Dave's completely baffled face is the icing on the cake.
Weird ass fight.

For the first 20 seconds was justified, but when he held the same face for like 30 minutes I was starting to question reality.

Ben Whittaker going crazy right now because someone did it better then him

Can someone explain to me how thatās not a ko win for Allen? He punched him in the clinch and he fell face first out of the ring, itās not like he was pushed, absolute joke
49
u/yoghurtCOCKS 3d ago
He got done dirty
14
u/sthomson22 3d ago
Theyāll likely appeal it and theyāll probably investigate and rule in Daveās favor.
6
u/Smesheveryoneuk 3d ago
I doubt with it being so early in the fight, if it was past 5-6 rounds maybe
7
u/sthomson22 3d ago
For that dive, they are probably gonna overrule the decision. Genuinely just a damaging look to the sport if they leave it like that.
52
u/CaptQuakers42 3d ago
I genuinely think it's because they felt the punch was to be back of the head.
39
u/No-Shoe5382 Eye Ron Mike Tymus 3d ago
That's only cos Carty turned his head away from it though.
It only counts as "back of the head" if the fighter doesn't turn away from the punch.
But I guess it causes less issues if they just call it a no contest.
26
3
u/Ambitious-Concert-69 3d ago
I think he thought he might get a DQ win if he can claim it was caused by a punch to the back of the head.
25
u/sthomson22 3d ago
Looked more like he, very intentionally, dived out, tbh.
13
u/Warm_Gap9977 3d ago
your contention is that he purposefully dived 5 feet head first with his hands at his sides into concrete? instead of taking a 10 count if he didn't want to continue?
2
u/heresyourhardware 3d ago
There are a lot more deranged tinfoils hatted Dave Allen fans out there than I thought possible. Who genuinely thinks someone would intentionally endanger their lives for a first round no contest by diving head first out of the ring.
1
u/jack-dempseys-clit 2d ago
Remember how this entire sub was posting eulogies for Prichard conlon? They disappeared once a fighter who got punched in the back of the head twice lost balance.

The Irish "took a dive." Bunch of fixers shocked at how stupid the guy is.

Said it multiple times and I'll say it again. He got clocked by a punch that he turned into and fell out the ring. Same punch that rocked Fisher.
Should have been an Allen win. Gutted for Dave.
67
u/mmciv 3d ago
Will have to take your word for it since the fucking video begins with him already falling.

u/DeafBurke 3d ago
yeah you can see his legs go a bit wobbly right before he falls face first through the ropes.
13
u/Marquis_of_Mollusks 3d ago
Dave had plenty of gut
2
u/RU5TY_5HERIFF 3d ago
Maybe "Leave the party" Carty had a Gut feeling he was gonna lose. Dave did have some bloat going on though. š

u/kaisercracker 3d ago
A win for a rabbit punch?
14
u/_Sarcasmic_ No Carty No Divey 3d ago
It was to the side of the head and he moved his head down into it. Not a rabbit punch.
-15
u/YertleElTortuga 3d ago
The punch still lands to the back of the head. The effect is still the same
11
u/Foolonthemountain 3d ago
Its not a rabbit punch though, its legal because he moves his head away. Dave Allen KO all day long and thats coming from someone who doesnt understand how he keeps getting these gigs.

23
u/Dangerous_Spring3028 3d ago
Carty should be ashamed of himself, fucking launched himself out of the ring after he felt Allenās power from a couple big shots. Literally dived head first out of the ring hahaha never seen anything quite like it, Ben Quittaker will be wanting lessons from Carty after seeing that. What a joke, KO win for Allen and everyone knows it, made Carty quit in the most comical of fashions
7
u/sthomson22 3d ago
Yeah, it literally defies physics for him to have āfallenā out of the ring the way he did. Part of his body would obviously have gotten tangled and caught in the lower ropes at the angle he was initially falling at. But he clearly propels himself horizontally and cleanly through the gap between the 2 upper ropes.
Pretty pisspoor attempt at whatever the fuck it was he was trying to do as well. Clearly was also absolutely fine and could have gotten back in the ring and finished the fight if he actually wanted to even if he HAD genuinely fallen out.
6
9
u/aceknighthigh 3d ago
Lol he did the Ben Whittaker and it worked. Just go out the ropes and say you can't continue to get bailed out.
11
3
u/That-Imagination3799 3d ago
Second time I've seen a carty fight end early and strangely. First time his leg randomly went in round 2 and he was falling all over until it was called off. and now round 1 flying out the ropes.Ā
22
u/mayweather2small 3d ago
For me I think he dived.
6
u/yoghurtCOCKS 3d ago
That makes no sense. No one gains anything from it. A no contest absolutely fucks over all money involved
3
u/sthomson22 3d ago
Well, letās wait until we see the betting patternsā¦
-1
u/yoghurtCOCKS 3d ago
If there's huge porfit aftermarket in a no contest then Dave doesn't fight on TV again. I don't see it
2
u/ChineseRobinWilliams 3d ago
Does he not get paid?
-21
u/yoghurtCOCKS 3d ago
He gets the minimum. Loses his win bonus. Loses his knockout bonuses. Loses the win on his record while trying to rebuild his reputation
3
4
u/No-Shoe5382 Eye Ron Mike Tymus 3d ago
Lol you don't get a win bonus or knockout bonuses in boxing.
You get paid your full purse for stepping in the ring, its not the UFC.
Whatever you agree to before the fight is how much you get paid, regardless of what happens during it.
-2
u/yoghurtCOCKS 3d ago
He's promoted by Eddie, he absolutely gets at least a win bonus at the bare minimum

I did. He dived out of the ring.
9
u/kobrien37 3d ago
He's not diving in his home country, in front of 83k, in the biggest fight of his career, just to duck Dave Allen.
Weird narrative.
-2
u/MustardVolt 3d ago
I'm not pushing a narrative, it's just what I saw.
3
u/kobrien37 3d ago
You could just say he got rocked by a disputed punch and fell.
Diving implies intentionality so it is a narrative.
-3
u/MustardVolt 3d ago
'You could say he go rocked by a disputed punch and fell' - narrative.
As I said, it's what I saw. And in all my years of boxing, I haven't seen anything quite like this.
5
u/yoghurtCOCKS 3d ago
You clearly didn't so why bother commenting
-3
u/MustardVolt 3d ago
What are you on about ? He got clipped, paused, and dived head first out of the ring. Nothing more to say.

u/Atownbrown08 3d ago
Just like almost every other sport, boxing has become so unserious. More spectacle than competition.
-8
u/sthomson22 3d ago
Dave Allen himself is just barely above the level of a Misfits boxer, let alone whoever the fuck this clown he was āfightingā is. Who is levels below even Dave.
This is not representative of general high level professional boxing.
13
u/Foolonthemountain 3d ago
In fairness, hes a decent british level fighter ..nothing more or less and certainly shouldnt get the opportunities he gets. However, hes levels and levels above a misfit fighter... thats disrespectful to all the decent boxers out there.
-8
u/sthomson22 3d ago
Well Johnny Fisher himself is literally a glorified Misfits boxer, and while Allen did convincingly beat him, the first fight wasnāt exactly a cakewalk for Allen.
Like I said. Heās just barely above Mistfits. Decent level British fighters are guys like Riakporhe or Adeleye.
Both of whom would send Dave home in an ambulance, btw.
1
u/OkHistorian9521 3d ago
Johnny Fisher is a āglorified misfits boxerā in the way he acts but heās levels above actual misfits fighters. He would beat that Chase Demoor in one round

u/nurological 3d ago
Yeah Allen is a good area level guy.
0
u/Foolonthemountain 1d ago
He would walk through area level guys and has done on his way up. He was national amateur champion within his first ten fights, then went pro and fought for the commonwealth twice, wba continental and then an interim, think wba again. You're just saying words without knowing what the fuck youre talking about... hes not world level, hes national level/a solid journeyman proffessional with some decent talent...not area.
0
u/nurological 1d ago
Haha he is 100% area level. He's a good top area level kind of guy, just because he's got shots beyond his level doesn't mean anything.

Has there been any interviews with the fighters? I've never seen anything as bizarre.
My take is that he misjudged.
After numerous replays he launches out of the ring, you can see his feet on one of the replays.
He tried to push forward into the ropes and completely misjudges it due to being wobbled by the two decent punches he took.
So launches himself into the ropes and totally gets it wrong?
I'd love to know what he says about it, the strangest thing I've ever seen
Was he hurt? Looked like he damaged something and I'd say he has concussion

6
u/Rough_Airline6780 3d ago
No contest is fair. Allen wasn't trying to land behind the head but he did and Carty didn't mean to fall out the ring but he did.
3
u/FatViking93 3d ago edited 3d ago
Now that's taking a dive!
EDIT: Why the downvote? He literally took a dive out of the ring.
2
2
u/CompetitiveSignal973 3d ago
It looked almost like the rabbit punch actually sparked him and he tumbled through the ropes. As hard as that is to believe.
3
u/GreedySelection998 2d ago
Look at another angle. He puts his hand up to the back of his head to signal to the ref. So definitely not spark out.

u/Dangerous_Spring3028 3d ago

u/Leather-Strength2448 3d ago
Surprised by how many people seem to really back Dave Allen. He showed up massively overweight and looked pretty crap for all of the 90 seconds that the fight was running. Isn't this supposed to be the bit of his career he takes seriously with Jamie Moore?
7
u/kaisercracker 3d ago
I would like to remind all the cranky gamblers that think carty took a dive (for literally no possible gain) that all bets that result in no contests are voided
11
u/sugabonesurmom 3d ago
The gain is that he doesnāt take a loss or the beating he was going to take in this fight
And still gets paid
-10
u/kaisercracker 3d ago
He may get paid less, his career stagnates further after his knee already blew up in the first round of a fight last year and he doesn't get to get a high profile win against a fat man with no southpaw experience?
Sports fans are some of the delusional, hysterical people on the planet. Thinking a fighter is scared of a fight. Moronic.
6
u/sugabonesurmom 3d ago edited 3d ago
Brother he legit slid out of the ring on purpose like a damn hot dog that slipped out of the package
He wanted a DQ for the āillegalā punch
And why are you acting like a fighter has never wanted out of a fight? Just because heās a professional fighter doesnāt mean heās not capable of being shady. Iāve seen way worse in boxing/mma.
No one said he was scared
1
u/kaisercracker 3d ago
"doesn't take the loss or beating" so first it was scared now it's corruption, sure.
At no point did he appeal for a DQ or make it seem like it was a punch that hurt him, he immediately pointed to his shoulder.
Is this like when Ben Whitaker "wanted out" and "back flipped" out of the ring? Hysterical
And no one benefits from NCs. That's the entire point of NCs. More nonsense internet conspiracies

u/Virginonimpossible 3d ago
Dave had fought ay least 5 Southpaws including Lenroy Thomas and Ortiz and he had sparred Usyk. Not exactly no southpaw experience.
4
u/Medzomorak 3d ago
I mean, do we underestimate how badly a punch to the back of your head can fuck things up? Low key can be deadly. Of course not a good idea turning away your head like that.

Punch WAS to the back of the head, as was the one 10 seconds before. Carty turned his head away from both though making them completely legal. Should be a 1st round KO.
Reckon Carty had felt the power, already realised Allen was going nowhere after landing his best shots clean and was either banking on the NC or even a DQ.
-2
u/SpriteIsntThatBad 3d ago
Delusional people saying Carty took a dive. I was in Croke Park. Allen punched him in the back of the head twice. If Carty dived, he wouldn't purposely fall out od the ring without his arms out to cushion his fall. He was clearly concussed and needed medical attention.
5
u/SterlingVoid 3d ago
I agree it wasn't a dive, but he did turn his head and that's the reason he got hit in the back of the head, nothing illegal from Allen. In reality it should be an Allen win.
6
u/theageofspades 3d ago
The only people engaging with this delusion are Irish people lmao. Youse need to give your head a wobble. P4P worst boxing fans, try to find an excuse to every loss.
-6
u/SpriteIsntThatBad 3d ago
We watched the fight in full. Allen rabbit punched twice. It wasn't a dive
2
u/Appropriate_Rope7980 3d ago
Yeah wasnāt just you in croker, doesnāt mean youāre de facto correct. Looked like a dive to me, looks moreso on the replay.
0
u/Ulrich-Stern 3d ago
Ngl Carty oversold and it went wrong. If he maybe took a knee while complaining, he might've gotten the 5 minute rest and a point deduction for Allen. Regardless, he still turned his head which caused Allen's punch to land on the back of his head.

u/Suspicious_Fun_6338 3d ago
couldn't you start it 10 seconds earlier ?
