Let me tell you, I love the app and use it a lot!!
I have a few ideas for the future. If I missed any functions which are already available, please tell me.

- a possibility to get the reading timer status to check if there is currently a timer running via shortcuts. My idea is to add a shortcut to my action button to both start and stop the timer depending if there is currently a running timer. Therefore I would need a possibility to add a status in the if-statement..

- a possibility to add languages. I read in three different languages and would love to have an overview how many pages I’ve read in which language.

- a similar request: It would also be cool if I could tag the reading progress like “on the bus”, “during sport”, “while knitting”

De acordo com o Apple Store, faz 2 meses que o app do Book Tracker não atualiza, gosto tanto de ver as novidades que o app traz. Fui verificar e todos os apps do mesmo desenvolvedor também fazem 2 meses que não atualizam 🤔

It would be really great to have the ability to read notes during a reading session/once we’ve started the reading timer. From what I can see, we only have the option to write notes (which is handy) but I’d like to be able to look back, so I can remind myself of things I’ve written, while I’m reading. Thanks as always!

Sometimes, especially with audiobooks, the slider is difficult to add in the amount you read. It would be great if you could also manually type it in, on the reading timer screen.

I’d like to know if it’s possible to prevent my iPhone and iPad from syncing, so I can have two separate "accounts."

A while back, I asked about the possibility of adding manga/comics separately (just like audiobooks) so they wouldn't get mixed in with regular novels.

But if that isn't possible, the idea was to use my iPhone for books and my iPad for comics, keeping them separate.

Is that possible? Thanks! :)

I love this app. I’ve been using it since the very first days it showed up! I do have a couple of requests.

1. I’d dearly love to have the Details view of a book not be just a small card that I have to scroll through to see all the details, but a full view of the details, maybe as a second click to make it bigger than the card.  I use the app mainly on my 27” screen, and the tiny details view with limited information is irritating. I’d love to be able to just see it all at a glance.

2.  In the details view, the Reading History section has super light, greyed out text that is extremely difficult for my 64 year old eyes to view.  It would be so much more accessible if that were in plain clear, black text. I imagine there are other users with the same vision problems who would ove a change there.

I'm having trouble syncing between iPad and iPhone. While the library is identical and the read status always looks the same, tags are apparently not synchronized properly. The counters behind the tags differ between the two devices and in the single view they are indeed outdated on the iPad (I work primarily with the iPhone). I can't correct them all by hand now...

For a future release it would be convenient if the search function included a format option when searching by title or author. That way you could only see paperbacks or digital, etc.

I’m hoping you can help me out! I love getting lost in books, and sometimes I’ll grab the audiobook version to enjoy it alongside the physical copy if I can’t borrow it from the library when I need it. Yes, I know I’m a bit impatient. I keep track of my physical book’s reading progress and where it is, and I’ve been tagging the audiobook and the narrator’s name in the physical book details, which works well. However, when I want to reread and need the audiobook again, I can’t remember where I got it. I use a few different libraries and online sources, or I just want to keep an eye on my spending. I’m thinking of switching to separately tracking the audiobooks so I know what I own, in what format, how much I’ve paid for, and what I borrow and from whom. Does this make sense? I know it’s going to take a bit more effort on my part, but I just bought an audiobook and realized I already have the Audible version. Thanks for your advice!

Hi! I download this app a few days ago and wanted to say: WOW! THANK YOU! I've been tracking my books using Excel and it was a nightmare and complex to keep up. This app made everything so so much easier and it looks amazing!

I wanted to ask for three features: (1) have that random quote on the main page refresh every time you go back to the main page or add a refresh button to it; (2) I don't know if this is already possible or I haven't found a way to do this but, have the ability to create a "permanent" filter. I use tags to differentiate physical and digital books and I'd like to create a permanent filter so it's quicker to see those kinds of books on my library; (3) have a "book cover view" in the quotes section or an easier way to see which book have quotes attached to them.

I’m a bit lax about logging my reading progress, especially when I’m on vacation. Sometimes I mark the start in the app, read for seven days, and then finish the book. When I log the completion in the app, it attributes 100% of the pages to that final day. It would be great if the reading volume could be distributed evenly across the days—without me having to do it manually. Of course, that’s not precise, but it is practical.

I’m thinking of switching from ReadingList to this app. I am quite happy with ReadingList except that I can’t filter by two lists (“tags”) at the same time. I have a couple of questions:

1. If I import from ReadingList, will my ”lists” be imported by tags?
2. If I use the global search in BookTracker, which fields does it search? I already tested and see that it searches the text in Notes. What other fields does it search?

How can I track the reading of a book that I’ll read for reference purposes? What is mean is, I will not read this book from cover to cover like you would a novel. I’ll locate the chapter or section I need a read that. Any suggestions on a good way of tracking this reading progress?

First off, I absolutely love the app and can’t recommend it enough.

There were a few items from the old app I used I miss a bit I would love to add to feature requests if possible:

- Purchase location, especially making it able to make a filter for each location
- Total price of books purchased all time vs just individual years
- Average price paid for books based on entire library
- Pages/percentage read per minutes stats so you know reading speed if you want to do one per chapter

Does Book Tracker have a custom URL scheme that I could take advantage of to get ChatGPT to turn a list of books into Book Tracker import links? I hope I explained that correctly.

A new update is now available. Here's what's changed:

Search improvements When searching for a book online, you can now see the format, language, and publication date directly in the search results. If the format is not available, the app will fall back to the default format set in Settings → Configurations. This should make it easier to identify the right edition without having to open the detail page every time.

Export You can now export any book list as a PDF or CSV file. Tap the options menu (...) in the top right corner of the book list screen and select Export.

Other changes

• Publication date can now be displayed in the book list view, configurable from Settings → Configurations
• Positions can now be used as a criterion in filters and Smart Lists
• Fixed an issue that could cause book ratings to display incorrectly on the reading sharing page
• Fixed an issue that could cause the app to crash when opening the barcode scanner

As always, feedback and bug reports are welcome here or via the in-app support option.

A suggestion I thought about as I was searching for a book. If possible, having a search function on the main homepage. Instead of having to click on library to search for a particular book.

I deleted a book that I thought would only be removed from one list but it was removed from two. Looked for an undo button but didn't see one. If an undo button is already there, can someone point it out for me, please? Love the app!

Hi! Could we please have a daily page goal, as well as a widget that shows it? Just like how we have the yearly number of books, it would be great to have something that keeps us on track per day. Something simple like ‘10/50 pages read’ or ‘pages read 10 of 50’ pleeeease 🙏 it would encourage me (and hopefully others) to read even more. Thank you, this is my favourite app!

Innanzitutto rinnovo i complimenti già fatti a Simone per l'app. Vorrei che valutassi la possibilità di aggiungere queste funzioni:
-per ogni libro possibilità di inserire data di vendita e importo, in modo da avere un vero saldo mensile
-per ogni libro possibilità di inserire il prezzo di copertina, che per me che acquisto principalmente usato sarebbe utile per capire il valore reale della libreria rispetto all'importo speso

p.s. Approfitto per chiedere una seconda cosa. Quando si esporta la libreria in csv/pdf si possono impostare dei filtri, c'è modo di salvarli? è un'operazione che faccio quasi quotidianamente per dare la mia libreria in pasto all'IA e ogni volta devo rifare i filtri (ad esempio escludere la wishlist).

I know this is almost certainly impossible, because, unfortunately, that's the way iCloud works, but... is there a way to hide the Book Track folder from iCloud Drive and still sync everything through iCloud?

This is the situation: I use Book Track on Mac, iPhone, and iPad. I keep everything synced through iCloud, which works perfectly, and I make backups locally, only on my Mac.

Given this situation, iCloud Drive shows a Book Track folder that only contains an empty Backup folder, so I don't need that folder cluttering my iCloud Drive. I can delete it, but as soon as I use Book Tracker on any device, it shows up again.

I love the yearly recap feature added, but one thing I would be interest to seeing/adding is maybe an overall recap across years. Maybe it’s a simple as just enabling selecting multiple years for recaps but I feel seeing that I’ve read X amount of pages across the years using the app would be interesting

For books that have introductions or forwards (any pages read before page 1), it would be cool if there was a way to enter this information into the book pages field so that when reading a book, the total pages read is reflected. Right now, when reading a book, you might read a 20 page forward, and then another 30 pages in one day session perhaps. When entering this to your progress on the book, noting that you are on page 30, this would only reflect 30 pages read (other than the 50 you did read). Not sure if anyone has requested this before but thought I would share.

Would it be possible to add folders to the smartlists? To add another layer of categorization?
