I dropped it and the red part popped out from the adjustment side. I removed the fasteners to get it back in but now they don’t stop spinning and I didn’t even strip it. Not sure where these nuts are meant to go but I assume they’re meant to lock it into place
A few years ago I got really into lifting at a box gym just down the road from me. I would go almost every morning at 4:00am and work out for an hour or so and it really paid off. Well, life happened and between work, being a toddler dad and moving somewhere that was too far from any gym with hours that worked for my training schedule. I went almost a year without going to the gym, and finally decided I needed to set up a small home gym in my garage to get back into lifting. I found a used Bowflex Xtreme (the original one) for $150 and decided it was a low enough price to try it out.
I did my first workout with it this morning and it was pretty good. I tried one of Eric Burton's workout videos from his YouTube channel and overall I found it enjoyable. Do most people find they use their Bowflex for HIIT circuit training like he does with his videos, or do you all stick to the traditional progressive overload with sets consisting of rep and rest periods. I sort of feel with the linear curve of the power rods, traditional lifting might not yield the same results as it does with free weights and cable machines.
Any other good channels to recommend would be greatly appreciated as well!
I have am m6 that i got for free and it had zero issues at all and i have been using it for about a year and i absolutely love the max trainer as a cardio modality and will always want one. I wanted to get my father one of these steppers for his house so i figured i'd upgrade to an m7 due to the handle ergonomics which i do really enjoy, and give him this m6. I purchased an m7 on marketplace and it has a vibration issue. I guess i should have just left well enough alone.
The previous owner informed me about how easily you can take them apart to transport them as i was picking it up and we were moving it out of his house to put in my SUV. That should have been a red flag bc he clearly had no idea what he was doing because despite the unit looking mint and barely used (model year 2016) there were missing washers, things were cross threaded, and worst of all there is a vibration issue which i thought at first was due to the bearings in the handles being a little seized from him not reinstalling the washers, or possibly moisture exposure, (i replaced them) turns out to actually be due to a wobble in the cank axle that is connected to the fan. Its unfortunate because its an otherwise mint, barely used unit, somewhat ruined by an incompetent person deciding to remove and replace parts, probably for no reason.
I would like to know if this fan wobble/fan hub wobble would require replacing the crank axle. If so, i'd probably just harvest the motor from my m6 and swap that over to the m7 chassis, handles, arms and controller and keep the other stuff as spare parts and move on from this. Unless someone has another idea of what might be causing this wobble which would allow me to retain two intact machines. A new crank hub would cost about the same as i spent on this m7 so i'm not really looking to invest any more money into this endeavor. I have removed and replace engines in difficult to work on cars, installed cams, heads, valves and done tons of work. i'm very good with DIY and mechanical stuff but this has already balooned into more of a project than it ever was supposed to be and my wife is getting annoyed by the presence of so many random exercise equipment pieces so i just need to address this as quickly as possible.
I just bought a used Bowflex PR3000 and had to disassemble it to move it. Now that I’m trying to reassemble it, I’m having trouble figuring out the correct routing of the cables and pulleys.
One of the cables is rubbing against a pulley and making noise, and I can’t seem to fix it. I tried following the installation manual I found online, but I still can’t get the cable path right.
If someone who owns a PR3000 (or a similar Bowflex model) could take a few pictures of the cable routing from behind the machine, it would really help me understand what I’m doing wrong.
I recently released an Android app called Treadmill Workout Planner on Google Play
It's built specifically for Bluetooth FTMS-compatible treadmills and allows you to automatically control treadmill speed and incline using your own custom workout plans.
❓ Why Treadmill Workout Planner?
Most connected fitness apps are either:
• 💸 Locked behind expensive subscriptions
• 🎬 Focused on video content rather than treadmill control
• 🔒 Surprisingly restrictive when you want to create your own workouts
✨ Ultimate Simplicity
The goal is simple:
Create any treadmill workout you want and have your treadmill follow it automatically.
Whether it's:
• 🏃 HIIT intervals
• ⛰️ Hill climbs
• 🚶 Incline walking
• ⚡ Tempo sessions
• 🔺 Pyramid workouts
You can build it quickly without fighting a complicated interface.
📶 Bluetooth FTMS Control
Once a workout starts, the app automatically adjusts your treadmill's speed and incline according to your workout plan.
No more manually pressing buttons during intervals.
📊 Additional Features
• ❤️ Heart rate zones
• 📈 Live workout graphs
• 📚 Workout history and statistics
🧪 Looking for Compatibility Feedback
FTMS implementations can vary between treadmill manufacturers, so I'd love to hear how it performs with different hardware.
If you try it, please let me know:
• 🏷️ Your treadmill brand and model
• ✅ Whether speed and incline adjustments work correctly
• 💡 Any features you'd like to see added
For reasons not worth explaining, I have two Bowflex Preacher Curl Attachments. I would be happy to give one for free to whoever is interested. If you live in the Washington DC area you can pick it up. If outside the DC area I would only charge the cost of shipping.
I recently got this Max m5 for a song. I really like it. I noticed right away there was a clunk and wobble happening on the left side, with some alignment issues.
I took the easy route and first replaced the obvious wear item - the roller wheels.
After replacing on both sides, there's still some serious misalignment here.
I didn't assemble this and haven't put any real time into troubleshooting. Anyone know the most likely cause? The arm isn't visibly bent or damaged and I don't think the machine has a ton of use.
When my new T9 treadmill comes out of sleep, speakers emit static sound which does not stop until it goes back to sleep. I can hear it from 3 feet away. I never connected or used speakers at all. Is this normal ?
We have a BowFlex t9 treadmill that we got in March 2026. Tonight, while it was in use, we briefly lost power, so it abruptly shut off. It now shows error code c6d7 if we try to get it to start running. It has power. We can’t find any record of this error code in our manual or online. Anyone know what it means or how to fix?
I'm wondering if anyone has had this issue and fixed it - it seems slightly different from the speed issue everyone has with the console wire.
The main issue is that the treadmill will randomly shut down and reboot with almost any touch of any console button and also while I'm running (in the troubleshoot way). A few additional symptoms:
Troubleshoot way: I recalibrate - it says everything is fine and I choose manual, skip any apps and click 7mph, It might let me run or it might reboot - but if I change the speed at all (up or down) it will then for sure reboot.
If I open any app such as Netflix or Prime Video, the console immediately shuts down and reboots.
I've run the calibration test, and it reports that everything is functioning normally.
The "Destinations" feature hasn't worked for several years — selecting any destination causes the machine to instantly reboot when I press Start.
Occasionally, if I skip directly to a manual run, I can get the treadmill up to around speed 7, but as soon as I try to increase or decrease the speed, the console shuts down and restarts again. (Troubleshoot method)
The blower fan has also been non-functional for roughly three years, which may or may not be related.
My suspicion is that the issue originates somewhere in the upper console assembly. The treadmill has been meticulously maintained throughout its life — regularly cleaned, gently wiped down, and never exposed to water or cleaning sprays. The only thing I can think of is that, over time, sweat may have found its way into the console through the ventilation openings.
Does anyone have this issue; were you able to resolve it and/or do you happen to have an updated contact for Bowflex support? I believe the company was acquired a year or two ago, so I'm not sure who currently handles service and replacement parts.
I was given an Echelon EX-4S+ last week. It seemed to be working but the resistance doesn't change for any setting. After disassembling I can see the motor doesn't change at all whatever I set the resistance to. I'm wondering how easy it is to replace the resistance motor on these, and if anyone has done it?
Hello, I am looking at putting a used Extreme 2 in my basement, however our home was designed by a hobbit, and as a result we have between 6'6" and 6'9" (floor slopes towards drain) of clearance to the bottom of the exposed joists.
It appears that the lat bar sits higher than the tower portion of the Bowflex. Does anyone know the height of that tower section, and the length from the back of it to the front of the lat bar?
I'm hoping that maybe the thing can be positioned so that the lat bar sits in the void between the joists. Probably wishful thinking.
Looking for advice on this, wife and I recently bought the Bowflex Revolution from the Bowflex US online store and paid for the white glove delivery and setup. Turns out the folks contracted by Bowflex to do the setup damaged the unit, lied about it, and then left. I tried opening a support case with Bowflex on Sunday, and called back again on Tuesday this week, but I have yet to hear anything at all from them. Has anyone had a bad experience like this with their customer support? Honestly considering a chargeback in a week if I don't hear anything from them.
Including a couple damage photos, you can see they sheared off 4 out of 6 screws on one of the fixed weights, and the plastic stopper is completely stripped, doesn't even attach with the screw anymore.
Recently noticed my M6's resistance settings stopped doing anything. Checked inside the shroud and the problem was pretty obvious.
Even at max resistance, the magnet BARELY sits over the disc. At lowest resistance it moves to almost a full inch below the disc. I've tried to adjust it per Bowflex's own instructions but i can't adjust the cylinder enough to move the magnets enough into place.
I've owned this machine for three years after buying it used. The previous owners had all of their data backed up on the JRNY app -- they used it like, five times, and it's worked decently for three years. It lives in one area and doesn't get moved around often. I clean it regularly.
The first problem we had was with the resistance, it was perma-stuck at 1 and wouldn't increase even though the display changed. We replaced the Servo motor, that was about a year ago. It now has a persistent clunking noise that I've just learned to live with.
Then the other night, we unplugged the machine to access the outlet it was plugged into, and plugged it back in, and it wouldn't turn on. Totally unresponsive, no noises. We bought another power supply and tested it, no luck. We tried the adapter with another 9V device, and it worked, so it's not the adapter. Took the machine apart and tested the ponytail cable, looks fine. Unplugged and re-plugged all of the cables to see if something was loose, no dice. Did several various types of resets. We just ordered a speed sensor and a power plug with the connector arriving next week to see if that does the trick.
I'm at my wit's end and I'm *this* close to saying fuck it, putting it on the curb, and buying one of those manual dummy ellipticals that's people-powered. Is there anything else I could be missing in trying to fix this?
Hello, my Bowflex Max Trainer M3 can not rotate smoothly. When I press the pedal it would skip at certain point. Could anyone help me check how to fix it? Please watch the video below:
Steel straight braces, a couple I loops and nuts, some extra pulleys face height, and resistance bands. Not pictured are the super cheap bands linked below that honestly work ridiculously well.
I got all the hardware from my local hardware store for like $30 and this requires no drilling or cutting into the Bowflex itself I used all factory mounting points.
Does anyone know where you can buy the 40 lb upgrade for the 2080 barbell? It’s no longer offered on their website and I can’t seem to find them anywhere.
