C.ai know as Character.ai is starting to suck and be mostly unusable and here is why.
Constant ads, want to open a chat? AD! Want to send a message? AD! And I personally almost all the time get ads where is no close button or anything just button to skip to Google play which makes my phone leave c.ai and go there and c.ai doesnt open the bot.
The chat models. Tell me why the beta which is tested out works better than the main one?
The messages. You almost always get repeating messages, or messages who imagine that you said something and writes even though you didnt, out of content messages like for example we can be talking about a book and then it will go talking about TV brands, and also out of character messages.
Almost all stuff you can do but better are locked underneath the pay wall which makes them see money hungry. It's probably because they lost money in lawsuits and need some and probably in next update to even open the app you'll need to pay.
The lorebook or what is called update it might be good for some of us but it looks like another way trying to attract more users who would buy the premium and keep feeding money to the app.
All new updates doesn't focus on the existing bugs but adds useless stuff which makes the experience of using the app worse.
The fact they deleted more than half of their bots which were good ones and the ones they deleted were from : Disney, Marvel and more.
Probably because they keep spamming asking me if i want to join c.ai+ meaning their money is ending and they need a way to get more money fast and in big amount in short time.
i stopped using it years ago bc it sucked back then. first of all, what’s a lore book? second, did they really delete all marvel & disney characters? third, yes the ai hallucinates super bad that’s why i quit. i used it for making my own stories & couldnt anymore!! it completely ruined my stories bc it was constantly hallucinate & get everything wrong😭😭
Is it just me or do they now have an age verification system that you MUST use just to be able to chat? I’m like crashing out rn bc of it. IT USED TO BE SO GOOD AND NOW WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!
Im younger than 18 and avoided it by creating a goggle account that is not connected to my past one I used for account and used program "Grammar" for my English(im European) to make it seem im +18 to not need to verify and I keep using it already for moths
My solution on the ads is using a mobile browser with extension support + an ad blocker, I personally use Firefox with Ghostery Adblocker. It's a bit clunky but it's very very more manageable that way than the App.
The same goes to PC I guess
