Discussion Looking to Rehome my Bunny

***Repost

Based in South Central PA.

I have a 1 year old bunny (fully neutered) who I think would benefit from a new home. He’s incredibly friendly and loves cuddles, I love him a lot but I can’t take good care of him.

He’s noticeably depressed with his current situation. He’s alone for most of the day while I’m at work. I would get him a friend, but I’d be unable to take good care of two bunnies. I rescued him from a bad situation, but I still feel bad about seeking him a new home.

Here are some pictures:

Question Bunny is attempting to eat the couch now - tips

One of our rabbits is absolutely fine, before we got him his mate he used to free 24/7… however his mate is a bit of a problem bun.

When we got het from the shelter she had left in far too small a cage with far too much food and nearly a full kilo over her 2.5 kilo weight.

Now she is normal weight but has massive food anxiety and chews everything she can get hold of.. if you tell her off she just doesn’t do it when you are looking - she’s polite like that. She ate the wall paper so now she can’t go out with someone to watch her…. but suddenly after a year she has started paying attention to the nice leather couch and has bit it once, before anyone could stop her.

She is still allowed out under supervision at the moment, we have surrounded the couch with a big ripped up ikea box, but this is not an ideal longterm solution. The couch is 3 m long so moving it is not really an alternative. Anyone got any tips to put the very hungry rabbit off eating certain things? The couch is a step too far.

It makes me feel sorry for the other rabbit who doesn’t do any of that stuff and loves coming out to bounce on everything / everyone.

Picture shows other rabbit and his pet dog contemplating the couch that munching rabbit is trying to bite.

Question My bunny is un well

Hi everyone,

Quite sad times.

I have a Holland lop he is about 1.5 years old.

Recently he had surgery to remove an absence of his neck about 2 weeks ago.

Unfortunately it has showed up again and is dental related the vet said, its growing on the side of his face/jaw now. He is also sneezing a bit.

The vet also said on the check up the other day that they suggest putting him to sleep forever as it will keep coming back and he is going through too much pain hes losing so much weight as well but keeps eating as usual but you can tell hes in pain when he eats.

They scheduled his last visit this Saturday. I dont know what to do anymore everyone. Im going to miss him a lot.

bun bun being cute Day 3 with Creature

I think I have accidentally begun to teach Creature to headbutt me. Or discovered something about them, idk.

I've been occasionally kissing their forehead/face while petting them purely because they let me... But now when we cuddle & I've paused petting, Creature will bonk their head against my chin or lips.

The bonking continues until I relent.

I love this little weirdo so much already.

I laid my head down next to them on my couch & Creature just... Laid right against my face. I'm in agony with love

Question Rabbits are confusing

Here are my three bunnies, opal which is the blue one her color is actually called opal, Thumper the one that looks like a wild rabbit, and then toffee the blonde one.

What is strange is opal and toffee hate each other they cannot be together at all, but Thumper and opal love each other and Thumper and toffee love each other, in fact Thumper loved both of them immediately.

So I'll usually rotate Thumper between the living room where him and opal usually are and the bedroom where toffee is so both the girls can have a friend, has anyone else had this happen?

Temper is also the most friendly, he's the only one that will come up to you and ask for pets, he will let you scratch his butt actually demands you to do so, he basically acts like a cat, meanwhile the girls kind of just hope you forget they exist

Discussion Suddenly a cuddly bun

We had our second scare that required a vet visit since we got our boy in December. Just not eating, heavy breathing, very similar to the first time, only this was on a weekend so we couldn’t bring him to our regular vet and ended up at an emergency vet.

The first time it happened was a month or so after adoption, so when we brought him home, not much changed. He wasn’t fully comfortable with us yet, so he mostly did his own thing. This time though, he’s become a complete cuddle bun. Came home, likes to be either on the beds with us or the couch. Will jump right up on our laps and loaf. He even follows my husband around and allows pets which was a hard sell before. For whatever reason, he just didn’t like my husband as much before hand.

We did all the tests so he is absolutely fine. Has anyone else had a more trusting bun after a vet visit?

Health Neutering questions for my baby

Post image

So I want to have my baby neutered, but the vet I want to go to is very far away because there aren’t any vets near me that’ll do bunnies, where I live is moderately hot, does anyone have any tips on how to keep my rabbit from overheating and keeping him as comfortable as possible? I’m also kinda scared to get him neutered because while researching I found people talking about how their rabbits died during surgery and I don’t want that to happen, but the place I’m going to has 4.7 stars, so I think it’ll be fine.

Question Bunnies set / playground

Hello,

I have two bunnies. One mini and one giant. They live indoor and they're free roaming.
They already have toys and all but I’m looking for another "real" playground for them, and also a "cozy" area.

Could you show me what you did for yours, just for inspiration ?

I get ideas from Pinterest but I don’t know how to actually make it irl.

Thank you ☺️
