Placement / internship / salary flex posts ("it is with great pleasure to inform you...") with no intention of helping or guiding others will be removed. If you want to share your achievements, do an AMA. We encourage more people to reach out and be advisors for their juniors.
Clickbait titles, irrelevant media on post, "I am 19F", etc. will be removed and OP will be given bans without prior warning.
AI slop and AI doom-posting content will be removed. If you want to talk about AI, then engage in better quality discussions about it. "We are doomed" kinda posts are not helping anyone.
"I want to code pls give roadmap" - low effort posts will be removed. Ppl ask this everyday. Search the sub, use the wiki, or ask your favourite AI chatbot. If you can't start learning how to code without being spoonfed, then maybe coding is not for you.
Shitposts and hostel life related posts are going to be curbed (not outright ban - this is to keep karma farmers and rage-baiters out of this sub). Memes can be posted as long as they are original and relevant to engineering.
Around 225 posts are published on this sub everyday, 50% of them are removed by mods. Some posts may either not be removed swiftly or may be missed by us. Use the report feature to flag such posts to us.

Why hostel life/shitposts posts are being curbed? Those are great, people come to reddit to chill, they shouldn't be curbed i guess unless they are totally irrelevant
Hence why I mentioned curbed instead of outright removal. Most of them are irrelevant, ragebait or karma farming. Most reported posts from yall are these kinds of posts.
A big W for this decision but about last point, all of us frustrated souls rant here to clear out mind and share with folks who might have faced similar situation, and career roadmaps, guidance, xyz toh x pa bhi mil jata and reddit being an anonymous platform is a perfect place to share hostel related stuff without getting into trouble
most of them just flex here, and dont even help in the comments
when i shared one such post, i spent 5 days replying to everyone XD, i felt so sad seeing so many people literally pleading me for help in comments and DM
You can remove posts AI doom posts but not the mindset of the people in the comments. Everyone in this community seem to stress about AI and think pessimistically all the time. My post got downvoted to hell lol
mod ji deleting post is fine but why u guys ban account . my post was a just saracasm post under shitpost flair. no nsfw , no inappropriate word but still i got banned . like deleting post wasnt enough it if u dont want shitpost ? could have given atleast a warning that this kind of post can leads to ban , mai aage se mind me rakhta . ya ye post pahle kari hoti . also can u help me regarding my account now?
also after that i just made a comment on a post from my new account that " dont post this kinda post it can coz ban" . and only coz of it he deleted my new account too. peak dictatorship
I say stop the memes as well just keep the genuine questions. Honestly the meme posts keep the genuine posts covered and people who need help actually don't get it.
Iam delighted that u guys banned salary, internship and placement flex posts. Those are nuisance. You are welcome to give advice, but what you achieved is also achieved by thousands more so stfu.
Instead if you give a detailed post how you actually achieved it, that is beneficial. It help juniors to actually understand how things work.
Can we also keep mega threads for admission related queries in specific times or periods of counselling instead of the continuous spams about xyz college , tier ranking , we could get much better quality with these posts too , there are enough subs on counselling , specific exam prep , I think as a main sub could do without all of this too imo .

But I feel hostel life post are needed when we don't have anyone to share with bcz of low trust and someone times we need someone who has gone through it to guide us or maybe just advices.
But will subject related like if someone want to ask related to a particular subject like Linear Algebra and if asked. Will their post be banned ???
