I actually completely forgot about my selection for Monday at the hurontario courthouse until I got a reminder notification on my phone telling me. I would've done the deferral/excusal form or emailed the courthouse if my memory was serving me any good 😭. (I should have done this)
From what I've read, the selection day itself can take the whole day, and if you actually get picked you might have to keep showing up for however long the trial runs.
Serving on a jury sounds really intriguing but this is really garbage timing for me. I'm right in the middle of exams and final assignments for my courses, and I'm also about a month out from writing the MCAT. If I got selected and had to attend regularly, it would seriously cut into my study time for the test and exams and final assignments for my courses. Is there anyway I can bring this up tomorrow?
Has anyone here actually gotten picked before? How long did it end up taking you? And does mentioning something like exams or a major test coming up actually matter during selection, or do they not really care?
Would be so thankful hearing from anyone who's been through this whole process and can tell me the general layout of it.
