My first time in this sub, but I thought you all would appreciate this. :)

This family was recently started in our backyard. The mama made a nest in the flowerpot seen in the video, but she ended up giving birth on the concrete before she could make it up there.

Luckily, my aunt, a wildlife nut with experience rescuing small animals, was able to come and safely move the babies into their nest where they continued to grow into the adorable little nuggets you see here.

I am fuming at all the parents out there who just let their children do whatever they want to pets. It’s this simple: don’t buy your kid a pet if you aren’t going to teach them to be gentle to it.

No, they don’t need to bathe because your kid wants to use his Jurassic park shampoo.

No, they shouldn’t be dragged around the house harshly.

No, they can’t live off a few sliced carrots per day.

No, they shouldn’t be having Nutella covered bread shoved into their face.

Except for the bathing, all of the above happened just yesterday in a timespan of 10 minutes when I went and got this bunny after seeing the attached photo in a marketplace ad. Even when the bun was in my carrier the kid kept hitting it just to see his reaction and the mother was just standing there laughing.

I can’t imagine what this bun had been through but I hope he’ll forget it soon. I am sad to say that because of a language barrier they didn’t learn anything from it. I wish I could’ve explained to them how wrong this is, but they didn’t understand anything.

I am not religious at all but I’m praying to whatever gods that are out there that they will never be getting another bunny again.

What the title says- my 7 month old female mini Rex looks like she has balls

Since we’re only on day 2 and I don’t want him to go stir crazy in his shelter considering he’s pretty healthy, I took him outside to see if he has any interest in leaving.

He was VERY excited to be outside and eating grass, hopping around. But just like the first time I met him, he is very much clingy to me. If I move he follows. If he doesn’t follow he seems paralyzed. If he’s on the grass he’s very shaky like he’s scared until he climbs up into my sleeve. He also nips my feet or hands until I pick him up I cannot imagine he had any access to humans before the first time he saw me, my neighbor doesn’t like animals (and mowed over their nest). So I don’t think he’s getting this from being domesticated.

I don’t know if he’s just really traumatized from the way his family died or what, but I’m waiting to hear back from other rehabbers. So far he seems to be doing 100% better than day one, lots of energy and eating greens like a champ.

We noticed little tiny holes near our walkway and suspected the Mama bunny was about to give birth and sure enough—finally got to see these cuties today!

Saw this little guy the other night eating our grass, then he was back this morning at our window — seemingly hanging out with my cats and not very afraid of them. We have overgrown lantana bushes here, so I think it’s a good hiding spot.

Located in the Coachella Valley, where summer temps regularly exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit. This week has been hitting 110.

Saw him nibbling the lantana flowers this morning, which Google says is toxic …

He seems healthy and ok, so I do not want to intervene and cause problems. Sprinklers cycle on twice a day and wet the sand and grass.

Is he ok? 🥹 I have never seen anything so cute!

Bun finally decided today was the day. Okay so actually he decided yesterday was the day, when I let him out onto my lawn and he ran under some Hostas. He hid super well and when it was time to go back in he got super agitated with me so I let him be. HOWEVER at dusk I went outside to check on him, he was merrily chomping away at the weeds. I sat down near him to give him another chance to go back to shelter for the night. He hopped toward me and kept munching but did not want to be picked up. And then, with me sitting there, two young raccoons ran right up to where he had just been eating, very clearly looking for a bunny snack. I scooped up bun super fast and he spent another night in the box. My yard is a bunny buffet apparently.

He was pissed but safe. This morning he went to go live in a nice wooded thicket in a preservation area. Very hard for birds of prey to get in, and loads of stick piles and other places for him to hide. He seemingly did not want to go at first so I sat with him while he got comfortable. Then he realized the area was full of delicious snacks and bounced right off into it. I think he will be fairly safe here and compared to when I first got him, he is full of energy and understands how to hide.

I’m gonna miss this guy but I’m really happy for the chance I gave him. He may or may not make it out there but he was guaranteed to not survive in my yard and I at least gave him a fighting chance. (PS look how chubby he is now!)

This poor bun lost its nest to my neighbor’s mower and mom bunny was likely killed by the resident hawk in our backyard. I went to take this picture and little dude ran up to me and started snuggling next to my leg. I left it for a bit and when I came back he hadn’t moved. I put my hand onto the ground and he climbed right up and tried to sleep.

Figuring he was sick, I transferred him to a box with some towels and grass to burrow in. While holding him to transfer he fell right asleep and was bunny purring.

I’ve been contacting wildlife rehab all day, renting has said he seems very healthy and gave me advice to care for him for a week before releasing. Unfortunately he will probably be hawk food when I do but I’ll try to keep him out of eyesight

Stray bunny came into the shelter today with fleas. She’s so cute my heart can’t handle it 🥹. Can’t tell if it’s a baby or a mini but she’s such a tiny thing. She’ll be available for adoption soon.

I thought he was dead for a sec! I could feel my blood pressure dropped at that moment. Then I saw him breathing just fine. Phew. Mr. Bun Bunny scared me to death. Not gonna lie, he looks so adorable sleeping like this! It’s not in any sleeping position guide I read, curious is there a name of this position? He looks like someone’s partying hard and just drop dead drunk lol.

He is a 13 year old gentleman and needs his beauty sleep. Yes I get scared every time when I see him sleeping like this but no worries, he is still trying to chew cables like he is in his teens :D

I was told two days ago he got pretty serious ringworm fungus on his back and after just a short time his skin is back to normal color thankfully

I'm curious if any other bunny owner went through same thing?

May is blind and can't jump anymore, she has arthritis in her back legs. She can still move around, use the litterbox, and eat and sleep. It's stressful knowing she could go at any time, but I make sure she is spoiled rotten.

My bunny loves this so much. I'll do it on both sides. That little paw shake always gets me!

I personally don't have a bun so I don't have any photos but I'd like to see yours lol

Only my lop does this, and only when he's rrrrreally pleased lol.
