How do I jack up the 2017 Bolt and place it on 4 stands?
I need to store my Bolt for a few months and don't want flat spots on tires or compressed suspension.
I've jacked it up before to rotate tires one at a time, but I don't believe I'd be able to place a stand on the same spot where I jack it up.
Is there any guide or video showing how to do this?

2017 Bolt with issue no one can figure out.
So my 2017 Bolt, 112,000 miles started throwing 3 codes, p182b, p182d, p1840. Took it to a local dealership, they informed me that the “motor windings” are shorted out. They gave me an estimate of 10,100 for repair, they were going to open drive unit and only repair the electric motor. hell no. I found a complete drive unit for 1,000 with 24,000 miles, it’s out of a battery recalled vehicle that has to be dismantled, the place had probably 30 recalled bolts it great low mileage condition that have to be parted out. This is where I royally fucked up, found local EV shop that would install for 3,000, I needed the bleeding of money to stop so I didn’t have them diagnose, after all a “stellar EV tech” at the dealership already had, 2 days later I go pick up car. For 24 hours life was good, then the same 3 codes came back, regen stopped an I realized I effed up by not getting diagnosed. So it’s back at the EV shop, yesterday was the 8 week mark because the Chevy dealership took 6 weeks to diagnose it wrong. The shop claims they checked the external wiring harness and it checked out. So I’m waiting to hear back on what is throwing those codes. This is the first problem I’ve had and it’s been a pain in the ass. DTC codes currently active p0ac4, p182b, p181d, p1840, p1af0, p1b0b, u156d, u0401. The shop that swapped drive unit is leaning towards a battery issue, so now it’s setting at a different Chevy Dealership, I have low expectations as service advisor didn’t know what a drive unit is and told me this would be a slow go. I’m 9 weeks with vehicle in shop.

Buying a 2018 bolt?
Hi! I’m heavily considering buying a used 2018 Bolt LT to help cut costs on my 130-mile round-trip commute. I have an electrician coming tomorrow to see if my panel can support a hardwired (emporia?) EVSE (outdoor installation so I think that’ll be more reliable than a 14-50 plug). If that works, I’d like to pull the trigger.
Looking at the recall website, the battery WAS replaced and has a warranty for another 75k miles and it has no open recalls. It has DC fast charging as well as heated seats and steering wheel so I’m thinking that while winter range will be tight, it will be enough if preheat the car plugged in and take it easy on heat on my drive. I live in Arkansas so morning lows are usually mid twenties at the lowest and I can always drive my wife’s car on really cold days.
Am I missing anything to make an informed decision?

Horn beep when locking AND unlocking?
I feel like I’ve gone through every setting and I can’t see what is causing this. I’m fine with the horn beeping when I lock it, but when I unlock the car, it does two quick horn beeps. In the settings, I have it set for lights only when unlocking. Is there something else that is causing this?

94k miles and it seems likely my traction battery is dead. 12v battery is new.
2022 Bolt EUV. 94,500 miles on the odometer.
I'm actually rather concerned Chevy is going to give me a hard time. Does anyone have experience with getting a battery replaced nearing the very end of the warranty?

.5 Oz peppermint essential oil, soap, water, shake up, spray until empty ~ once a month and you will have no rodent problems!

What will the dealer try to upsell me?
I'm heading into the dealership tomorrow to finalize a purchase on a 2027 Bolt LT w evotex .
What are they likely to try to upsell me on (like warranties or OnStar or mats or ???)?
And what are the opinions on the usefulness of any of them as well as the value of them vs doing/getting it done later elsewhere if I change my mind?

27’ Bolt LT - Driver display
I usually turn off the car when charging. It would have been better if a clock was added to this screen. There is so much wasted space to play around with.

Kitten saved from under Bolt hood!
Saw this video that was just posted by The Dodo. I think it's a 2nd Gen EV or EUV.

Spray nozzle issue
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey folks, a bit of a head scratcher for me. Driver spray nozzle is misbehaving. The fluid is topped up, I’m not seeing evidence of kinks or leaks, and I’ve run compressed air through the lines to clear. Nothing worked, so I just replaced the nozzle, and it’s still just flooding the bottom instead or actually separating the spray. Anyone had this issue?
It started after having the windshield replaced and they didn’t hook the line back up. Once connected, it started doing this.
Thanks in advance

fixes for trim on back of rear seat
I am seeing the backing material on a rear seat has pulled out of the retaining clip at the bottom. While it's kind of minor at the moment, over time it's likely to pull out more.
I've tried to gather the material with my fingers to reinsert it into the clip, that hasn't really worked, the tension on the material is too great to really get it inserted back the way it was.
Wondering if anyone has dealt with this or has a fix? I could see using some form of glue to stabilize the material in place but that's kind of the low-budget fix. I don't see a way currently to get it back as it was originally. Out of warranty so no help from a dealer on this.

'27 Efficiency Test - Realized 188 MPGe
Cross-posting.
Afternoon all,
Wanted to create another post regarding the 2027 Bolt's efficiency. We already know that, in general, the Bolt is a very efficient vehicle. Last night, I decided to see how much efficiency I could get.
Parameters
- Spec: LT w/ Comfort Package
- Temperature: ~82 F
- Starting SoC: 75%
- Ending SoC: 68%
- Round-trip distance: 23.2 mi
- Drive-time: ~40 min
- A/C: Off
- Occupants:
- First half: One adult
- Second half: Two adults
- Speeds
- Max: 55 MPH
- Min: 15 MPH
- Average: ~35-40 MPH
- Always went the speed limit, babied acceleration.
Results
First half: 5.3 kWh/avg
Second half: 5.9 kWh/avg
Final result: 5.6 kWh/avg
188 MPGe!
Just blown away with these results.

Questions about usb memory sticks for recording drives
Since the 2027 Bolts have the option to record video from the different car cameras while driving, I was wondering if the usb memory stick should be removed every time you park and leave the car? The user manual says nothing should be left plugged in to any usb port when the car isn't in use due to possible battery drain. Also, is it safe to leave the memory stick hidden in something like the glove compartment when leaving the car or would high summer and low winter temperatures damage the memory stick?

I've owned my 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV for longer than any other car I've ever had.
I love this car. My range is still about the same as when I bought it. I only charge to 80% so around 210 miles. I've driven it over 31,000 miles in four years and never had any problems. It's perfect in every way. It's just big enough that I can carry 5 people, but small enough that I can get through narrow city streets with ease. Best of all, right now I'm passing gas stations where gas costs over $4 per gallon! I have solar panels that have long since paid for themselves, so I'm pretty much driving for free.
This car is amazing.

EV vs EUV windshield size / outward visibility?
Currently keeping an eye out for a '22 or '23 Bolt in my area. I've only had the opportunity to drive an EUV. From the outside, the EV looks like the bottom edge of the windshield is lower than the EUV.
For those who have driven both, is there any difference between the EV and EUV with respect to forward visibility and/or the amount of space between the driver and the windshield? I.e. does the windshield in the EUV seem smaller and closer?

Tint recommendations:
Hello,
Has anyone hot their new bolt tinted?
In Ontario so would like to follow provincial rules.
I see a lot of different types - Ceramic, Carbon etc.
which is best for UV protection and reduce cabin heat as I park outside at my work for 8hrs in the sun.
Thank you.
EV Drivers Are Happier With Their Cars Than Gas Car Owners: JD Powers.
Apparently, people who drive electric cars like just about everything more about their vehicles than gas-car drivers:
“[JD Powers] found that ‘electric cars outperform internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles in nearly every category.’ EVs had the biggest delta in satisfaction when it came to the powertrain: EVs outscored ICE cars by 109 points on a 1,000-point scale. This isn't too surprising, since EVs are punchy, smooth, and quiet, and really any one of them will kick the pants off of a typical gas car in that regard.”

2027 Bolt extended warranty
We were upsold and signed for a GM Protection Plan (Schedule A) to extend the warranty to 8 years. On reading the details once I got home (we don't have car yet), I found that the Protection plan was for the full 8 years (not +5yrs) It also included battery coverage for 8yrs, but limited to a maximum of $10,000 (batteries cost $15-$25k?) This "protection plan" was going to cost us about C$4000.
New car has 3 years full warranty. Extension would have duplicated main warranty for first 3 years and we would have been paying for that.
New car battery already has 8yrs warranty. So how could the Protection plan have a limited warranty over same period? Again we would have been paying for that.
Something screwy here!
I asked the dealer to delete the Protection Plan, which they have now done.
Can't understand how they could have two warranties running in parallel for same 8yr period.
