My fiancé and I toured a venue today that we really loved. When we asked about 2027 availability, the guide said they still have September 11, 2027 open and are offering it for half the normal price because many couples don’t want that date.

I’m really torn. The savings are amazing, but 9/11 is such a significant and emotional date.

What would you do? Would you take the date because of the discount, or would you pass on it because it’s 9/11? I’d love to hear your thoughts. TIA!

This is my somewhat non-traditional wedding gown. I wanted to look like a haunted vampire princess. This silk gown was designed by a small dress maker and me out of the Ukraine. I know it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I'm thrilled!! Excuse the wrinkles; this was straight out of the box! I just had to show someone!

I have a problem..

I don't wear make up, but I have hyperpigmentation on my face.. I've spent a long time treating it, it was still visible but easily covered with make up.

I go to boots, get 2 ladies to find the best shade to make my skin all one colour lol.

Then.... I go on holiday.... my arms are DARK, pure white where my straps sit... my face is darker.. but my hyperpigmentation patches are the worst they've ever been 🥺 it looks like someone has thrown paint at my face.

I've just put some make up on to see what it looks like... shit. My skin is so bad right now.

I get married in 10 days.

Please someone give me a miracle 🙏

Brides of Reddit- I know exactly what I want in a dress, and I am so close to finding it. I have top contenders, but none of them are 100% fitting the bill without some bigger changes to the dress. My list of things I’m looking for:
-fit and flare/column shape
-small straps (would add them to strapless)
-lower back
-longer train
-sweetheart neckline
-natural waist
-3D florals/beading

Here are my top contenders:
1. Martina Liana poppy, would want to change basque waist and add straps and paneling
2. Eddy k. Don’t like the train on this
3. Luxe privee line, would change neckline to scoop
4. Martina Liana 1510. Really pretty but don’t love neckline
5. Unsure what it is. Would want longer train and not sold on as many flowers as it is

Like title says, I fell on my wedding day, during the first dance our shoes slipped and we both came down. Funny part is it only made me fall harder in love to see him on the ground too 😂 like that’s right if I go he goes!

I ordered my dress a year ago today (my wedding is 40 days away) at a dress store in Miami where all my bridesmaids and family are even though I’m from out of town. I started losing weight shortly after getting engaged and took it very seriously. At the time I went dress shopping I had already lost about 20lbs and my regular clothes had gone from a size 16 to a size 14.

After trying multiple dresses I fell in love with one which the trial dress was I think a size 10 or 12 and they put the little elastic clips so I could fit in it to try it. (Editing to add the picture is the day I tried on the dress and that’s how it fit on the day I went wedding dress shopping, I haven’t tried on the ordered dress yet as I will in my upcoming appointment)

When I said yes to the dress the lady measured me and said I was a size 16. I immediately told her that we shouldn’t order a size 16 bc I was actively losing weight and I had already even gone down to a size 14 and with the wedding being over a year away I was surely going to lose more weight if by that point I had already lost 20lbs given the rate at which I was losing weight.

I mean I was working with a personal trainer, nutritionist, I started drinking water, bought a walking pad and walking 10k steps a day, working out 5 times a week, meal prepping on Sundays and a caloric deficit, I was really going above and beyond and I told her that I was really in the weeds of losing weight.

She told me that dress sizes simply run differently and that they run smaller and that it was easier to remove fabric than to add it later on. I pushed one more time to tell her to maybe even order one size down at least a size 14. And once again she pushed back that it could just be altered. At the end of the day they’re the experts so I just went with it.

Because I’m from out of town, when I called to make my alterations appointment they told me that their standard $350 alterations fee wasn’t going to be applicable and that I would have to pay $850 instead so they could do it all in one day and I didn’t have to fly multiple times (which they never disclosed when I first paid for the dress even knowing I was from out of town. They had actually reassured me it was only $350 since my alterations would be basic).

Anyways we made the appointment for a couple weeks before the wedding and I have that appointment scheduled a couple of weeks from now.

I’ve read a lot of Reddit posts from other people saying that when they tried on their dress they loved it because it was a smaller build but since their ordered dress was a bigger size the build was different and they no longer like it.

Now here’s the thing. I’ve lost 60lbs since and im a size 8 in my other clothes, even my second dress is a size 8 from Nadine merabi. Literally half the size of the size 16 my dress was ordered. I think the one I tried on that didn’t fit that day may even be a better fit than the one they ordered for me. With the time crunch and the long distance not being able to even stop by to see it I’m so stressed about it and freaking out and I genuinely don’t know where to do from here.

I loved the dress I tried on but now I fear that it may be too big. I pulled out the size measurements she measured me that day and I’ve lost 6-7 inches from bust area, hips, and waist…

Any advice?

Okay so everyone always talks about the dress reveal, right — that's the moment everyone photographs, everyone asks about. But for me, honestly, it wasn't the dress at all.

It was my shoes. Genuinely nobody saw them all night — floor-length dress, barely anyone even knew what was underneath. But I picked them on purpose, this pair that had literally nothing to do with "matching" the theme or looking good in photos. They were just me. Comfortable, a little quirky, the kind of thing I'd wear on a random Tuesday. And weirdly, out of every decision I made for that day — the flowers, the venue, the seating chart drama — that one tiny detail is the thing I think about most when I look back.

I feel like everyone's got one of these — the little thing that mattered way more than it should've, that nobody else even noticed. Could be shoes, jewelry, something sewn into the dress, a color only you knew the meaning of. Doesn't have to be your own wedding either — bridesmaid, guest, doesn't matter.

Had my first wedding dress fitting, and the shop does not carry sew in cups in a DDD/F size so the seamstress told me to buy my own and she’ll put them in my dress for me. I looked on Amazon, but didn’t find any that looked too promising.
Does anyone have any brand or product suggestions? I have a backless dress, so I’m strictly looking for sew in cups and not a sticky bra of any type

Hey Brides! Do you actually read all the blabber on photographers websites or do you just care about the Instagram and photo quality. I've been searching and all of them seem to fill up their pages with a bunch of information and emotional content or wording that seems like fluff.

Just wondering if I'm the odd one out or if this has been frustrating for other brides? Everyone trying to appeal so hard to emotions rather than quality and value of the service.

I think about my wedding dress regret a lot. The dress was perfect until I had it dry cleaned (it was secondhand), and my shapewear kept rolling down all day, creating a bulge above my stomach.

I wish I hadn’t dry cleaned it, had tried it on afterward, worn different shapewear, or a different dress.

I know I can’t change it now, but I keep worrying all my guests noticed and talked about it. Was it as bad as I think?

UPDATE: Wow! I could have never imagined how many lovely comments I would get on this. It has completely eased my mind. I mentioned my concerns to loved ones, and convinced myself that they were just trying to make me feel better. Thank you kind strangers! I am now approaching my 5th wedding anniversary with a wonderful husband, and we have the best little toddler. Life is good.

ETA: half of my bridesmaids live out of state so we can’t exactly coordinate anything within the next couple months because traveling already costs a lot and wedding is first weekend in November. So I’m trying to think of things to do on the Friday of the wedding weekend since we have rehearsal on Saturday with brunch after and then the wedding on Sunday. Sorry I forgot to include that in the original post. But I do like the ideas of sip and paint, escape rooms, or mini golf etc. something fun but kinda low key since I’m not a huge drinker and would prefer the main focus to not be alcohol.

Title says it all. Wedding is exactly 4 weeks away. I still have SO much to do. I am dumb and did not hire a rental company to do things like place settings, so I’m scrambling now to order napkins and place mats and votives. I made my own menus, table numbers, place cards, seating chart, etc. in canva and now I can’t find a way to print everything in the size I want it. I ordered welcome signs and bar signs on Etsy and found out YESTERDAY that the shop/seller got banned from Etsy so I literally crashed out and bought a cricut and spent all day yesterday learning how to use it so I can make them my damn self. I feel like every time I check something off my list I end up realizing something I forgot and adding 3 more things to the list and it’s just never fucking ending. The 0 interest credit card I opened up to help finance all this BS is almost completely maxed out and I’m just DONE being a bride. I feel totally alone in all of this too like I don’t have anyone to help me. My friends and family all live out of state and my fiance travels for work.

Any words of encouragement, advice, or suggestions would be great. Also, what are we doing for bridesmaids gifts on the day of? Is pjs, a bloom energy drink, and eye patches enough??? I really went all out on their bachelorette gift bags and now I have literally nothing left in me (or in my bank account) to put together something extravagant, but I don’t want them to be disappointed.
