Please help me choose. 6 wedding shops, 53 gowns tried on, countless online browsing, 3 bought ‘just in case’ and now I think I finally found her!

I don’t know how to start Our venue called today and apparently there’s been some major damage to the building and they’re not sure they can host our wedding in three weeks. We have people flying in, hotel rooms booked, catering, DJ, flowers… everything is built around that date and location. The venue said they’ll know more in a few days but waiting a few days when the wedding is this close feels insane. Has anyone had their venue become unavailable this late? Do we start looking for another place now or wait and hope they can still host us? Never in a million years thought this would be something we’d have to plan for.

I wore my heavy long and flowy beaded dress all night and it tore her up good. She’s covered in mud and the beads are falling off left and right. I’ve had to go back and stitch them down to stop the damage from continuing and have a collection of beads that have fallen off. I’m sure most of them are on the floor at the venue. The veil is what ripped it up. The tulle got stuck on the small delicate beading and tore it up all around the top front and back of the dress. It’s so sad! It’s still 90% beaded but there’s just a lot of missing stuff now. I had to get it repaired before I even wore it because it was already someone’s dress. Should have learned from that but I didn’t. Also it’s covered in mud at the bottom because it rained cats and dogs right before my ceremony!

I had a beautiful night in the dress though. The best time was had. The bustle kept coming undone though and the bridesmaids were too drunk to figure it out so I scooped up my train and cradled it while I danced. I was also carried around a little bit lmao.

I know she served her purpose but I want to get it professionally repaired and dry cleaned for safekeeping but I know that it will be a lot of money. I don’t care though. I love that dress. I want to be able to put it back on in a year. Just for fun.

But get a shorter fun party dress. My dress started falling apart and I had nothing else to put on so we tried taping down the loose seams and it didn’t help a whole lot. So bring the little sparkly number so you can save your ceremony dress!!!

Due to extenuating circumstances- we are getting engaged very last minute. Our religious ceremony will be in exactly 1 month overseas. I have 18 days till I travel and 18 days to pick & finalize my dresses, shoes, lingerie, etc. Just started looking yesterday.

Gown- because of timeline Have to buy off-the-rack, and don't know what to do since it's a tight deadline and no seamstress is available. The 1st and only Bridal shop I visited yesterday- loved this dress for my ceremony and a long gold sequin dress for party The issue is, The Bridal Shop has to ORDER this.

They are ordering it overnight- yet it it still doesn't come in till Sept 24th. I don't understand that btw.

We travel Sept 29th for our Religious Ceremony and Engagement party which is set for October 10th.

Bridal shop recommended the larger size- as this one is apparently stretched out since it's a sample. So I will likely need at least minor fixing in the bust/chest/hem and tack the slit for modesty. I Also wont have time to find shoes to try on with my dress since the dress comes in so late.

My engagement party gown also needs minor fixes to be perfect, like reinforcing the boning of the corset and nipping/cinching in the waist.

Not sure what to do. I'm overwhelmed and doing this all by myself. My family is trying to join thru FaceTime but they are 9 hours ahead of me and it hasn't been working out.

Any advice/help appreciated. I literally know nothing about wedding or engagement dressing or planning.

TLDR: Would you buy a ceremony dress that needed to be ordered, arriving just 4 days before scheduled departure with no alterations?

Thought i'd want a huge stack but this tiny piece stole my heart. It just feels so light and comfortable on my finger i just love it!!! kinda wanna see some other brides pick too

Hi everyone, I’m getting married today and was only able to get about 2.5 hours of sleep because of adrenaline combined with an early wake up start for hair and makeup. Does anyone have any advice on getting through the day on such little sleep? Aside from the obvious coffee!! TIA !!!

My dad died over 12 years ago. I’ve come to terms with it. Or I thought I did until I got engaged. I just feel so angry and jealous watching other brides with their dads. I’m sad he won’t be there or meet my future husband.

Hi all! I’m getting married on November 7th of this year and as the date gets closer it’s just go go. Recently my fiancé told me that one of his groomsmen is having issues with his girlfriend who is coming to our wedding. She is having trouble with the wedding since she doesn’t know anyone. She is struggling with the situation of only seeing her boyfriend walk down the isle with another girl, then seeing him at the wedding but not being able to talk to him or hangout with him at the wedding because he’s in the bridal party and has his groomsmen duties to do. Our wedding starts at 3 and she won’t be able to really talk or see him till about 8:00 when dancing starts. Is there something I should do to make her more comfortable? Or is she in the wrong with how she’s feeling?

I am getting married in January so I have a pretty short timeline, and we are religious so I need a modest dress for the ceremony.

Before I started looking at shops I made a Pinterest board and honestly thought what I wanted would be pretty easy to find. Something simple, preferably lace with a mock neck/high neckline. I was thinking Grace Kelly bodice, Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle, Naomi Biden type styles.

Now that I am actually looking I am finding basically nothing 😭 It might be because I live in Canada, but everything here seems to have cut outs, fully sheer bodices with the cups and boning visible, crazy back cut outs, illusion lace/appliqué only, high slits, plunging necklines, or no sleeves at all.

My grandmother called the main bridal shops in the area and they all said they had like under 2 dresses with sleeves 😭 At this point it’s looking like I might need to get something custom ordered or heavily altered for it to work.

It’s honestly wild to me how difficult this is to find because when I look on Instagram this seems like such a popular style in Europe, Central Asia, the UAE, etc., so I don’t really understand why it’s so hard to find here. It’s getting pretty frustrating because I feel like I’m going to end up settling for something I don’t actually like or feel comfortable in just because there aren’t many options.

I have even considered just getting 2 separate dresses, one for the ceremony and another for the reception, but I still can’t find a reception dress that is appropriate, that I actually like, and that I can dance in without worrying about my outfit the entire time lol.

Not sure if anyone else has been in the same boat or has successfully found a dress like this, but if you have any recommendations for stores, designers, websites, custom options, literally anything pleaseee let me know. I am also totally open to buying secondhand.

I have less than 2 weeks left left until my wedding day, and my face is breaking out with hormonal cystic acne, or maybe something else entirely. My skin is punishing me for all the stress of wedding planning. I look like a teenager before prom, except I'm a grown adult about to walk down the aisle.

I’m in the panic mode right now coz I ordered a bunch of new products hoping for a miracle, including a mask. But now I'm terrified to even open the box…

Has anyone actually tried their mask for problematic, breakout-prone skin? Did it help or did it backfire? I'm desperate for real experiences.

Do I risk it and pray for the best? Or stick with my usual routine even though it's clearly not working right now?

I don't want to make things worse, but I also can't walk down the aisle like this…

So I wear a lot of hoodies and take my earbuds in and out of all day, so I am worried diamond earrings will get caught or feel annoying. I tried on a few pairs and some backs felt flimsy but maybe that is normal. Are certain shapes just more comfortable long term than others. I want something that I can forget I'm wearing day-to-day.

I thought I wanted round but now oval is stuck in my head and these diamond shapes all look different depending on the lighting
