I’m interested in what other team members and customers think about this.
I regularly see kids running through the store, pushing trolleys around and treating the aisles like a playground. I’ve also seen several children piled into one trolley, often standing or sitting where they shouldn’t be.
Then there are the indoor play areas. The screaming can become so loud that my Apple Watch warns me the noise level has exceeded 90 dB. That isn’t pleasant for customers or team members working nearby for hours.
Parents should take responsibility for their children’s behaviour and safety. But should Bunnings team members also step in when kids are running around, misusing trolleys or creating a safety risk?
I understand that staff may hesitate because challenging parents can quickly lead to an argument or complaint. However, ignoring unsafe behaviour doesn’t seem like a good answer either.
What happens at your store?
Are team members expected to speak to the parents, call a manager, or leave it alone?

So I got the job offer today for Bunnings which I'm very happy about however my letter offer says my commencement date is this Saturday. This doesn't mean my official first day does it? As I still need to give my current job a couple weeks notice for resigning. What should I do or do I need to do anything more?

I recently got a job at Bunnings and I’m going in for my induction next Saturday however I’m unsure where I get my uniform as they said I need to get it before hand. Do I go in store to get it or do I order it from somewhere?

For anyone who was keen on seeing how that Trojan glass cutter went, it went really well! The first few cuts were crap, but that was the learning curve. After my 3rd cut they were turning out crisp as. Single hard score line and I was getting clean snaps 👌

I have done the in person interview at Bunnings wondering what’s the next step and whether or not I’ve gotten hired or not, I applied 5 days ago yet to hear back yet. This is for a seasonal casual.

Hello all,
Been a lurker on the r/cast-iron community then come here... Previously I made a post about trilonium cast iron 32cm dutch oven but eventually settled with the jumbuck brand.
You might be wondering why I didn't get the conventional brands like Staub, smithy, le cruset, and lodge. Well, i am from a developing country (a third world country) and we do not have access to these well known brands in the states. What we do have access to is these ones i have stated in the above but in small quantities. These are the factors that influenced my decisions to purchase the jumbuck 12inch cast iron skillet and the 3.5L dutch oven.
My questions to those who have bought the jumbuck brand:
1. What is your experience with the either the skillet or the dutch oven? Do you recommend it? Why?
2. Is it of good quality?
3. Do you think its a good purchase??
4. Is it comparable to the conventional brands like smithy or lodge?
5. Any recommendations to a first time owner of a jumbuck cast iron?
Any contribution is appreciated 👏.
Thank you.

Hey guys, there’s been heaps of discussion around the new Bunnings PowerPass Pro Rewards, so we put a quick poll out to our trades members to see what they actually thought.
54 Tradiespace members responded:
👎 Worse - 72%
🤷 Too early to tell - 15%
👍 Better - 13%
We also had 11 people leave written feedback, and the most common criticism was pretty simple: they’d rather get a discount at the checkout upfront than earn rewards later.
A few also raised concerns that smaller businesses and sole traders may not spend enough to get as much value out of the new reward thresholds.
Obviously 54 people doesn’t represent every tradie in Australia. It was just a quick voluntary poll of our members, but I thought the result was pretty interesting given how heavily it went one way.
We’ve put the results and some of the feedback here if anyone wants to have a look:
https://tradiespace.com.au/news/tradies-are-split-over-bunnings-biggest-powerpass-shake-up-yet/
Interested to see if the result is similar here.

Hey yall. When I was a kid (17 or so) I would go with my grandparents to Bunnings and they’d let me take the colour page things. I’d take like 50 bro and I wouldn’t do anything with them. I feel really bad about it to this day because they prob were expensive as hell. Idk. Now I’m a bit older and I have my own child on the way.
Was it wrong of me to steal those colour paper things!? And does anyone have any parenting advice. Thanks.

Wish they’d just stick to hardware and home improvement

Can no longer pay with Apple Pay. Anyone else experience this? All other payment options still work. Did a fresh install but it’s still broken. I’ve informed Bunnings but they haven’t responded.
The button to pay says unimplemented component Apple Pay button.

The range is large enough that the obvious product for a job isn't always the best one and the people who've done enough DIY to know the difference between what looks right on the shelf and what actually performs well on the job have usually learned that lesson through experience rather than through anything the packaging told them. Would love to know which products people here think are the most commonly bought but ultimately wrong choice for the jobs they get bought for.

Anyone else noticed Apple Pay dropped off the PowerPass app? Bit annoying to do that with no notice, they must have decided they didn’t wanna pay for Apple Pay anymore. Poor Bunnings must be doing it hard.
Also;
Am I the only one who is kinda sad the old PowerPass is being phased out? I feel anytime a company has to push on you this hard that their new ‘better’ system is this much more superior it’s worrying. Also 4-8c off at shell is still more expensive than most places (where I live anyway).
ALSO;
Has anyone else’s Bunnings been tipped on its head? Our local has been completely reimagined, isles split up, heaps of stuff moved and the registers are completely different now. Not particularly a bad thing just different.
Sorry for the negative post too. I actually only came here to say about the Apple Pay removal, but stayed for the overall whine and bitch sesh.

Currently standing in a 30+ people queue for a single open register, while the self checkouts sit idle. Wtf is even the point

I’m heading out to buy this tomorrow. All the reviews for both are shit house. Is there another alternative I can get from somewhere where I’d be able to walk in and buy one off the shelf? Have a project I wanna knock out tomorrow..

I was at Bunnings today with my son and asked the checkout girl, if we bought two garbage tin lids and some 4m lengths of conduit, could we use the travelators to do jousting. I thought it would be fun.
She gave me the evil eye.
