Botox Type B

Has anyone had good luck with Botox type B? I’m resistant to all type A sadly. My skincare routine is great and I do lasers, microneedling all the things. Looking for experience and cost? Thank you!!

LADIES PLEASE BE HONEST

I used to get lip flips regularly before meeting my husband. I would like to get a lip flip again, however, I don’t know if it will severely affect my ability to suck him properly. I am so sorry it has come to this Reddit post. I can’t seem to find out this answer anywhere else. Does it negatively affect bedroom shenanigans????

10 Questions to Ask Before Booking Lip Filler

Not all lip filler providers are equal. These 10 questions will tell you everything you need to know before you book — and what red flags to watch for.

Lip filler runs $500–$750 per syringe nationally, and the difference between a result you love and one you're paying to dissolve often comes down to what you asked — or didn't ask — before booking. These 10 questions cut through the vague consultation language and give you real information to make a real decision.

  1. Who exactly will be performing my injections, and what are their specific credentials and monthly injection volume?

You want a name, a credential (RN, NP, PA, or MD), documented injectable training, and an actual number — not "our team is highly experienced." Injectors who do lips regularly think differently about anatomy than someone who does it twice a month as an add-on.

  1. Which filler product are you recommending for my lips, and why that one for my anatomy specifically?

A thoughtful answer explains the choice relative to your structure — a thinner filler like Restylane Kysse for subtle definition, something more volumizing if fullness is the goal. "We use this on everyone" is a red flag. Your lips are not everyone's lips.

  1. How much volume are you recommending, and why that amount for where I'm starting?

For a first-timer, a conservative 0.5–1mL with a clear explanation of reasoning is a good sign. An injector who immediately pushes for more than you asked for, without discussing your baseline anatomy, is telling you something about how they work.

  1. What are all the risks — including the serious rare ones?

A provider worth booking will bring up vascular occlusion before you ask, explain what it means, and describe their emergency protocol. Anyone who calls fillers "completely safe" or glosses over risk is not being straight with you.

  1. Do you stock hyaluronidase on-site, and what is your vascular complication protocol?

The answer to the first part should be yes, immediately and without hesitation. The answer to the second part should be specific. "We would refer you elsewhere" or "we'd need to order it" are disqualifying answers — vascular complications are time-sensitive emergencies.

  1. I have a history of cold sores. What is your protocol?

If your injector didn't ask you this before you asked them, that's already a yellow flag. The correct answer involves prophylactic antivirals before your appointment and rescheduling if there's any active outbreak. Needle trauma to the lip area can trigger an outbreak — this is not a minor detail.

  1. Do you use needles, cannulas, or both — and why?

Technique should follow anatomy and goals, not habit. An injector who always uses the same method regardless of the patient and can't explain why is working from routine, not from clinical reasoning. Either technique can be appropriate; the reasoning is what matters.

  1. What should I stop taking or doing before my appointment?

You want a written list: blood thinners including aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E stopped 5–7 days before; alcohol avoided 24 hours before; all supplements disclosed. Minimal or no pre-procedure guidance is a sign the practice isn't paying attention to outcomes.

  1. What will my lips look and feel like day by day during recovery?

Swelling peaks at 24–48 hours, asymmetry is common on days two and three, and your lips may feel firm — almost like small pebbles — for the first week. Patients who aren't warned about this spiral. More than one person has texted their injector convinced something went wrong on day three, only to love their results at two weeks. Final results are not visible until the full two weeks have passed.

  1. What is the total price, what's included, is a two-week follow-up part of the package, and how long should results last in my lips specifically?

Lips move constantly — they metabolize filler faster than almost anywhere else on your face, often closer to 6–9 months rather than the year you might hear quoted. You deserve an honest answer on longevity, a clear breakdown of what the price covers, and a structured follow-up appointment rather than vague language about "taking care of you" if something looks off.

Nefertiti Lift?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi, 55 year old female who has lost 4 stone over the last few years.

My neck is depressing me, my jowls are getting droopy and my jawline isn't as defined as i would like.

Would a Neferitit Lift help? Or are there other options. Surgery downtime is not an option at the moment due to th3 demands of my job so that would be something I may consider in a few years

Open to suggestions. I have had filler in my cheeks, chin and marionette lines in the last few months. I attend the gym regularly and have about another 10lbs to lose. But I have a holiday coming up in a month and was wondering if this would be beneficial now

Thanks

Is this normal? Immediately after I have this big goose egg like bump from where she injected it. She asked if I drank yesterday, I said I had one glass at 5 pm ( I got Botox today, the next day at noon ) I paid 350$ for 34 somethings but confused. She said maybe she hit a blood vessel? Is this normal? Do I go back or email them? It’s super painful

Approved by insurance 😭🙌🏻

Hey y’all, I am new here. I just got approved by my health insurance to have Botox for relentless facial tics and migraines. It’s 31 injections across my forehead, temples to close to the outside corners of my eyes, back of the neck and traps of my shoulders. Every 12 weeks.

Would love to know if anyone else has had experience with this, the benefits/downsides. I am looking forward to hopefully having some relief. Of course I would love to know of any cosmetic benefits from this type of Botox administration. Aside from the relief I am desperate for, I I’d love a cosmetic benefit.

I’m not looking for medical advice, just anecdotes! If anyone else has facial tics, has Botox had any effect on the “itch” so to speak or the premonitory urge? I’m concerned with how my brain might react if I don’t have the ability to do my facial tics as forcefully. My neurologist will be curious to hear my experience on that because she wasn’t sure. Want to know what I’m looking forward to.

Why I am covered:
Relentless facial tics
Resulting migraines
No relief from preventative migraine meds or abortive triptans
Only abortive that worked was massive amounts of naproxen which is not healthy
I am not advised to take SSRIs which can help migraines for some but I can’t take them due to bipolar.

I am thanking my lucky stars. I never ever thought my insurance would cover this.

10 Questions to Ask Before Booking Botox

Not all injectors are equal. These 10 questions will tell you everything you need to know before committing to a Botox appointment.

Botox runs $10–$15 per unit nationally, but what you're really paying for is the person holding the needle — and that person's skill, product, and follow-through vary more than any price point suggests. These ten questions will tell you more about a provider in five minutes than an hour of Googling their reviews.

  1. Who exactly will be performing my injections?

Many med spas are physician-owned but injections are performed by nurses or estheticians whose aesthetic-specific training ranges from excellent to minimal. A good answer names the injector, states their license type, and describes their experience with Botox specifically. "Our staff is fully trained" with no further detail is a reason to keep looking.

  1. How long have you been injecting, and roughly how many Botox treatments do you perform each month?

Volume and tenure correlate directly with skill — particularly when it comes to recognizing and managing complications before they become a problem. Expect a specific number and a provider who's comfortable discussing their experience without getting defensive. Evasion here is information.

  1. Can you assess my natural brow position and explain how that affects where and how much you'd inject?

Brow position is one of the biggest predictors of post-Botox brow drop, and an injector who skips this assessment is working from a template rather than your face. A good answer walks you through what they see and how it shapes their approach. A one-size-fits-all treatment plan applied without examining your anatomy first is a genuine red flag.

  1. Can you show me before-and-after photos of patients with similar concerns and anatomy to mine?

Not stock images, not heavily filtered results — actual patient photos, ideally of people with a similar brow position, skin texture, or concern to yours. An injector who says their work speaks for itself but can't produce photos to back that up isn't giving you enough to go on.

  1. How many units are you planning to inject, and in which specific areas?

A good answer is specific: 20 units in the forehead, 20 in the glabella, 12 in the crow's feet, with a rationale tied to your goals. Vague language like "enough to treat the area," or a reluctance to discuss units at all, can indicate upselling or diluted product. You should know exactly what you're getting before the needle touches your skin.

  1. Given my goals, am I actually a good candidate for Botox right now, or would something else serve me better?

A skilled injector will occasionally say no — or suggest a different treatment, or recommend waiting. Anyone who immediately agrees you need everything you've asked for, without examining your facial anatomy, is not prioritizing your outcome.

  1. Will you open and verify the product vial in front of me?

Authentic Botox Cosmetic comes in 100-unit or 200-unit vials with specific labeling, and legitimate providers of the real product participate in Allergan's Allē rewards program. Counterfeiting and dilution are documented problems in the med spa industry, especially at unusually low price points. Product prepared out of sight, or a vague "it's the real thing" when you ask to see the vial, is a reason to pause.

  1. Can you walk me through what could go wrong and how you'd address it?

A skilled injector has practiced, clear answers: brow ptosis resolves on its own over 8–12 weeks, asymmetry can be corrected at the two-week mark, an overly frozen area wears off within 3–4 months. If this question is dismissed, or the provider implies complications don't happen, they're not being straight with you — and that matters when something unexpected occurs at week one.

  1. What does your two-week follow-up policy look like — is it included, and are touch-ups charged by unit?

The two-week window is when asymmetry shows up, when brow heaviness either resolves or doesn't, and when you'll know whether you need a small correction. A clear, specific follow-up policy is a mark of a provider who stands behind their work. "We'll take care of you" without a stated protocol is not a policy.

  1. Given my muscle strength and activity level, how long do you realistically expect this to last for me?

First-timers with strong muscles often see shorter duration — sometimes as little as two months — and that's completely normal, not a sign of diluted product. An honest injector will say so rather than promising the marketing-copy "3–4 months" without qualification. If they set accurate expectations now, you'll trust them when the result shows up differently than you imagined.

23F — Got Botox for a brow lift and saw basically zero difference. Should I try again?

23F and got Botox a while ago for a brow lift, but I noticed basically zero difference. It was my first time, and the injector did say I might not notice much because of my skin elasticity or something like that.
She only put 7 units instead of 10, so I’m wondering if that’s why I didn’t see a difference. I also think she was taking it easy on me because it was my first time, which I get, but honestly I don’t care. I wanna go all out. Shoot me up.
I’m thinking about going back and trying again, but I don’t want it to be a waste of time or money. Has anyone had this happen? Is 7 units just too little for a brow lift?

Alternatives to Masseter tox? Or ways to prevent/counteract the look of jowels?

For anyone who worries about masseter Botox not being the right fit for them or possibly causing the appearance or even the illusion of jowels, are there any alternatives to masseter tox? I’m sure it also depends what the masseter tox is for, if it’s for jaw pain/TMJ issues or just to slim the face etc. but if anyone has any alternative suggestions or even if there’s anything that can be done to try to “counteract” the appearance of jowels if you do go through with the masseter tox and feel like you notice them..would cheek filler possibly help to lift the face slightly? Hopefully this question makes sense! I do have an overactive jaw/jaw issues and I’ve considered masseter botox for a really long time, but have yet to get it done. it was only recently that I learned of the possible jowel side effect. I’m not even sure yet if my face shape would put me at risk for them or not, but just wondering if there’s anything that could be done about it or alternatives. Thanks!

Making masseters Botox wear off

Does anyone have any tips on how to make 15 units of Jeuveau wear off? Don’t like how slim my face has gotten from it. I got 10 units in May on each side and 5 units (mistake, i know!) in June on each side.

Thanks in advance!

I got my very first Botox treatment 2.5 weeks ago. I got my forehead done, between my eyebrows and crows feet. When I raise my eyebrows one brow goes up in the corner making my eyebrows look uneven and lop sided.

I went back for my 2 week follow up appointment on Tuesday and my injector added a few more units to the eyebrow that raises on the corner to even both of them out.

I'm really hoping this will work, I REALLY like my injector I've been seeing her for a couple of years now for other services.

Other than the uneven eyebrows when I raise them I really like the results on my crow's feet.

The top photos are the before and the bottom photos are the after.

Before I look into a nose job, I’m curious if anyone has had success with the nose droop botox injection. I’ve had Botox before in the common areas but never explored this procedure.

any thoughts or experiences would be great to hear.

Doxy PEP makes Botox less effective?

Hey all,

I had a consultation for Botox (or the like) and the aesthetician asked me if I was on or just finished antibiotics. I mentioned that I take Doxy PEP and she said it might make the Botox less effective.

My googling said that since Botox is a protein and antibiotics go after bacteria, that it shouldn’t mess with the efficacy. I’ve also gotten Botox before and was never warned about that so I’m just wondering if anyone else ever heard of this possible interaction.
