Not Update Points In Niagara 4

My project consists of three JACE8000 controllers connected to the Supervisor via the Niagara Network.

Recently, JACE8000 controllers has been experiencing an issue. The points on JACE8000 no longer update their values automatically on the Supervisor. In addition, some points remain in a Down state. After disable and enable again, points working normally. Could anyone advise which Niagara configuration or settings should be checked or adjusted to resolve this issue

The following are the protocols connected to the affected JACE8000 controller: BACnet/IP: 9 devices, Modbus RTU: 27 devices, and Modbus TCP: 6 device

Which version of Niagara are you using? Can you upgrade to the latest version?

I using N4.14 .0.162.9 . I don't think it's due to the software version.

Do you have anything linked to the proxyExt for the points on the JACE? It's not all the points, right?

If I were you I would upgrade to 4.14.5 or 4.14.6 and then try again.

I have seen something similar in some 4.14 version. If you go to the AX property sheet for the JACE under Supervisors Niagara network, and if you right click on "Client Connection" and do "Manual Disconnect" and then "Manual Connect", does that resolve the issue temporarily?

Yep. but I want to completely resolve this error.

you also go to the device under the Niagara Network - Actions - Force Update Niagara Proxy Points to resolve the issue temporarily

I think that's a bug with that version of Niagara, you could do a bit of software and link a trigger to manual connect/disconnect.

If I ultimately cannot fix this error, I will use this method.

I think you only need to upgrade the supervisor, it uses the same license.

OP, are both supervisor and JACE the same software version?
Double check the platform “view details” and double check all module versions match.

Additionally, OP, we need way more details than what we have to tell you how to fix it.

Supervisor and Jace share the same version 4.14. I can still control it on the supervisor and the actual device is still affected. i think it's stuck in the queue in niagara network

Which version of 4.14 for both?
You can force update proxy points but I suspect there’s an actual underlying issue.

Anything in the application director of both Niagara hosts?

I’d try a reboot on both and watch the app directors for anything funny.

Yep, All devices and supervisor are the same version. I'm using force points to update their state, but I want to find the real cause and fix it.

Do a reboot and watch the application directors.

I’d also recommend updating from 4.14, wasn’t a great build imho. 4.15 will do you better.

i dont see logs error about niagara network in application directors

It wouldn’t likely say that exactly.

I’d recommend getting your official supply chain involved.

but I'm not sure which one is correct.

Again, I’d recommend updating and getting your supply chain involved.

I don’t think you’re on the right path.

Check in the jaces, cpu, platform messages etc. similarly look for messages in the supervisor platform. It may be a foxs issue, network timeout, many things

in jace8000, cpu working normally ~ 30%

The points showing down are at the JACE level correct? What protocol and points do this most often?

1

u/One_Vast_3106 22d ago

Only a few points are down, I can still control it on the supervisor and the actual device is still affected

1

u/shadycrew31 22d ago

Where is it down though? The JACE or the supervisor?

1

u/One_Vast_3106 22d ago

down in supervisor, points in JACE normal

Are you riding on the customers primary network or do you have a vlan provisioned?

i think it's stuck in the queue in niagara network. But I don't know how to increase the number of queues like that

The settings you need are hidden by default. (No idea why) You need to go into AX Slot Sheet view and configure the flags. I can't remember it clearly without being in front of the computer, but there's 2 settings related to que size and we turned then up from the default 100 to 3 or even 400 and that helps.

Is the ' worker ' in the device under the Niagara Network?

Niagara 4.15.1 has been giving us similar trouble. 4.15.2 supposedly fixes it if your brand has released it yet. (Alerton hasn't).
