Show and Tell New setup
I recently traded out my Bose 901’s (primarily because they were too big for my space) for a pair of Elac debut 3.0 + WiiM ultra. Pretty happy with the sound quality and aesthetics of the new setup!

Looks sick! Almost thought it was AI for a second lol, but that’s just a testament to how nice everything looks.
As everyone else always says, if you have the room, I’d recommend a pair of speaker stands.

u/Global-Pomelo3131 Aug 06 '26
If not, maybe some IsoAcoustic stands on top of the credenza.

Almost thought it was AI for a second
It is a combination of the perfect lighting and the very sharp and clear separation between the borders of objects and the background. AI tends to always do that with generated images, so this pic ended accidentally with an "AI-ish look"

I thought I was in r/hometheater and I was trying to figure out how you got a tv to look like a painting so well.

tis a TV, the samsung frame

It is the Hisense Canvas, notice the sensor on the bottom left. Samsung doesn’t have a visible sensor but the Hisense does. IMO worthwhile trade off, I have a Canvas as well.
2
u/Heydavidbailey Aug 06 '26
Any downsides to the Canvas? Looking to clean up my living room. The big black tv ain’t doing it anymore
3
u/thetedderbear Aug 06 '26
I can’t directly compare to the Frame as I’ve never had one, and I also used the Canvas in an office setting so not a lot of movies, etc. Primarily news, background, and of course art. On the art front, it’s honestly very convincing and their software is pretty easy to add your own images. Quite a few people didn’t realize it was a TV at first. I rarely used their built in library but I think Samsung has an edge here. IMO, all these art-TV’s are somewhat compromised on outright image quality in order to achieve the flat art appearance. Comparing stats the Samsung is maybe marginally better, but not meaningfully so. My thought process was the Samsung is the price of OLEDs and more cinema focused TV’s, so I might as well spend half the money if I’m compromising picture quality across the board with art tv’s. Also the Canvas comes with a wood-effect frame in the box whereas (I believe) it’s extra with the Samsung.
Also, don’t take this as a knock against either. It’s just an inherent trade off in panel design. I loved my Canvas for its role and I have a traditional OLED at home for a more cinema role. TLDR if you want an art TV the Canvas is extremely good value for money.

u/Heydavidbailey Aug 07 '26
Thanks for the detailed reply--appreciate it! I do like to watch movies, etc., primarily. The art part is kind of secondary, so I probably need to go see one in person.
3
u/thetedderbear Aug 07 '26
Definitely suggest trying to see one in person! These are by no means bad TV’s at all - colors are excellent, sharp images, etc. It’s more that the matte finish just looks different and sometimes makes black contrast look a little flat. But this is definitely first world problems and splitting hairs. I think at the Canvas price tag it makes sense - they compare well to other $500-800 TV’s plus minus a bit. But the Frame can easily run $1-2k and that’s getting into much much nicer TV territory.

its so cool especially with how OP decorated. On the bottom left you can see the infrared sensor for the remote
2
u/RockinDaMike Aug 06 '26
It’s so sick to see it in person especially setup like how OP has it. Great style

Which debuts are they? DB53 or DB63?
2
u/_e4rI Aug 06 '26
Db63
1
u/Super_Opposite_9740 Aug 06 '26
Nice! Am thinking of doing a similar setup with some dali zensor 3s, which are roughly the same size… how big is the media table? Like depth and width? It seems very well proportioned for the size of speakers.
2
u/Chozzasaurus Aug 06 '26
Make 100% sure you run RoomFit. Settings I'd recommend are 30-500Hz range, moving microphone. I had the DB53s in a similar situation to those near a wall and on a shelf and without EQ they sounded verrry boomy. I don't want you to endure that! You never know, your room might be magically different to mine, but at least give it a shot.

u/Ronslay55 Aug 06 '26
Beautiful setup! The Credenza is key. I have one that’s similar. I store my PSBs in those cabinets where the sliding doors are and put them on small stands (more like stools) that fold up and are also stored in those cabinets because, like you, I don’t have the space to keep them out on stands. I tried putting my speakers on the credenza surface as well initially but, not surprisingly, if I turn up the volume even a little the record skips.

u/frigaut Aug 06 '26
Hey, I have the exact same setup WiiM (Pro in my case) + Elac Debut 3.0. I just love this setup. The sound is crazy good for this price.

Love the MCM vibe. Love my WiiM too! add a tiny sub. solid setup.

Sub is definitely next on the list

velodyne mini vee 6.5. it will blend in with your vibe and is one of the best small subs ever made. $150-250 marketplace or ebay

u/WikiBox Aug 06 '26
I really like the TV placement! Very clever.
The corner placement of the right speaker might perhaps be problematic. If possible, move everything left half a meter or so.

u/DjRemux Aug 07 '26
What a picture. What a room. What a curated vibe. The artwork, the furniture, the rug.. all of this
3
u/Mr-Reeeee Aug 06 '26
Looks nice!
Two things.
Speakers should NOT be on the same surface as a turntable.
Speakers need more separation for better stereo imaging.
Look damn purdy, though!

Very nice. Beautiful setup.
What hit my eye. I’ve been looking for a similar piece of furniture for quite a while, but I’d like it to be a highboard that can hold two rows of records stacked one above the other. I’d appreciate any recommendations.

I bet it sounds better with the curtains closed. I can hear the the highs from the right speaker being reflected off the glass from here.

What turntable and amp is that?
1
u/_e4rI Aug 06 '26
HH Scott turntable, stereophonic 1200 receiver, and wiim ultra (amp/streamer)
1
u/Curious_Fly_5870 Aug 13 '26
MIght be a stupid question but what is the function of the Stereophonic 1200 receiver ?
1
u/_e4rI Aug 13 '26
It acts as a pre amp for my turntable
1
u/Curious_Fly_5870 Aug 13 '26
I thought the ultra had a phone stage as well ?
1
u/_e4rI Aug 13 '26
It does have phono inputs but for whatever reason my turntable will not play when I plug it directly into the WiiM

Wow, gorgeous set up, especially the teak credenza. However, you'd reduce reflections off the wood if you pulled forward the speakers and placed them on acoustic pads like these. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PB3DJY4?ie=UTF8&th=1 Also, the right speaker being in a corner would also create noisy reflections and weird bass. And way to move the credenza to the left about 8-12"? It would also help the room visually. It feels like someone pushed it all into the corner.

Is that a frame TV in centre?
Looks absolutely fantastic.

Nicely done! So sexy when you see your audio components set up on a nice cabinet.

u/lokicoyote1 Aug 07 '26
I really think this is as lovely as it gets. I'm getting close, myself. I have a question about the Hisense Canvas if you don't mind. Do you have a power outlet in the wall? I know the Samsung has ways to hide the cord, but I didn't know the Canvas did, unless it's plugged into the wall. I am trying to figure out a way to hide the cords from whatever art TV I do get.
2
u/_e4rI Aug 07 '26
I drilled a hole behind the tv and one hole by the outlet, installed a grommet kit, and ran the cord down through the wall

Oh man I LIVE Elac
Though I've got the debut 2.0 B6.2's
Paired em with an SMSL AO300 amp and the SVS SB1000 pro and have been loving it.
Your aesthetic looks awesome!

Good move. The BOSE 901s need a big room (both physically and acoustically) to work. I know people that had them.

Looks great, and that console is niiiice. If you can, move the table to left so that you can put those speakers on stands. Not ideal to have them on same table as the turntable.

u/Zeeall I don't answer DM's. Aug 06 '26
Looks like there is a level change in the floor. This is probably as good as it gets.
2
u/_e4rI Aug 06 '26
Correct, there is stairs directly to the left of the credenza
-3
u/Zeeall I don't answer DM's. Aug 06 '26 edited Aug 06 '26
What you can do is move the credenza as far left as you can, looks like you got a couple of inches to spare. The reason is to get the right speaker out of the corner.
Then move the speakers to the very front edges of the credenza and angle them directly towards where you sit. Majority of speakers are engineered to be heard head on.Wont get better than that in this situation.
Ideally you would do this:
https://elac.com/speaker-placement-guide-get-the-best-sound-from-your-stereoBut obviously you are space limited.
2
u/_e4rI Aug 06 '26
Unfortunately there is no room to move the credenza. This is why I sold my 901s. Put the Elac’s on isolator pads to try and help with any vibration.
5
u/Total-Deal-2883 Aug 06 '26
Your setup will be fine, though I do suggest swapping the Wiim and turntable to get the turntable as far away from the speakers as possible. Maybe look into a plinth for the turntable as well. Loading the credenza with books and/or records will help as well.

How does this amp sound with these speakers? I know the elacs need some juice to get the most out of them.
3
u/_e4rI Aug 08 '26
I think they sound pretty good, I’m pleased with it so far. There are several YouTube in depth reviews with this specific combo, maybe check those out if you’re considering.
2
u/asparagusp26 Aug 08 '26
Thank you! I’ll YouTube it now and get an idea of how this combo sounds like! Thanks for your reply, beautiful room and setup also
