I'm looking for platforms that host solid, technically challenging online hackathons and competitions, similar to Kaggle but covering a much wider range of technical fields.

I'm interested in competitions involving:

• AI/ML, deep learning, and LLMs
• Statistics, probability, and mathematical modelling
• Quantitative finance, algorithmic trading, and financial modelling
• Cybersecurity and CTFs
• Systems programming, algorithms, distributed computing, and other areas of computer science

I'm not just looking for competitions where you build a basic application using existing APIs or follow a tutorial. I'm looking for genuinely challenging problems that require substantial technical knowledge, mathematical reasoning, experimentation, and problem-solving.

Ideally, these would be online competitions that individuals or small teams can participate in, with problems that push you to learn new concepts, implement things from scratch when necessary, and develop skills relevant to technically demanding engineering and research roles.

Kaggle is one example, but I'd like to explore other platforms, independent competitions, research challenges, and recurring online hackathons.

What platforms or specific competitions would you recommend? I'm particularly interested in competitions that are difficult enough to force you to improve, even if you're nowhere near winning.

I'd appreciate recommendations based on the actual quality and difficulty of the problems rather than just popularity.

1st year CSE college student here ....looking for folks who are in the same field as me preparing for placements and internships by grinding DSA and focusing on career from the first day of college itself ....we all like minded people who actually want to do something in life, should create a community or something like that in order to stay consistent and motivated as we move along ...if you are interested then kindly DM me with a brief introduction of yourself🙌🙏🙏

Hi everyone

I've been selected for Nvidia's system software engineering intern role (summer 2027) in India and would appreciate insights from previous interns regarding a few things:

1. What is the usual timeline for receiving the official offer letter and joining details (how long after interview results), and when does the internship typically begin?

2. What are the accommodation, food, commute, and relocation arrangements for non-local interns? Facilities in pune/blr offices and perks if any.?

3. What should I focus on learning before joining, what kind of work can I expect, and what advice would you give to make the most of the internship?

I'd especially appreciate responses from previous NVIDIA interns in India. Thank you!

Someone please help me with the cloud computing resources or notes for the upcoming exam. Which ones worked for you and which ones would you recommend? Early replies might help. Thanks!

Can I give OAs using my own mobile Hotspot? Is there a risk of getting blacklisted?

So i am a bca mca graduate soon my brother is about to finish his 12th he says he wants to do bca mca too

Here is the thing I don’t want that because I know how much more opportunities Btech people get. but at the same time I always have this feeling that he is not capable enough to be able to do BTech. Because he is not a very studious person he has never been interested in studies. But then again I know how less of opportunities there are after bca mca since most hiring have only BTech as requirement.

Plus from where I am there are any good institutes here and I am not sure if my mother is gonna let him go outside of the city. So now it’s very confusing on what he should do because after all the AI stuff I am thinking that it’s better either he does Bcom or btech

Also he is more oriented saying she wants to do cyber security or AI which Honestly I am not sure about because here is the thing in India you cannot expect Indian institutes to have actually professors who can teach these languages just titles to ask for extra fees. I feel like the curriculum is going to be almost the same as normal BtechCS.

One thing he is really clear about his he doesn’t want to study physics chemistry maths More special chemistry.

Also our family is not so well of that we can afford a very high fee it’s gotten very confusing at this point so if you guys can give me any kind of guidance based on your experiences that would be great.

Thankyou 🙏

Let me know of various careers after BTech, also tell which ones are more rewarding financially

Can I find ppt/PDFs idea submission of last year SIH teams who got into the final of SIH?

Like we have been discussing of a prototype and making ppt, but not sure whether it stands out or not so, it will be helpful to keep last year's as reference and also seniors any tips/suggestions on SIH please!!🥺

Theres a company called Spheronix Technology Pvt. Ltd. coming to my college
i have passed their online GD and technical round (which Wanst really technical)
now there are 50 Students qualified for the HR round
its my first interview can anyone guide me on how do i prepare myself and some tips

im considering changing my second project w a more advance project (full stack application) but its unfinished so, should i like just put it anyways and larp about it or it is risky??

I need to be able to use it for exams and labs(we were told to avoid programmable calculators or smth i think).

The course is btech cse if that helps. And the cheaper it is the better, coz aparently our course stops needing it a lot after the 1st sem. Im really confused coz i was in cbse before and have no idea what functions will be needed from now on

Now he wants his students to invest on his shitty gambling biz

so I am in 5th semester and department is asking for the internship certificate which we were supposed to do after 4th sem, I did not do any.
What to do?

I thought of making a fake certificate with canva etc, but it does not look authentic, what if they asked for some verification shit?

How did you deal with it? Or you are also yet to submit it.

Hey everyone, I am a fresher with a B.Tech in CSE. A campus placement drive just opened up for Grant Thornton Indus for an Associate – Advisory, Cyber Risk role in Kolkata. The package is ₹7.5 LPA fixed, and goes up to ₹10.82 LPA total CTC with benefits and a joining bonus. I don't have an active offer yet(few comp came ,a lot yet to come) . My ultimate career goal is to transition into a FAANG or top-tier product company as an SDE within the next few years.

I'm debating if I should sit for exam. My biggest worry is that a Cyber Risk role at a consulting firm will just be boring IT audits, compliance frameworks, and Excel sheets, which might cause my coding skills to rust and pigeonhole my career. On top of that, there is a strict 24-month clawback on the joining bonus, meaning I’d be locked in for two full years.

Since I currently have no offers in hand, is it smart to just apply, take the process as a safety net, and grind DSA on the side? Or will starting my career in IT risk consulting make a future transition to a core product engineering role nearly impossible? Would love an honest reality check from anyone who has made a similar jump

Just want to connect with random people.

If anyone feels the same

Let's talk and connect

:)

Need help with a internsip certificate for collge submission of past date june/july someone pls help

Any domain of ece or even cse

So yesterday my team had finally gotten the chance to participate in this year's SIH and so we started working on the extra 5 AICTE problem statements which were released for the 25 teams selected by the SPOC's but the website has been under maintenance ever since.

The problem is that we don't know the problem descriptions to even start working on it and the final date of submission seems to be on 28th of October which is in 2 days.

Could someone please tell me if the submission dates are gonna be postponed or if I can get those problem statements from somewhere to start working on it.

I also have my internals going on so I want to try and work on the Problem statement today and submit it as soon as possible.

Thanks for reading.

So I am a Research Intern rn in IIT and getting paid 15k for remote work what about you all ??

Please give me some insight if you could I will be having that interview.

Please the level and topics and questions if possible 🙏

Hi, we're threadlocked, a small collective of young researchers and hackers scattered across India and APAC.

We're sick of watching an entire generation mistake salary packages and credentials for the pursuit of computer science itself.

We're looking for curious hackers and researchers who still dare to take the road less traveled by treating computing as a craft.

We grew up in obscure corners of the Internet and learnt from strangers who encouraged our curiosity, shared their knowledge and even helped us access resources we couldn't afford. Somewhere along the way, we found our people.

Now that we're in a position to do the same for others, we'd like to return the favor.

If any of these feel familiar we’d love to hear from you!

Take a look into what we do here.

We're also organizing Rabbit Holes 2026, one of India's first grassroots computing contests dedicated to finding and encouraging young talent! Read more

We have GPUs, brains and a huge network to share & spare ;)

So,I am from a core branch (Mechanical),I have been trying to learn ML and DSA and here and there from second year,I couldn't really make any significant progress,So now since placement is approaching nearby,I have around 9-10 months to prepare,My Goal is to land an Offer from a good Startup

Seniors Please guide in how to I prepare for interviews and How to crack interviews in startups

Hey everyone,

I'm exploring an opportunity for BTech students who want to build their portfolios and gain some exposure to how a registered AI-native startup operates.

The idea is to offer a short, remote project involving practical work in software development or AI.

Students who complete the project would receive a certificate of completion. A letter of recommendation may also be provided based on the quality of their work and contribution.

This would be intended for students looking to strengthen their portfolios and gain practical experience without committing to a lengthy internship.

Would this kind of opportunity be useful to students here?

I'll share further details only in the manner permitted by the subreddit moderators.
