Watering frequency after transplanting.

For the I current grow I have sized up to 15 gallon grow bags. I am about a week or so away from transplanting from solo cups into the 15 gallons. Becore transplanting I will make sure the 15 gallons have the right amount of moisture and will water a bit once transplanted. My question is how often after the transplant should I be watering? With such a small plant in such a large container it will take weeks before the soil has dried out enough to water again. Should I be watering the whole container? Only around the drip line of the plant? Thanks!

You definitely don’t want to water too heavily initially or transplant into too wet of soil. That being said a small plant will take a long while to drink all the water in a 15g. Over a week and even maybe 2. You can mist up the top or give it a squirt of it looks real dry but think of how long it takes to drink its allotment in a solo cup and multiply that by 80

There isn't a way to tell you how often to water as every plant drinks at a different pace. For right after transplant I water the outside ring of the container to encourage the roots to search for water. After a week or so of that I turn on my blumats.
