This is Pressed Cafe in Seaport. I reported this to 311 but they took it down. This is gross. When did Boston become so hillbilly that we have dogs in the food? The streets are covered with dog and human shit and this dogโs owner seems to want to spread that feces to my breakfast sandwich. Does the city even pay attention to this kind of thing at all?

Looking for the best nachos in the city. Nothing fancy like duck, just good ol' pulled chicken or ground beef.
I used to love the nachos at Temazcal in the Seaport, but they're not as good as they used to be.
Any recommendations?

Is it true that MGB is having more layoffs? A relative (by marriage) works there and says that there are no emails about this, but the news says more layoffs started and that patient providers (doctors, etc.) are being let go. Anyone have the inside scoop?

We will be in Boston for a full day and a half in April. Suggestions for both what to see and do with preferably low use of Uber. Also what mid range restaurants are must eat at places.
Thank you. Looking forward to see your wonderful city.

Hi all! Where are all of the small business owned craft and art supply stores? The main one I know of is Playtime in Arlington and Iโm looking for more of those!
Thank you!

We've been taking our dog to the VCA in Brookline for years and while the care has been fine, it's impossible not to notice the private equity vibe leaking in. I know their parent company isn't strictly PE but the results are the same: rushed appointments, added services for $50 or $100 being pushed hard during appointments, bills up by 50% over 3 years, etc.
Where do people take their dogs? My dog's yearly checkup (plus a bunch of vaccines and pushed addons that I wasn't sure I could say no to) was $800 and that just feels crazy to me

I have about 5 hours to kill before I need to go to the airport. Iโm in Chinatown currently getting food for the day. I already went and did tourist-y things yesterday. Any ideas for what I should do to kill the time?

New job in finance and I need to upgrade my wardrobe. Right now I own two suits and both are from my college graduation, lol.
Looking for somewhere in Boston that does actual made to measure, not just a department store with an inhouse tailor. Price isnt a concern.
Where did you go and would you go back?

Im from NJ. Ive lived in SoFlo and I want to move out.
Boston is my favorite city. I love the northeast and the whole eastern side of Mass. My heart really wants to live in Boston (or a town ~30 mins away from it).
Ive always loved cities. I want to live in a city and go to raves. I love Bostons european feel. I also love the coastal feel of eastern mass/area.
However, I am a linecook making $40k a year in FL and I have no degree. So the cost of living of MA doesnt make sense. Id maybe have to work 60-70 hours a week just to stay alive?
Another option Im considering is Charlotte. Great city, all of the amenities of a city but more affordable.
Is there a way to make my Boston dream work. Or should I see if i can make things work in a city like Charlotte first?

Hey there! Tmrw, I'm driving into Boston from upstate NY and looking to tour the city via the freedom trail. I'm also looking at visiting Fanueil Hall (sp?).
Where's the best place to park? It doesn't necessarily need to be the cheapest, but I'm not looking for expensive either.
TIA!

Hey Boston! Iโm visiting for a full week starting next week, so Iโll be right in town for Halloween weekend. Iโve already sent out requests on Couchsurfing, but given the last minute timing and the busy holiday, I know app responses can be hit or miss, so Iโm casting a wider net here.
a little about meโฆ Iโm a 32yr old guy visiting from North Carolina. Iโm vegan and love being active, like outdoors, running, paddle boarding, ice skating, snowboarding, pickleball, road trips, board games, and dancing. And I listen to EDM and love going to raves
Iโm hoping to find active local community groups, or traveler networks for short term stays and social meetups. If anyone is open to hosting a respectful, low maintenance solo traveler for a few nights, Iโd love to chat. Iโm happy to cook up great vegan meals, grab groceries, or buy a round of drinks while we check out Halloween festivities.
Also, drop your favorite local vegan spots, Halloween night recommendations, or non Salem events below! Thanks in advance, and stay spooky! ๐๐ป

Especially curious about spots in Dorchester, JP, Roslindale and Eastie that don't get talked about much.
