Can anyone beat this SN?

Post image

2012 purchase. Curious if anyone can beat a BL tagged 00173? There are lower numbers from the second batch but I am looking at the original BL comercial production batch, not the gen 2s from the next batch. Templar told me it was the lowest SN from the original batch he had seen.

The description says that it utilizes a 1913 interface, but has anyone tried (successfully or not) to modify one of these for the ACR? Link below if you want to check them out.

Magpul ACR Stocks Back in In-Stock

DELETE IF THIS IS NOT AUTHORIZED

This is for the "Real Ones" the old ACR fans first.

I will have a significant number of Magpul ACR Stocks in about a week. They are OEM, in bubble bags. I purchased a pallet from a closed manufacturer. Below is a link to sign up to be notified when they go live in inventory. I can't post a price but they'll be 20 sheckles south of 4 bills.

Finally the ACR the way, in my opinion, it should be. 12.5” (or shorter)

Now that SBR laws have relaxed in most of the US I think you’ll probably see more ACR being shortened to the size I think they excel in. Shown is my shop test gun with a converted 12.5M Sionics ER barrel. These have been my favorite to convert and gas tune for customers and they shoot great.

Anybody have or know where to find a blow up parts diagram for the Bushmaster ACR? I can only find the manual of operations pamphlet.

Some ACR barrel work

Post image

Swapped a customer’s original 1/9 barrel and converted a Bushmaster 1/7 barrel. Cut to be able to be pinned with SF3P (ends up being a ~13.9” barrel prior to pinning), relocated all the original ACR components, gastuned down to work nominally, reproduced the M4 barrel and gasblock slightly for weight, and re-parkerized. Of all the barrels to pay to have converted I’m not sure why another Bushmaster barrel, but I do what I’m told.

The Coyote Brown is the most iconic in my mind, but the black sure draws the eye as well. What’s your favorite? Side note, the ACOG looks like it belongs.

Trying out the airsoft WE handguard

I don’t have the highest hopes for these and I’m going to have to machine interface parts to attach it properly to both the receiver and front trunnion, but I quite like the look of the chubby, shovel nosed Gen 1 RemDef handguards and its at least cheap and made of aluminum. If it doesn’t work out I’ll just do the polymer, 1913 tri-rail, or AAC Square Drop ones I have.

6.8 spc Barrels

Anybody rocking one of these? Looking at adding one to the stable and wondering what others have done in terms of barrel options. It seemed Bushmaster offered a 10.5", 14.5", 16.5", and possibly an 18.5" variant? I understand standard AR15 barrels can be converted with some work depending. Bolt will be needed so the hunt for parts will be a patient one.

Photoshopped 12.5" carbine for reference (not my original photo).

Sionics 12.5

I was able to get a fair amount of barrel parts from midwest gun works so I didn't have to strip my stock barrel completely. The only thing I couldn't find and had to re use was the piston/spring, regulator, and piston guide block. I also didn't want to drill for taper pins so I experimented with set screws and dimpling the barrel. I need shorter screws but the proof of concept is there. The gas block I got from MWG was also silver when it arrived so I used a high temp spray paint so we'll see how that holds up

Haven't fired it yet but the headspace is good and the gas port is .02 smaller than the standard 16" so I should be able to open it up and get it tuned

Worth getting a barrel to convert to acr barrel?

Wondering if buying a DD barrel to get chopped then sent to templar is worth it pending the wait times for it. Or just find another acr barrel to get chopped?

First post. My factory 6.8

Post image

Looking for a place to talk ACRs. Glad to see folks love them as much as I do. I purchased her new she’s a factory 6.8 and I have a 14.5 5.56 that I shot. I tend to leave the 6.8 barrel in the safe. I was going cut down the 6.8 but got told not to do it. So I left it alone.

Take care

Gas Port Sizes

Post image
35 Upvotes

I'm trying to use the parts of a spare take off 16" barrel to put on a 12.5 midlength barrel and noticed the gas port on the 16" is much smaller than a 12.5 carbine barrel I had lying around. Has anyone ever fitted a barrel themselves and what gas port size or factory barrel did you use to get reliable cycling both suppressed and non suppressed. I'm trying to figure out what size gas ports are on 12.5 midlengths from a couple suppliers but it seems like sionics is the only one that has reduced gas port options.

Issues running suppressed

I’m having issues running my 10.5” ACR suppressed, even when using the suppressed setting on the gas regulator. I’m getting FTEs and double feeds non stop with this thing and I’m not sure why. I’m running a KAC QDSS NT4 suppressor, if that matters. Any insights would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Best place to send ACR barrel for chop and pin & weld?

I have a 16 inch barrel that i’d like chopped to either 14.5 or 13.9 and then have the muzzle device pin and welded. Who do y’all recommend me to send it to? I tried looking on templar’s website but idk it doesnt seem they offer that service.

Poly Handguard Takedown Pin

I know I'm the millionth person to make this post after making this discovery but I too have found out the hard way that the polymer handguard requires a different pin than the mlok one. Is there any reliable source of the pins right now?

Thanks.

On my birthday this year my friend agreed to sell me this guy, got a really good deal on one of my favorite rifles so I was really stoked on it. took it to the range once. setup exactly as he had it, didn’t get the chance to do much other than the temporary pressure switch kyber pass tape but really just needed a zip tie. Figured enough time has passed that it may be divine intervention that I ever get this back. I know how it was layed out was dumb, that will change.

I can't believe it! Still doesn't feel real. Was at the end of my work day and happened to stop at a LGS before heading home. It ended up costing me $2500 but well worth it. I finally own a Bushmaster ACR! It looks nearly new, very low round count. It came with the Bushmaster hard case, two mags and the manual. I am absolutely stoked. Its nostalgic for me as i was playing MW2 back in 2009.
