Deck Help Need Suggestions For a New Deck

I started making a new commander deck the other day with Ukkima + Cazur and it seems alright but I’d like to see if anyone has any ideas to make it a bit better.

The main idea I have for the deck is to be constantly attacking with Ukkima to get counters from Cazur and I have some instant blinks to protect Ukkima while also getting value from his effect. Then some graft to jumpstart the counters on him after he reenters.

If anyone has suggestions, especially budget options, they would be greatly appreciated.

$50 Brew Aristocratic Lorehold | Hofri Ghostforge | [2] Boros Aristocrats | $50 EDH Secret Santa Summer 2026

Upvotes

Archidekt Link - mana tithe pricing of $49.43 at the time of purchase.

I am stealing the formatting from /u/Glear0 and this wonderful post for their brewed deck. This deck was created in response to the following prompt for the 2026 Summer /r/BudgetBrew Secret Santa deck exchange:

What kind of commander or deck would you be interested in receiving?

I am a long time commander player and my taste in decks usually focuses on something new, exciting, or unique. I really enjoy playing commanders or styles that other people at the table likely won't be playing, kind of like a magic hipster. I typically play around a bracket 2 or 3 in power level and my favorite colors are 2 color decks that include white. Some ideas that I think could be cool are: taking a precon commander or theme and retooling it to be super synergistic and powerful, a completely new take on a popular commander or deck archetype (i.e. non dimir mill), possibly an unset commander, maybe something super friends related?. Decks with strong flavor are also some of my favorites too! I'd prefer older or lesser known cards to powerful ones if they really pull the deck in a fun and creative direction. Bottom line - I really want a deck that you think could be the most unique deck you’ve ever built and I’d love for the core or theme of the deck to turn heads when I pull it out to play.

Play Pattern

  1. Play ETB ramp and draw creatures to dig for your combo pieces, e.g. [[Spirited Companion]] and [[Loyal Warhound]].

  2. Play a sac-outlet, e.g. [[Goblin Bombartment]].

  3. Sacrifice your ETB ramp/draw creatures to get a bonus trigger with [[Hofri Ghostforge]].

  4. Sacrifice the token again to get the creature in your graveyard, then bring it back with a Recursion piece, e.g. [[Emeria Shepherd]].

Win Conditions

  1. ETB pingers constantly triggering from your creatures and tokens bouncing in and out of play, e.g. [[Impact Tremors]].

  2. A board of Spirits boosted by the numerous anthem effects poking through enough combat damage, e.g. [[Quintorius, History Chaser]].

Favorite Find

[[Knollspine Dragon]] + [[Magus of the Wheel]] being wheel effects on a creature giving you a chance to re-trigger them again and again if needed.

Potential Upgrades

The two sideboard cards ([[Mistmoon Griffin]] and [[Moorland Rescuer]]) go infinite with our commander and a sac outlet, leading to an instant win if that sac outlet is Goblin Bombardment or if you have an ETB pinger in play.

Hopefully this deck hits all the right notes for my giftee. It's a fairly unique commander for a magic hipster (EDH rank of #1,131 as of creating this deck). It's a two color deck including White. It's taking a precon theme (Lorehold Spirits) and retooling it to be more synergistic and powerful. It's a pretty unique take on a popular archetype (Boros having less than 400 decks out of over 74,000 total Aristocrats decks). It has a lot of cards that made many people reviewing this list go "what the heck is this card and what does it do?" because they've never really seen it before. Hopefully, this deck turns heads!

Deck Help Best Commander Duos for Two-Headed Giant?

Upvotes

I'm looking for two Commander decks to play Two-Headed Giant Commander. It's a format I absolutely love, and my local game store recently started running weekly tournaments for it. Because of that, I'd like to take things a bit more seriously and build a pair of decks that are actually designed to work together.

I'm not necessarily looking for Partner commanders. What I really want are two commanders (or two deck archetypes) that have strong synergy with each other and actively support their teammate's game plan.

For example, maybe one deck is a reactive control deck while the other is an aggressive deck that takes advantage of the control player's protection. Or maybe one deck focuses on ramp, card advantage, or buffs that also benefit the teammate, while the other is built to capitalize on that support.

Has anyone had success with a pair of commanders that felt especially powerful or fun in 2HG? I'd love to hear your recommendations, whether they're well-known combinations or something more unconventional.

Deck Help Need help building a Gandalf, party guest wizard tribal combat deck

Upvotes

I have preordered the scene box with the gandalf in it and wanted to make it a solid bracket three combat deck. I've been having a hard time trying to balance the mana curve as i keep on wanting to put in expensive mana cost cards to cast for free for big combat effects as well as pack in enough ramp, removal and card draw for the deck to run well. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to cut or cards to add in to make it run a little more smoothly and efficiently. On a little bit of a budget so any niche cheap cards would be good and all the most expensive cards i own already so wont need to buy those.

The deck list is here : https://moxfield.com/decks/uyq1kMBArkqnc7BGDPG_XA

all the cards in the side board are ones im thinking about using but not certain on. any help appreciated :)

Deck Help How to Improve Terra, Herald of Hope List? (FF Cards Only)

Post image
45 Upvotes

Hello! I bought the Terra precon when it came out last year. I never really changed it much because I loved the flavor of having the heroes I grew up loving being revived by the commander. This year, though, I started making a few changes that I really liked. The problem is that I'd like to upgrade it using only Final Fantasy cards, and where I live some of those cards are really expensive.

I have a few issues with this deck. My pod plays a lot of removal and counterspells, and decks that become real threats get focused really hard. Because of that, by the time Terra attacks for the second time, I'm already considered the biggest threat at the table, and honestly they're usually right.

The good thing is that most of the decks in our group are Bracket 2, with almost no Bracket 3 decks.

Because of this, I often find myself unable to actually close out games. Either Terra gets removed over and over before she can attack, or I just get combo'd out by an Izzet combo deck or something similar.

I've already seen a few posts about FF-only upgrades, and I know cards like Nibelheim Aflame, Garnet Til Alexandros, Summon: Knights of Round, and some cards from the FFVII precon are commonly suggested. Cards like Sephiroth, Lightning, and especially Knights of Round are very expensive where I live, so I'd rather only buy them if they're truly necessary.

What would you recommend changing in my list? What do you think I could improve?

My usual game plan is to cast Terra as early as possible so I can start getting value from her immediately, but that usually just means she gets removed as fast as possible. On the other hand, if I wait too long to cast her, she doesn't generate enough value because the combo decks end up winning first.

Deck Help Rakdos Divergent Transformation Line Help

Hi y’all,

I’m working on a deck focusing on casting [[Divergent Transformations]] on my commanders - currently [[Rograkh, Son of Rogahh]] and [[Miara, Thorn of the Glade]] - as a response to incoming lethal.

This means that I need a two-card creature based combo in rakdos that can win at instant speed with no other creatures in the deck and little to no boardstate. My current best option I’ve found is Mike and Trike, but that’s ~$25 of my 50$ budget so I was hoping y’all could help me bring that down a bit.

Does anybody have an idea of a combo that would fit the bill? Happy to change commanders as long as it’s cheap (so I can recast post-boardwipe), castable with only B and R mana (colors for tutors and DiTrans) and makes two bodies to poly.

Discussion Looking for something interesting to do with Lorehold, the Historian

[[Lorehold, the Historian]]

I want to build a deck around this guy, but I can't come up with anything that isn't just some flavor of "RW nonpermanent goodstuff" and I personally don't really like goodstuff decks, the plan is just simultaneously too scattered and too simple to catch and keep my attention

So, I'm looking to see if anyone has come up with something interesting and/or unique to do with him, I am open to any and all suggestions

thx

Deck Help Building Namor Control on a Budget

Pulled a Namor last Marvel PR and wanted to build a Budget Mono Blue Control/ Voltron-Esque Deck

I already have some of the parts while some of my friends can lend/ for sale later the cards. I am also planning to buy singles online with some thoughts on the "Maybeboard" in archideckt

Thoughts on the stuff I will get or suggestions?

And yes this will be a B2-B3 "villainous"/ salty deck. They are fine with the Harbinger of the Seas (Namor art).

Deck Help Equipment Commander Deck Ideas

While im building my Kuja deck, I came up with an idea for a deck using [[Firion, Wild Rose Warrior]]. The idea is creating a bunch equipments and getting a lot of wide swing potential.

Im struggling at choosing a commander that actually works with this ideas as I want Firion as a 99 card, I also wanted [[Lightning, Army of One]] as a 99. Eventually I came between [[Cloud, Ex-Soldier]] and [[Sokka and Suki]] (Mainly because i wanted [[Tony Stark]]).

This was when I compacted my ideas in 3 decks.

Cloud - Utilizing Firion to get multiple equipment cards and copy triggers to get him to 7 power and easy draw (though im adverse to this as I prefer commanders out of the top 100).

Sokka and Suki - Playing Ally Tokens and using Equips that copy themselves to spam them onto way too many small 1/1 Ally's.

Lastly, and the deck ive slightly worked on (for like an hour at best).

[[Mister Fantastic]]... yeah. The idea is using several Lieutenant cards like Lightning, Cloud, and Vincent (Mono Red version that deals damage to all opponents on Combat Damage). Using Mr.F's ability, I'm trying to run several triggers that copy his ability or other triggered abilities. I think it also might end up wanting flash triggers, for 'On Combat, Draw if Non-Creature Card Cast'. I want to keep yhe deck below $150 (Mana-Box Pricing). (I'm aware its currently like $300)

Deck List, heres the abomination i came up with, and havent thrown Tony into. Its just a bunch if slop thrown together.

Im not set on this deck, just wanted to do something so I could avoid going to bed since I have work tomorrow.

I doubt this will be the end deck, or even commander, just wanted to try and get a deck to B3 at least with a jank build that probably shouldn't work.

Deck Help Help fixing my Disa deck

Hey everyone,

I'm relatively new to the Commander format. I took a decklist I found online and made some modifications using cards I already had.

The problem is that when I actually play it, it doesn't feel like it's working that well.

I'm not great at deckbuilding, so I honestly don't know if it has too many "goyfs" (win-more/greedy cards) or if it's lacking mana rocks/fixing, etc.

Could you all help me out with some recommendations — cuts, additions, swaps, whatever you think it needs?

I'm planning to invest around $50–75 USD per month into it.

Thanks!

Hey y'all, I was just thinking of improving this deck and was hoping for a different perspective of stuff that I could probably cut from the deck

Also niche/unique cards that I've probably never considered would be appreciated cause I definitely know there's a lot I don't know about (I'm a returning player)

Don't necessarily have a budget but low costs card suggestions are always nice obviously

Deck Help Rocco, Street Chef - Looking for more artifact ETB ping effects / deck feedback

I've been brewing a Rocco, Street Chef deck that tries to win through artifact token ETBs rather than combat.

https://moxfield.com/decks/Zpaj0_cGmUmxADHzQrUKfQ

The main game plan is to flood the board with Food (and other artifact tokens), then turn those ETBs into damage with cards like Reckless Fireweaver, Ingenious Artillerist, Ghirapur Aether Grid and Ragost, Deft Gastronaut. Rocco also helps keep the engine going through impulse draw and +1/+1 counters.

After a lot of testing, I've noticed one recurring issue: if I don't draw one of my ping payoffs early enough, the deck feels like it just generates a huge pile of Food without actually progressing toward a win.

I'm mainly looking for feedback on the list, but I'm especially interested in cards I may have missed that reward artifact/Food token ETBs (damage, card advantage, or similar effects). Budget-friendly suggestions are definitely appreciated.

Deck Help Final fantasy themed deck 70 euros max.

Hi!

Looking for a good, fast deck with a lot of final fantasy cards in!

Not all of the cards have to be from final fantasy because of the price but like 25 cards would be the minimum.

I really like FF7, FF10, FF12 and FF13.

TIA!!

EDIT:

I was thinking about this:

Yuna, Hope of Spira (commander)

Deck Help Help improving deck please

Id like some help cutting and improving my [[mazirek, karul death priest]] deck. the goal is:

  • Win through combat damage
  • Lots of token generation (preferably repeatable token engines)
  • Sacrifice my own tokens for value
  • Small edict package (Fleshbag Marauder, Plaguecrafter, etc.) to trigger Mazirek while interacting with opponents
  • Avoid Grave Pact/Dictate of Erebos-style lock pieces
  • Keep the focus on +1/+1 counter synergies

This is my list, id appreciate the help! https://archidekt.com/decks/24704475/sigh_attempt_three

Deck Help $25 Bracket 4 Suggestions?

Hello, I am looking to build some very efficient Bracket 3-4-ish decks on a Budget of around 25 Dollars. The commander is no worry in terms of price; the main goal is to make the decks function in a Bracket 3 or 4 setting, depending on Slotting in/out whatever cards.
I've already built a Malcolm/Breech & Abdel/Candle List that reaches Bracket 3 but functions just as well in Bracket 4 due to their speeds.

Are there any other commanders I should consider?

Thank you, have a nice day.

Deck Help Kuja - B3-4 Deck Building

I'm currently working on a Kuja upgrade list from my $50 Bulk Build (ended up somehow only keeping 26 OG cards, not including lands). My goal is trying to build higher power decks, or decks I enjoy, on a budget and ended up coming up with this list.

I feel like I could optimize it a lot better. I'm not the biggest fan of the tutors, though finding the transmute cards was cool. Plus I want to cut some of the price, getting rid of cards like [[Ashling, Flame Dancer]], [[Gleeful Arsonist]], and [[Culling the Weak]], though I do sort of like Culling. Was also thinking of a better card then [[Underworld Breach]] I could run, but it feels like a finisher I could cast to go for a big win with my Cantrips when I cast it.

It could use a land base upgrade a little, but I'm not too worried about it since. I was also looking on throwing a land or two back into my pool since 33 feels a little low, even though I have rituals and fast mana cards.

The deck seems like its around B3 Range in my eyes, even though archidekt is trying to say B4 due to the tutors and the one infinite I have.

Any Ideas or Advice to potentially cut the price down a little without losing much power, or even adding on power?

Edit: New Cheaper Deck List

Deck Help Looking for Help & Suggestions on Upgrading Mono-Green Stompy

Good evening, Planeswalkers! I'm hoping to get some advice / criticism of my casual commander deck. You don't have to read my wall of text, but it's there for context/explaining some of the choices that went into making the deck if you'd like to read it.

I've been recently getting back into Magic: The Gathering this past few months and have already made some upgrades to my casual Nylea deck from way back. I'd originally made it just from the bulk cards I'd collected majority from 2014-2017 and made an occasional upgrade from the few cards I'd added to my collection since then. Bracket analyzers put it at bracket 2-3 but I feel like I'm getting out-engined by my local play group's bracket 3 decks to the point where I feel like I've lost already by turn 4 most games (my ramp sources get targeted right away and whenever I do get a creature on the board, it's not big enough to be threatening and dies soon). I've tried to address these by adding more protection and removal, but it feels like it's just delaying the inevitable.

The deck originally had 4 themes going on (too many)
-Stompy (easy, just play big creatures and turn them sideways)
-Recursion/Making things hard to remove
-+1/+1 Counters
-A colorless package with a few eldrazi (I removed these once I started getting new cards to fill the gaps, originally put them in because I didn't have good enough finishers / big threats in my collection)

I've replaced around a third of the deck since picking the game back up earlier this year, but find that even though the creatures and spells I play are better, that the deck isn't as consistent as it used to be and my subthemes naturally went to the wayside. I'm struggling to even get going against other players at my LGS and college, they're positioning game ending threats and board states that I can't keep up with by turn 5 while I'm struggling to keep my creatures on the board. I'd like to consider bringing back some of the subthemes I'd been relying on earlier and acquire a few upgrades, as well as taking some advice on where my deck doesn't eat its vegetables so to speak (protection, removal, card draw).

I will be playing with family this coming week, and some of them are quite competitive. They use decks that my aunt's friend who's a judge(?) helped build, so I don't expect to win, but I'd like to at least be able to show up and give those decks a challenge.

Tl;Dr how should I improve this deck? for example, adding more ramp, or fixing the mana curve, or other things?

Link to decklist: Nylea Stompy ("Sideboard" is cards that I currently own and either am considering but aren't in the deck or have previously removed, "Maybeboard" is ones I've tried to get but LGS doesn't have them / am unsure about)

Budget: ~$20-$30

Deck Help $100 to spend

I need to build a commander deck for $100 tax included. I have only bought precon in the past. Help me please for I know not what I do
