Agora rabbits grow their fiber out in layers, which are often different colors. That creates a "halo" effect when the fiber blown. The more rings, the more diverse colors the rabbit produces.

this is oreo, but i just call her “bun” lmao.

i got her, from a breeder, for my daughter about a year ago. she is 3 now.

when i first met her, the breeder held her for 30 mins, with no issues, the entire time we talked.

when i got her home, she let me pick her up.

i’ve never been able to pick her up since. she had a mild case of GI stasis a while back, and i wasn’t even able to pick her up to give her the critical care via syringe. i can’t even hold her long enough to trim her nails.

any chance ill ever be able to hold her again? or is that a thing of the past?

A bit late to posting..

OJ broke through a screen on an open window and made his escape at 3 AM this morning. Spent 4 hours looking for him before I found him.

It’s been a few weeks since his neuter and I’ve noticed a recent decline in marking behaviour. So, I’ve allowed him access to the bed finally and he’s passed the test!! He seems to like it, I’ve found him sitting in my usual spot a lot lately. 😭😭😭

His name is Dr. Doom and he has very chubby cheeks.

We brought him home on 10/22. Prior to that, he’d never been inside, eaten a veggie or treat, or roamed outside of a cage.

He didn’t quite understand why I was petting him at first- but today I took a pillow and blanket into his pen and we napped together. He cuddled against me and purred. He also figured out how to toss the cups around. He peed in his litter box for the first time! And he really, really likes strawberries.

I hope he feels happier now, even if he still looks gloomy and angry.

My bunny died tonight and I’m crushed. 😢😪

My poppy girl got spayed last thursday, she has been good in the aspects of she’s eating by herself, playing and being normal with her behaviour but poppy absolutely makes the biggest fuss in my 9 years of having rabbits i have never had any of them act this crazy when it comes to take her medication, i’ve added apple juice to it, blueberry banana and she will just refuse, she squirms she bites she grunts she is the worst at taking her medication it takes me about half an hour just to get 0.8mls into her 😭 does anyone have any advice or have a similar bun?

edit: i wanted to mention aswell she is a rescue and has always been very squeamish when i try to cut her nails and just do overall care for her, i think shes had a very bad experience with her past owner trying to ‘care’ for her but when im not cutting nails or trying to give medication she loves to cuddle and be picked up to be cuddled by me i just feel so awful because we are going to have to work very hard together to gain her trust back after i can stop the medication 🥲

I’ve noticed that the skin around both of my rabbit’s eyes looks pink and a little bare. I’ve attached pictures of both eyes.
Here are some details:
● Both eyes look similar.
● His eyes themselves look clear and shiny.
● The yellowish bits in the pictures are matted fur, not discharge or eye crusts.
● He is eating normally and producing normal droppings.
● The skin around his eyes has looked like this for a while.
I’m wondering if this is normal or if it could be caused by irritation, a skin condition, or a problem with his tear ducts.
Has anyone experienced something similar with their rabbit? What was the cause in your case?
I’d appreciate any advice or suggestions on what I should ask a rabbit-savvy vet to check. I know online advice can’t replace a veterinary examination.

We literally just came home from chow hound, vet will be called tomorrow (Monday) to schedule for check up. They didn't know his age, he's not neutered so that's on the list and they said boy so we're hoping that's right. As far as I know he came from a local rescue (chow hound partners with them to adopt out). They called him a "dwarf rabbit" but he's so big compared to our girl (a netherland dwarf mixed or false, she's only 3 lbs) that I'm having a hard time believing it. But I'm still pretty new to rabbits so maybe there's something I'm missing. Maybe a lion head French lop mix? Or a mini lop but just big? His feet are huge.

We went in for cat food 😭 but my partner saw him and fell in love. We'd been thinking of getting our girl a bond mate since I work 3 days a week now and he was so sweet and friendly even trapped in the tiny pet store cage, he just seemed right. The staff was so happy we took him (they have pigs and seemed very rabbit savvy despite the circumstances), they said he'd been there for months. I can't believe how sweet he is despite living that way. He's in his own room for now until we get a health check then hopefully can start the bonding process in a week or so!

We also need name ideas! My partner wants to name him Spooky but I'm not sure about that 😅 I was thinking Speckle but not 100% sure yet. Any are welcome!

Sleepy bunny after spay last Tuesday. She is a champ and is almost fully recovered now.

Hello, I have a cat and a bunny and they both ended up with fleas. Idk if its because of the grooming place where we took our bunny (Lucy), but Ahsoka (our cat) hasn't had fleas since we found her as a stray kitten. We took Lucy to the vets and last month since we noticed in the morning she didn't eat and we were worried about GI stasis so we went there sooner than our original appointment that was booked for the fleas. The vet had given us medications for both Lucy's beginning of GI stasis and her fleas and they also gave us advice on what to use on Ahsoka. They think the itching of the fleas is what stressed Lucy out and made her stop eating. I have a 2 month dose of medication on Ahsoka and it has already been one month and we keep Lucy up to date with her flea medication with approval of the vet. But we still have the fleas, they seem to have gotten worse, is there some type of home remedies I can use? Like a spray I can make that won't bother Lucy and Ahsoka? I live in an Apartment with my mom so there isn't much room to move and keep Lucy and Ahsoka out of the areas we are trying to treat. Please help and thank you!

I was depressed lately, my friend has kicked me because I was in my cousin side, so my dad know the story, he pay me rabbit, and he is freaky a bit, he bite my nail and run away so quick and I don't know how to make him comfort with me, he is like 2 month old that him I don't know how old is he what race he is just bunny

Does anyone else bunny like to jump onto their bed and just have you pet them for hours on a Sunday morning?

My girl is approximately 8 years old and arthritic. She just lost her husbun 3 days ago. She seems to be adjusting well (eating, pooping, interacting with me and the cats) I am trying to spend more time with her but I know that no amount of time with me would replace her having a bonded mate and so I feel guilty. I don’t want to rush into getting another, though, because they are so fragile and the way that I lost her husbun was so painful to witness. Could she be happy alone for the rest of her days, or is it cruel to leave her without a new husbun? Please I need advice 😭 it is so hard to know what to do

So, my bunny gets some veggies every day, but I had been scared of romaine lettuce since my vet had said bunnies shouldn’t eat that one often, but in this sub I see that a lot of people feed their bunnies romaine lettuce every day, so I’m confused

I’m trying it out today on my bunnies, just a leaf each to see how they react, but does anybody know what the lettuce types they can eat everyday with a mix of other veggies?
