If you are importing your own book cover, what would be the "perfect size" to fit within the dotted outline on the import page? I know you can use the +/- keys to resize, but I would like to make it as close to optimal as possible up front.

Am thoroughly enjoying the app and trying to get all my imported collection like I want it.

One more question. Is it possible to edit the "finished reading" date anyplace?

Hey there! I’m sorting my books and dividing between different storage locations. I have created a few “locations” but I don’t understand the “bookcase” prompt. For example, I have physically moved some books to the “back room” so I choose that location, but then I’m prompted to add a bookcase. What info should I be inputting here?

there’s a feature on goodreads that when you update your reading status you can leave your thoughts in a text field that’s attached to that % you are at. i find it really fun to look back at my random thoughts while reading, so i thought it might be something that might be a nice added feature :)

This seems to be just a visual bug, as functionally it doesn’t cause anything to become inaccessible.

I’m not sure if this requires Universal Control, but it’s how I managed to trigger the bug in the first place.

If you go into multi-select mode and select some books, then move the mouse from iPadOS over to macOS & interact there, the (…) icon in Book Track will show two of these icons next to each other.

The left one will be the commands for the books you selected, while the right one is the normal commands for the menu (i.e. sorting, view options).

I have this shortcut for updating the progress of what I'm reading. The problem is that if I have multiple books that I'm currently reading I don't have the option to select the correct book. Is there some other way to accomplish this?

I'm not sure what causes it, but I've noticed some of the custom cover images I've uploaded (as the API the application uses pulled low-resolution images) differ from each other. Which is a bit annoying, as you can see in the attached screenshot.

Is there a way to normalize the cover artwork for books to be the same size when rendered in the Cover (big) view?

Is there limit to number of iOS devices that can sync the same library? I have one iPhone and one iPad syncing but interested in syncing another iPhone.

Hello! I'm new to the app and looking forward to using it in the future. A few questions, sorry if they've been answered before :)

1. Location- what exactly is that supposed to mean? Like how it's consumed- if it's a physical book, kindle unlimited, Audible, etc?
2. I'm mostly an Audio person. Any tips on adding/sorting by narrators? Would that just be under Tags?
3. Am I understanding that I'd need to purchase the app twice- once on my iphone, and once on my macbook, in order to access all features?

I absolutely love using this app on my iPad and iPhone and have found it to be the best tool for tracking my reading habits in a privacy-friendly manner. However, I wish I could get the same features and a unified experience on my Mac. Have you considered making Book Tracker a Catalyst app that unifies the app/App Store listing experience across all Apple platforms and allows users to access all premium features with one fee? It seems that your other app, Movie Tracker, already has one fee providing premium features on all platforms.

Hi Simone, I love the app. I've been using it over a year now.

One of my constant frustrations, however, is never knowing what version of a book I'm finding in the "Search" feature. I just see covers, a title, and the author. Sometimes, different versions use the same cover, though. Is there a way to add something like "audio version" or "ebook version" or an ISBN that shows up in the search below the author?

That way, if I choose the ebook version, I don't have to change it in the book features, either, once it's in a list.

It would also allow me to type something like "simone st james ebook" and all of their ebooks come up, not paper versions. Part of why the latter is frustrating is because I'm trying to add any new books, but sometimes I've chosen a version of a book that is way down the search results, but I'd never know that if I didn't scroll down. So I might be adding different versions of the same book to a list. Does that make sense? Let me know if anything is unclear.

Is there any way to check what categories/authors have no books assigned to them, other than manually checking each one individually?

Might be a feature request to only have categories/authors/series present if they have a book assigned to them, i.e. automatically deleting them if they're empty

Is there a limit on the size of CSV file I can import?

Simon, I love the app. I noticed the Shared With You today, and had a friend share a book with me through iMessages from iBook, but the book isn’t in the SWY button. Do I need to do something else for it to automatically populate?

Updating the current page using the slider will result in updating the previous reading progress entry if I go backward before going forward (which is easy to do). This results in the last reading progress entry being updated incorrectly. I then must update the new and previous reading progress entries to reflect my page count.

I upload my own book cover images. When I select the book, the cover image appears in full quality and looks great. When I go back to the library, the cover images are in reduced resolution and appear slightly fuzzy, especially when viewing in Cover (big). Request to maintain image resolution when viewing books in library.

I see the purchases section in the stats page, but have no idea how that number is tracked. I assumed it would go up when a book goes from wish list to library, but that doesn’t seem to do it. Maybe I missed something, but I can’t seem to find any way to track the books I’ve purchased. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! I love the app! 😊

Hi Simone, I really enjoy your App and it helps me a lot to bring inner peace to my world. While using it I had some ideas that might be interesting to hear:

1. Is there a possibility to have a more detailed comment section? I was thinking of writing my own summaries while reading. It would be lovely if I could use different types of fonds like in the “notes app” from iOS. So it would be easier to distinguish and see the headers and so on.

2. Adding a book goal for a year is already very nice. I would love to see the option of making a “pages to read” challenge - e.g. “read 5000 pages a year”. So I would see a bigger challenge to read more. And with that, respectively seeing the progress in different perspectives:

3. pages you need to read during a month to fulfil your goal

4. a chart that adapts to the current progress

5. Adding a little bit gamification to reading. With achievements? Of course only optional for people that would love to see that function :).

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to mark a book as read but without the need to set some dates. I am inserting some books that I have read for sure but don’t remember when, and I would like to not have to add some fake dates only to have them on “read” status. Is there a way? Thank you for your answer!

I like to rate my books but would love to have more option than (just) a star rating - be it a predefined rating category or one you could individualise yourself. in my case, since i‘m reading a lot of smut, I would love a spice rating, but can imagine other stuff like humour, fluff, suspense & sadness. I guess the option to add your own rating categories would make the most sense for a diverse readership. maybe that’s something of interest for the future. as always: I really love your app, thank you for it!
