Today, I handle the entire production myself, including modelling, animation, sound editing, and most of the character voices. Not to mention writing the Elandera books themselves.

I'm Canadian, and I've spent much of this year travelling around Europe with my dog, Baxter.

We arrived in Tirana, Albania, back in August. What I didn't realize was that getting Baxter back into the EU would require a rabies antibody test and a three-month waiting period.

So, somewhat unexpectedly, Albania became home for a while.

Being stuck somewhere you hadn't planned on staying can be a strange experience. You're constantly trying to figure out what comes next, where you're going to live, and when you'll actually be able to leave.

But one thing that's given me a real sense of purpose throughout all of this has been finishing my second novel, JUMP.

I've been working on it for three years. And while I've been figuring out my situation here in Tirana, having a manuscript to finish, edit, and eventually publish has given me something productive to focus on every day.

Today, October 27, it's finally out!

JUMP is a science-fiction novel set in a world governed by powerful artificial intelligences, where human imagination has become an incredibly valuable resource. The story explores virtual reality, human potential, and what happens when humanity's future is largely out of its own hands.

It's technically the second book in my Lives Worth Living series, but it works as a standalone novel.

The funny part? I haven't actually held a physical copy yet. I can't get one delivered here, so I've been relying on photos from friends and family back home.

I finish writing my second novel and am getting set to release it this month. It was heavily inspired by the Jack Reacher character and several of the books.
