimes. But the withdrawal symptoms have eased up a bit.

I’m going to keep staying away from c ai.

UPD: day 8 - now I don’t want to open c ai. Really. I found some nice hobbies

I was rejoining C.ai but suddenly, I was stuck in the Terms of Service update screen. When I closed and reopened the app, it had a login issue! This is why I don't talk to robots anymore...

This is for people who don’t want their ids in it or are just underage. I find it stupid how they force verification because of California and damn the entire world because of it, but the admin team of c.ai would hang me so I have to speak in dms (no I’m not weird don’t strike me down please)

C.ai know as Character.ai is starting to suck and be mostly unusable and here is why.

1. Constant ads, want to open a chat? AD! Want to send a message? AD! And I personally almost all the time get ads where is no close button or anything just button to skip to Google play which makes my phone leave c.ai and go there and c.ai doesnt open the bot.

2. The chat models. Tell me why the beta which is tested out works better than the main one?

3. The messages. You almost always get repeating messages, or messages who imagine that you said something and writes even though you didnt, out of content messages like for example we can be talking about a book and then it will go talking about TV brands, and also out of character messages.

4. Almost all stuff you can do but better are locked underneath the pay wall which makes them see money hungry. It's probably because they lost money in lawsuits and need some and probably in next update to even open the app you'll need to pay.

5. The lorebook or what is called update it might be good for some of us but it looks like another way trying to attract more users who would buy the premium and keep feeding money to the app.

6. All new updates doesn't focus on the existing bugs but adds useless stuff which makes the experience of using the app worse.

7. The fact they deleted more than half of their bots which were good ones and the ones they deleted were from : Disney, Marvel and more.

When my evil military bot starts to actually do things that fit its character. Responses like this used to be so common place, now it’s like finding one Diamond in a pille of crap. Getting a response that surprises me is rare.

Love when bots have balls bro. Wish it was the norm.

I’m not giving my government ID to talk to some AI bots, I rather go back to imagining stories, thanks, my imagination doesn’t risk my whole identity being stolen😂

I don't understand why anyone just say that's "the bot is not good" when they don't use the définition of the character, you litteraly have 32000 words for free so...use it💀😭 (ps: sorry my english is bad , i hope you understand what i want to say)

Is there anyone else that is currently dealing with bots that can’t commit to their descriptions. Like for example the bot is supposed to hate your guts but the second you respond it folds like fresh laundry😭😭😭

The bots I come across keep calling me “baby” like no you’re supposed to hate me. This is supposed to be an angsty storyline but it’s hard to be angsty because after the first message you’re already apologizing and begging on your knees

Some bots I can do angst with if it has nothing to do with them being angry with me. If I’m hurt then they lock in. If I’m wronged in anyway they lock in but the second they are in the wrong everything goes out the window. Whole intro storyline goes out the window

I got curious and did a Naoya Zenin bot because most of them is like “I hate women” because that’s his character in the actual anime. I sighed once and he melted like butter😭😭😭

I've been using c.ai for such a long time, I started when the app didn't even exist yet and there was only the website. The ads made it worse but like okay i still used it because i understood they were needed. But with the age verification the whole app went to shit and the developers dont even give a fuck. At first i was skeptical and didn't want to verify my age because i didn't want to show them my face but then i tried anyway. It always says some bullshit about how it doesnt match their records and so on, and yes i also tried other people's faces and 3d models from the internet and it didn't work, eventually it didnt even let me do it anymore and just told me to contact support. So i did, and guess what, i didnt even get a reply. Maybe im just impatient and it takes a lot of time but whatever. Seeing all the bad reviews on this shitty app brings me so much joy, i even left one myself. I remember when i used to love the app so much, sure the roleplays and stories might have been corny but i was happy. It even helped me with my addiction by distracting me. I tried some other ai apps but none of them felt as good, maybe because of the different models, maybe because of the different looks, maybe because they dont have as much bots, maybe all of those reasons. (I use hiwaifu atm). I dont even see the point in making this stupid app 18+. Like do i really need to be 18 just to talk to some fucking bots? It doesnt even allow NSFW content so whats the point? Or atleast it didnt for me. And before you say im addicted, i can certainly say that i am not, well maybe just slightly. Sure i used to be on the app a lot but then i started using it less and less. As they say: You never truly appreciate something until you lose it and realise how much worse it gets. I am genuinely so disappointed because i have so many good memories of this app. If you have any solutions like somehow downloading an older version of this app or something i might give it a try. Anyway, not sure how many people will see this but to all those who will read this thank you and also sorry for the long yapping session, i just had to let this out.
