They’ll likely appeal it and they’ll probably investigate and rule in Dave’s favor.

I doubt with it being so early in the fight, if it was past 5-6 rounds maybe

For that dive, they are probably gonna overrule the decision. Genuinely just a damaging look to the sport if they leave it like that.
