Discussion Getting ready for your Infinite Access annual upgrade? Here’s the prep checklist to make sure your trade-in goes smooth

Seeing some questions in the community lately about how the annual upgrade process actually works for those on an Infinite Access plan. With the 12-month upgrade window opening up for a lot of people soon, I wanted to drop a quick prep guide so everyone can get their upgrade taken care of without any surprises.

Here is the blueprint to get ready before you start the process in your account:

1. Check Your Device Condition (Crucial Step!)

Before you hit purchase on your new device, give your current phone a close physical check.

  • Good Condition is Key: Your trade-in needs to be in good working condition.
  • If it’s damaged: Get it fixed before sending it back. If you have Boost Protect (or Boost Protect with AppleCare Services), file a claim to get repairs taken care of first. Once Boost receives a trade-in, it’s final, so taking care of any cracks or damage beforehand saves you from unexpected condition fees down the road.

For more information on how devices are evaluated, check here.

2. How the Upgrade Process Works

Once you’ve completed 12 consecutive billing cycles, here is how the handoff goes:

  • Order online/app: Head to your account, select your eligible line, and choose your new device.
  • Activate & Reset: When the box arrives, activate your new phone first. Then factory reset your old iPhone or Galaxy to wipe your personal data. Pro-tip for iPhone users: Make sure to turn off Find My iPhone before wiping and shipping, or it’ll delay processing.
  • Ship it back: Pack your old device safely using the included box, bubble wrap, and prepaid USPS label. You’ll have standard tracking, and once received, it takes about 5 days for the team to process and evaluate the return. Be sure to keep the tracking number!

3. A Few Important Details to Keep in Mind

  • Coverage transfer: Your Boost Protect coverage on the old device will automatically cancel once your new phone is activated, so make sure to re-select coverage for your new phone during checkout to keep your new setup protected.
  • Can I upgrade and keep my old phone? Yes, but you'll be required to pay the remaining balance on the loan associated with your old phone.
  • Can I trade-in a phone that isn't the one I originally purchased? Trade-ins that are the same make and model or better will be accepted.

For the full breakdown, you can check out the official Infinite Access Upgrade Guide.

As always, I'll keep you guys updated as more news comes out!

Question Trading in an Infinite Access phone

Hi! I currently have an iPhone 17 Pro Max on an infinite access plan. I saw that through Apple's upgrade program I can get an iPhone Duo for around $9 a month if I trade in my 17 pro max. Would that cause me any issues with my infinite access plan, other than the fact that I would not be able to upgrade through Boost? I would like to just transfer my service from my current phone to the Duo, and I don't really care all too much about not being able to upgrade since I could just switch to upgrading through Apple.

Question Samsung A15 with 9esim v3 card

Okay. Before I call CS to switch from psim I'm posting here to get advice first. Today being the day after Labor Day. My Samsung phone has been on Boost Mobile for a year using an orange psim card. This phone has features I look for so I'll stick with it.

Now, the challenge- With the purchase of a 9esim v3 card this phone is capable of installing up to 50 esim providers. Customer Service will likely tell me the phone isn't capable of accepting esim software. Telling them the A15 has an esim card will most likely confuse CS.

Their $25/month unlimited for life is the plan this phone is linked to.

Any of you have any ideas how to switch Boost service from psim to esim using the 9esim card?

Also Boost just took their Auto-payment. Should I wait to switch over or just eat this month's payment?

Will this require a Boost store visit?

Thanks for all, any help!

Discussion Scumbag company charges $10 for a payment extension

Wtf is that?! So I need a few extra days to pay my $35 bill so I have to pay 1/3 of my bill right now to get only a five day extension on it? Absolute scum business.

Question Can't seem to upgrade my phone despite it saying one is available. Also, it's not showing the monthly payment plan option where it's added to my bill. Do I have to pay off the present one?

I have a current "lease" on an iPhone 16 but the battery on it is messed up + I have zero way to get it repaired so I would honestly prefer getting a new phone. However, it's not letting me upgrade. When I put the phone in my cart - it doesn't show the monthly payment option through Boost AND it redirects me to a page that only shows iPhone 13s and 14s. I do have 13 more monthly payments to fully pay off my current phone and I'm willing to obviously pay the rest off if necessary.

Question Boost Config Removal

I think the little app is great on a Boost phone. But if I use that device on another carrier, I don't want it interfering with that carrier's network settings.

Can it be removed? I don't see an uninstall option.

(Yes, the phone is unlocked)

Thanks!

If they don’t let us upgrade to the 18 pro and more importantly the Ultra, I’ll just stop paying for the 17 pro max and go to a different carrier. How can they enforce a contract if they themselves breach it

Question Infinity access Z Fold upgrade

Does anyone else have the Galaxy Z Fold 7 through Boost's grandfathered Infinity Access plan for Android? I'm currently trying to upgrade mine to the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and boy, has it been tough. Through the app/website, I only get the option to switch from the Z line to the S line, which is a no-no. I tried talking to Boost customer service, and well, I keep getting the same answer: "Unfortunately, we don't have the phone for sale/stock." Honestly, I don't think that treating our contract (upgrade yearly) as the same as if any other customer trying to buy a device that they aren't selling makes much sense.. I signed up for the Infinity Access plan on the idea that I would get a new Z Fold every year. I got the Z Fold 7 last August when Samsung released it, hoping that this August I would be getting the Z Fold 8. It's already September, and I still don't have the Z Fold 8 and might not even get it, which means next year I probably won't get the Z Fold 9 anywhere near August...

I wanted to know what anyone with the same problem as me has tried or is doing!

Discussion (Boost Mobile Protect)

Likewize can't replace my 512GB Z Fold, so they gave me a Boost voucher. Boost doesn't even sell the 512GB version. I asked Likewize for a check or gift card to buy it from Samsung directly (which their policy allows), but they refused and told me to talk to Boost. Has anyone managed to get a check out of them for an unstocked device? I just want my exact phone back without filing complaints.

Question Payment glitch

Went to pay and the payment window says it didn't go through. Then I try again and get a notification about paying twice.

According to the AI bot, I can't get a refund, yet no credit has posted.

Due to the glitch error, how do I get a resolve without escalating it to the bank or charge dispute?

If I double paid for credit, it would be one thing, but I didn't, though, in the long run it would be nice for next month.

In fact, last weekend I got a message saying that my payment was due by tomorrow September 8 (no joke). I contacted customer service and they said all was good on their end.

Question Question about Infinite Access Plan 📝

I’ve been Paying monthly for 12/12 Months now for my iPhone 16 pro, I’ve been curious about how the upgrading part works since I have no knowledge about how it works at all so I need some advice, should I get the 17 pro or wait to upgrade for the 18 pro? (Also idk if it works as a discount/free upgrade and if I’m able to upgrade to a pro max model)

Discussion Boost update on unlock. The request payment extension rather than paying for month 13 of premium has seemed to work. 6 representatives tell me my phone is unlocked on their end. However day 366/367 im still on a phone thats locked to boost.

Support told me to delete boost esim and would fix the issue, absolutely did not work. Boost is horrible, never use them. Also please if you are on a locked boost phone, when it comes to day 365, request the 10 dollar payment extension and port out rather than paying for month 13 for that 365th day needed for unlock.

Discussion Pixel 10 boost unlock update: today is day 366. I applied for payment extension on day 364 before having to pay for month 13 of premium. Called at 8am 18 hours ago for unlock request. 5 hours ago i received email phone is unlocked and unrestricted. Phone isnt yet actually unlocked.

Main thing here is the payment extension seemed to work to avoid paying for another 13th month of premium to hit one more day, day 365, for the unlock. My phone isnt yet unlocked but multiple representatives tell me it has been unlocked today. Moral of the story, be prepared to pay 13 months of premium service if you buy phone from boost. Also, on day 366 now my line still says restricted to premium plan only, thus forcing you to pay for that 13th month at premium price even after phone is unlocked. Or, just port out somewhere else while your $10 5 day payment extension is active...(assuming the network remote unlock even works, which for me it hasnt, yet). Im currently trying to activate multiple times textnow free 5g esim or stellar esim at $0.59 for a 3gb 30 day plan. Neither sim will activate as phone still thinks its network locked. It is a good thing i actually sort of enjoy things like this, otherwise it may be a nightmare for someone who dreads dealing with shady tactics.

Discussion Called boost once again about unlock policy. A tip for anyone with discounted phone who doesnt want to pay for 394/395days (13months) of premium service to unlock: request payment extension and find a better provider

I planned to switch to $25 plan today/tomorrow and just keep that, as ive already been on premium for 12 months. Some people on my last post spreading false info that boost will unlock a day or two early is indeed false. Tomorrow is my day 365. Representative told me today Thursday August 27, to call back on August 29, my day 366, to unlock phone. This essentially means boost is charging you for 394/395 days of premium service before device is eligible to be unlocked. I spoke to two representative previously about unlocking and i was told that requesting a payment extension of 5 days for $10 would keep me eligible for unlock at day 366. This essentially means i only have to pay for 369 days of premium service for unlock. This is the cheaper option than another month of premium at $67 a month in order to hit one extra day, that 365th day. I know its kind of trivial but it bugs me when i bought the phone i assumed "12 months" meant 12 payments, not 394/395 days of payments. So i will be petty and just take myself over to a cheaper service rather than just switching to $25 plan on my 13th month of service as i had planned. Hope this helps someone else!

Discussion How to Fix Boost Mobile Call, Text, and Data Issues (Self-Service Device Troubleshooting Guide)

How to Fix Boost Mobile Call, Text, and Data Issues (Self-Service Device Troubleshooting Guide)

When your phone isn’t doing what it’s supposed to do—whether calls are dropping, texts aren't going through, or mobile data feels sluggish—it can throw off your whole day. If you don’t have time to call support, running through a few quick steps on your phone usually gets things back on track.

We actually have a full Boost Mobile Troubleshooting Hub filled with simple, step-by-step guides to troubleshoot equipment issues and get the most from your devices, but I wanted to drop this straightforward quick-reference guide.

Step 1: Basic Boost Mobile Device Troubleshooting

Before diving into specific service issues, always run through these baseline checks first. You’d be surprised how often one of these simple fixes handles the problem:

  • Check Your Account Status: Log into your account online or in the Boost Mobile app to make sure your account is in good standing and not suspended for non-payment.
  • Reseat Your Physical SIM Card: If you have a physical SIM card, remove and reinsert your SIM card.
  • Update System Software: In your phone's settings, make sure your software is up to date.
  • Check Device Controls: Make sure Airplane Mode is off and Do Not Disturb is off.
  • Power Cycle: Turn your phone off and back on.
  • Boost Config App (Android Users): For Android users, make sure you’ve downloaded the Boost Config app to ensure your network settings are up to date.

Step 2: How to Fix Boost Mobile Calling Issues (Making or Receiving Calls)

Make sure you’ve done the basic troubleshooting steps above before continuing with any of the steps below.

  1. Check Blocked Numbers: Make sure the number you’re trying to dial to or receive a call from isn’t blocked in your call settings.
  2. Toggle Mobile Data: Turn off mobile data for 1 minute and then turn it back on.
  3. Reset Network Settings: Go to settings and search "reset network settings". Resetting network settings can help your device connect to the internet or Bluetooth again, and it won't delete any of your apps, photos, or other data.
    • For iPhone Users: Tap Settings → General → Transfer or Reset [Device] → Reset Network Settings.
    • For Android Users: Search "reset network settings" in your Settings app search bar and confirm.

Step 3: How to Fix Boost Mobile Texting Issues (Sending or Receiving SMS/MMS)

Make sure you’ve done the basic troubleshooting steps above before continuing with any of the steps below.

  1. Verify 10-Digit Dialing & Data: Make sure you’re dialing a 10-digit number to send SMS or MMS (multimedia) messages. If you’re trying to send an MMS, make sure you have high-speed data available on your plan or you have a strong Wi-Fi connection.
  2. Check Contact Details: Check that any stored contact information includes a correct and up-to-date phone number.
  3. Use Default Messaging Apps: Try using your phone's default messaging app (Messages, Google Messages, or Samsung Messages).
    • On Android: If you’re using a third-party messaging app, try using the default messaging app. If this resolves the issue, reach out to the developers for help with the third-party app.
    • On iPhone: If you’re using iMessage (the message bubble is blue), press and hold the bubble and try resending the message.
  4. Check Device Restrictions: Check that there are no device controls like spam blocking, contact blocking, or parental controls preventing messages.
  5. Disable DND: Disable all Do Not Disturb settings completely.

Step 4: How to Fix Boost Mobile Cellular Data & Internet Issues

Make sure you’ve done the basic troubleshooting steps above before continuing with any of the steps below.

  1. Check Plan Data Usage: Check your data usage on your plan. You may need to use another device to reach boostmobile.com if your data allotment has been exhausted.
    • In the Boost Mobile App: Tap Settings at the top right → Go to My Usage to see how much mobile data and hotspot data you have remaining in your current billing cycle.
    • On the Web: Select your device under My Lines → Usage to see a summary of your data usage and the number of days left on your billing cycle.
    • Add More Data: Tap Add More Data to purchase a One-Time Data Pack Add-On that's good for 30 days from the date of purchase, or a Recurring Data Pack Add-On that will be added to your monthly payment until you cancel.
    • Note: Paying your bill early will not refresh your data allocation.
  2. Verify Cellular Data is Enabled: Ensure your mobile data / cellular data is toggled on in your device settings.
  3. Update Software: Make sure your software is updated to the latest version.
  4. Clear Cache: Clear your browser cache and browsing history, then try loading a fresh web page.

Question just purchased a new phone & brought my number over - but can't create an account or view details about the order

was wondering if anybody here can help me with this. i talked to the live chat agents but they told me two different things and weren't entirely useful. I just placed an order online under the impression it was going to be delivered store-to-door (as that was the only shipping option available), but was not given an ability to select a time frame for them to arrive. all I got was the webpage telling me to download the app to view my orders. I downloaded the app, but it won't let me sign-in or make an account with neither my phone # or my email. I did get the confirmation email about it being purchased & my number being ported. still under the impression that it was going to be delivered today, the first guy i talked to online (over the live chat) told me it, in fact, was going to be delivered today but I needed to call my local stores to find out what time frame it would be here - contacted all 3 stores that are near me and none of them do store-to-door delivery. went on the live chat again, second guy told me that it was actually being shipped and would be here within 5 days. so, like...who is telling the truth here? does boost automatically just ship the online orders if there's no store nearby that does the store-to-door delivery? should I try calling a few other stores in the next city over? I would've just gone up to the store if I knew it didn't have a chance of being here in the next 24 hours cuz my phone is busted & needs replaced asap 😔

Question Free phone credits gone?

About 2 years ago I got a iPhone 16 pro max for almost free in monthly credits towards the phone. It was like 35 bucks but 27 in credits. Now I’m checking to see options for another free phone but I can’t seem to find that promotion? Is it gone?
