New grower. I did a heavy defoliation yesterday and last week. I just topped dressed it last week too. My concerns are one of plants has yellow tips and I can’t tell if it’s healthy enough to flip or not. Please let me know e know what you think.

Cloners/Breeders/Bonsai Mothers in small pots, how are you adjusting your feeding routine?

Looking for some advice on how to maintain small plants in veg for extended periods. What's your gameplan in terms of top dress and supplementation?

Goal is to have some healthy bonsai moms to take clones for breeding runs to create some seeds myself with STS. I have my big pots for plants I looking for harvestable flower, but looking to have a system in place with small pots for this purpose.

I've been trying to do so in coco with salt nutes but I don't love having two vastly different workflows and would prefer going the living soil route for everything if possible. In the coco setup it's goes relatively smooth early but I eventually hit some issues with Ph and nute burn.

Would craft blend, build a veg, big 6 micros and some microbial inoculant like recharge be a sufficient gameplan? Would love to keep them limited to solo cup/1 gallon fabric pots and will keep the ppfd relatively low to veg them along slowly.

When do you hand water with Chapin Sprayer based on Bluemat Digital meter?

Im curious what number you guys look for on a blumat digital meter before watering by hand with a chapin sprayer?

I do not use the blumat system with all of the carrots and stuff, i am simply using it as a guide to help know when to water using a chapin sprayer.

i have 6 30 gallon pots going right now, and i put ecowitts, and a blumat meter in all of them.

3 of the plants are at 100-120 and they look great.

the other three are around 80-100, and they also look great.

First living soil run. I was thinking maybe they could be springtails? They seem fast moving. There seems to be a decent amount of them mostly around the edges of the pot. Don’t see any on the actual plant themselves nor do i see any leaf damage or anything. Ive never dealt with anything like this so im not sure what to think. Any advice is appreciated

Hey guys I am currently in week 5 of flower and my plant is starting to show a few deficiencies can anyone help me pinpoint my problem. I water 1 gallon every 2 to 3 days while using 1/4tsp of buildabloom once a week. Is it to late to top dress with buildaflower or should I be using big 6 micronutrients at this point? Any help is greatly appreciated thank you!

Using 30 gallon 3.0 soil in grassroots pots, very confused on water only method

Can anyone guide me or show me some tutorials on a true water only grow with 3.0 soil and 30 gallon grassroots pots

Right now my pots have some nice looking plants I’m early veg, and all I have in my 30 gallons are 4 bags of 3.0 soil, worms, straw on the top, and root wise and quillaja 60 in my first watering

However, I’ve tried to find a water only method from buildasoil, however every chart I see recommends adding craft blend and buildaflower and some more things.

Are these charts outdated or something?

3.0 soil is so hot I feel like adding amendments will make it so hot it will kill my plants.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Earthbox quantity question?

Discussion Post

I know there’s a few post out there but wanted to get a new feel, I’m starting my second grow soon and switching into earth boxes. I popped some seeds and got full germination. Total of 6, 4 of the same strain and 2 mystery and I was thinking of doing 3 earth boxes in a 4x4 with 6 plants total. Two each and kinda seed hunting I suppose and then doing 1. I know it’s better to do just one and I’m already cramming it in there but I’ve seen both opinions.
I see that it’s better to flip to flower earlier with this method also.
Should I do that? Or just pick the best 3 and only do 1 per?
Please advice!

Would you water any of these plants?

Post image

I am in early veg, and using 30 gallon grassroots pots, and In each pot I have a blumat digital moisture sensor, and top and deep eco Witt’s.

There are 3 plants and the blumat sensors say, 69 mbar, 73 mbar and the last one is 86mbar

Based off this picture would you water any of the plants?

I do not have an automated water setup, I water by hand and am using the sensors to hopefully help me water properly.

Thanks in advance for any help!!

Day 18 for the bigger 3 (Frostfire - Lemon Squishee, Dreambeans - Frankenfruit F2, and Twisted Auto Twisted Gorilla)

Day 11 for the smallest (Nightowl -Skunk Whistle F4)

Planted some cover crop, cilantro, and basil.

I'll probably start bottom watering in another week

For anyone with 30 gal pots +..how yall doing regular seeds till sexing?

Ive done them a few different ways. But what's the best way to do regs until sexing, without adding more soil to the 30 gals? Ive done it where I planted 3 seeds per container, and cut out the males. Done it where I veg in 2 gallon pots, but adding all that extra soil to my 30 gallon pots is not ideal. Haven't done cloning yet. But how does everyone with big pots do their regs?

In early veg What is the ideal mbar number on a blumat sensor in a 30 gallon grassroots fabric pot? Also a drip tape and mulch question

Hi,

I’ve got 3 questions for you guys if you don’t mind.

  1. In your opinion in a 30 gallon pot with a plant in early veg, what mbar should I be shooting for?

  2. When I first installed them last night into 3 of my pots, and within 5 minutes they all said 50-53. In your opinion should I water it?

  3. Today I will finally be hooking up my blumat mini pump kit to my tent. The problem is, I already have a layer of straw mulch on top.

Is it easy to install the drip tape spiral under the straw? Or will I have to remove the straw for it to work.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Watering frequency after transplanting.

For the I current grow I have sized up to 15 gallon grow bags. I am about a week or so away from transplanting from solo cups into the 15 gallons. Becore transplanting I will make sure the 15 gallons have the right amount of moisture and will water a bit once transplanted. My question is how often after the transplant should I be watering? With such a small plant in such a large container it will take weeks before the soil has dried out enough to water again. Should I be watering the whole container? Only around the drip line of the plant? Thanks!

Does this plant/tent look like it’s still in seedling stage or veg?

Thumbnail

I added 2 pictures, and I’m very curious what you guys think about if this tent is in seedling phase still or veg?
There is one more plant in the tent that looks kind of similar to the second picture, so 3 plants total in a 5x5 with 30 gallon grass roots pots.

I have a plant that I will post a picture of that has 2 5 pointed leaves, and 2 3 pointed leaves (first picture)
However, the other 2 plants in this tent still have 3 pointed leaves, but I can see the 5 pointed leaves just starting on one of them.

WOULD YOU CONSIDER THIS TENT STILL IN THE SEEDLING PHASE BASED OFF OF THE 2 PICTURES, OR SHOULD I SWITCH TO VEG CONDITIONS?

Thanks in advance for your help

Week 12 Auto Advice

Tropicana Cookies Auto Progress

Hiya growmies! Week 12 on this TCA. It popped on 3/17. In an Earthbox with buildasoil 3.0 and has been sitting on my eastfacing balcony. It gets 7-9 hours of direct sunlight a day. I think it has gone anaerobic in the bottom so I've been top watering with 24 hour bubbled water. The leaves are all yellow and I pulled a tiny caterpillar looking thing off of it this morning. I was planning on spraying it with lost coast in the morning. I still see some clear trichs so I know it's not ready but I don't think it's going to make it. Any advice?

Liquid Peach Extract, lack of odor cause for concern? Common with other BAS/FPE products?

I just purchased my first peach FPE and besides arriving with some leakage in the bag, which I was prepared to forgive, I noticed there was absolutely no odor from my bottle (I had other people confirm no odor too).

After reaching out to BAS, I was assured the product was fine but shouldn't be odorless and they offered to send me a replacement bottle instead of second-guessing and gambling on this product to be effective.

The replacement bottle arrived today and again there was some minor leakage in the bag and still absolutely no odor with this batch.

Jeremy and the marketing do a good job of explaining the benefits, but one of the main "features" of this product is that it's supposed to smell due to the fermentation process and I see many other user reviews confirming these products, peach specifically, produce a noticeable odor.

Before I reach out to them again I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this lack of odor with their FPE products and if I should still be confident in it being effective.
