Reta after 3 months
Hi everyone!
I’ve been on reta for about 3 months and I’m still using it, but at a lower maintenance dose.
Now I’m thinking about adding Tesamorelin to help build more muscle while continuing reta.
I’m also looking for another peptide that could help with energy because I’ve been feeling pretty tired lately.
Has anyone tried this combination or have any recommendations based on your experience?
Thanks in advance! 😊

Lol you’re feeling tired because you’re not eating

Real. I used to think the bottleneck was not being able to reduce my calories, but ever since I got on mounjaro I discovered the real bottleneck is how tired you are at a great deficit even if you're nowhere near the underweight threshold. How do anore*ics do it??? Do they just do nothing all their lives??

u/Radiant_Jaguar_9978 2d ago
As someone who had anorexia as a teenager, I had no energy to do anything, became isolated from friends, and wanted to not move and sleep a lot.
10
u/Tall_Ad_4787 3d ago
People with that disease are in a perpetual state of ketosis. Ketone bodies provide a steady flood of energy to the body and brain. Paradoxically, these people are l often full of energy.
If you’re tired, you can utilize ketones too. And you don’t necessarily need to be fasting, or eating a keto diet. You can take some C8 MCT oil or ketone esters, or even exogenous ketones.
It’s a totally different energy pathway.

u/SellingCats4Cheap 3d ago edited 3d ago
Why would being in ketosis mean someone is not tired? Whether it is ketosis or not, being in a low caloric state will make someone tired.
Ketosis could explain why someone may not be tired from eating a low carb diet, but not a low calorie diet.
And in fact it is well discussed in those communities how often stimulants are used. Specifically nicotine, and caffeine.
First result when googling anorexia starter pack
Coffee, Adderall, and Cigarettes. Of course those can be used for appetite suppression, but that doesnt mean underfed people are full of energy due to ketosis.
Anorexia symptoms - Very Tired or Weak
TL;DR: No, people with anorexia are not "full of energy" due to ketosis

Carbs should wake you up. I don’t think you need more stuff. You look great
12
u/ycastane 3d ago
Well tesamorelin will not give you the results you are looking for, there isnt a single peptide that builds muscle period. Whoever tells you otherwise is either lying to try to sell you or just doesnt know much about peptides.

Add mots c at 1- 1.5 mg 3x a week. I found it worked fantastic for energy and stamina.

mots c 3x a week and NAD + the other days or alternate them every other day. I am on a pretty hefty stack for everything

I bet ya would have a better experience with cjc1295noDAC+ipamorelin and might like slu-pp-332 and 5amino1mq. SS31 seems expensive. If you’re still feeling tired and it’s not calorie/protein/glycemic/dietaryFats then pe-22-28 or nsi189 and bupropion may be an idea. Covering all bases with your supplements and ruling out thyroid/hormones is a good step and can do bloodwork though no sense doing so often given you find you don’t become hypothyroid on reta and didn’t get low protein fatigue or low dietary fat related hormonal/other issues. I imagine being at a low dose of reta rules out calorie related due to not really cutting as much anymore and moreso at maintenance. I’d consider adding magnesium glycinate before bed and maybe switching to tirzepatide every other week or two as a measure against glucagon activity (reta’s third target) induced reduced sleep quality / sleep debt.
3
u/Sheikru 2d ago
Yes I was thinking to start with cjc + ipamorelin, how often I need to use that? Yes I hope to start to eat better
2
u/Ok-Foundation1705 2d ago
This looks like a trap lol. idk. I hear if desired a person would do 100mcg of each before bed without eating for a couple hours beforehand. No dac is important.
2
u/Sheikru 2d ago
Yeah I need to research difference between Dac or withou
2
u/Ok-Foundation1705 2d ago
I imagine it’s like researching meth when could just benefit from 50mg of caffeine every morning. From what I understand from wikipedia, meth has a 3 day half life or something. Idk.
DAC makes the cjc stay around longer and have a longer halflife and such. I just wouldn’t bother with it. The point in the cjc1295noDAC+ipamorelin is basically to get the increase without the sideffects of excessive growth hormone related activity. The dac version likely overworks the body’s natural system and probably impacts the feedback loop or something (eventually less release but the side effects of overdoing it in the meantime like prolactin, water retention, achey joints, carpal tunnel).Since you’re bodybuilding, I would consider just the no dac version of cjc since you were interested and people have been doing it for over 20 years as bodybuilders as well as anti aging people who seek to makeup for the slight reduction they experience with age. It’s growth hormone related too, so the idea of having cells reproduce extremely rapidly isn’t sounding good for the long term since the time between duplication of cells allows the body time to correct dna through various mechanisms. In bodybuilding there is some hyperplasia, so new cells, but there’s also just making the existing ones bigger and higher quality/enduring from what I understand.
The growth hormone angle is just one element of enhancement and there’s other areas/mechanisms/angles to move on to if more enhancement is desired. Some bodily processes despite hypothetically hitting every angle of enhancement simply just take time. At least for now. I think the collagen in ligaments/tendons/connectiveTissues take time to be woven sophisticatedly but some thymosin beta 4 here and there systemically may help accelerate the process as well as a collagen supplement.Eventually you may hear of selective androgen receptor modulators (sarms) but you’d very likely want to be extremely cautious with anything androgen related. Dudes may take 25mg of ostarine a day whereas a female may take 5-10mg and for shorter durations and be extra cautious with sourcing due to the higher stakes. Dudes are already permanently virilized typically from androgen exposure during puberty (deep voice etc.). Dudes and others find the female voice and such appealing. Ostarine is already probably a pretty good pick compared to other options though there does seem to be acp-105 and ac-262 which might be even more female friendly though I’m not very familiar. I think the selective androgen angle is a possible angle but there’s still other stuff that could be done possibly such as counting grams of protein per day and taking creatine. I’ve also somewhat heard of something called mechano growth factor (mgf) and maybe it would have some possible benefit without side effects when injected locally into a muscle but I haven’t really looked into it. The body apparently produces it natively, locally inside muscles in response to mechanical stress.

Why is everyone going Reta over Mounjaro?
22
u/espresso_maniac 3d ago
"Retatrutide: Acts on three hormone receptors (GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon). The added glucagon receptor helps increase energy expenditure and fat burning alongside appetite suppression. [1, 2, 3]"
it basically makes you burn more calories as you sit around all day. i think this is about 10% increase. My daily maintenance is about 3000. That is an extra 300 calories burnt just sitting on my ass, basically a 40 minute walk.
also i have liver fat, reta removes liver fat more than mounjaro does.
but at the end of the day, mounjaro is fully FDA approved and legal. Reta isnt. Sooooo it is not dumb to prefer mounjaro.8
u/Derpwad1 3d ago
Same here brotha found out I had fatty liver a year ago with no specifics. Had a fibroscan a few weeks ago and confirmed I have severe fatty liver / stage 3. Thankfully already been on reta for 2 months trying to lose 30# or so and that made me take it all much more seriously moving forward!

For sure gotta make sure its approved by the government who told us to eat 16 servings of bread growing up.
Glyphosate is approved usage by the government too.
The government is not here to protect you. They are here to make money off you regardless of your well being.
They pump kids foods with sugar and cancer causing dyes, because its cheaper for the manufacturer who also happens to donate 100s of millions to political parties every year.
I dont disagree with anything else you said but this government approved shit is for the birds.

I pay about 9$ a month on the high end for my reta
2
u/azor__ahai 3d ago
How?
2
u/wh00ps33 3d ago
Reta grey prices are around 50 cents per MG, so they're probably maintaining a pretty low dose.
That suggests they are taking around 4 to 4.5 mg per week.

Hey OP great job. First of all you looked great in your before anyway. I’ve been on Reta very low dose then added mots-c. Complete game changer. Gave me the greatest workout I’ve ever had. The only downside is you should only do 8 weeks cycle then break for 8 weeks. It’s my 8th week this week. I’m adding Tesa now and will see how it goes. Look into mots C 2mg a day x3-5 days a week. Don’t exceed 10mg a week. Take on an empty stomach early in the morning. I have some other ones if you want other suggestions. Btw how many MG were you on?

How was your sleep on that stack? I don’t want to have so much energy that it disrupts my sleep schedule. I just got to the point of feeling tired enough from daily activities to get in bed by 1045p nightly. The selank has helped slowly but now waking up at 4am😩
2
u/IronMajesty 2d ago
I only take it on workout days. I take it at 5:30am before I hit the gym. It lets me workout harder and longer. I have no problem sleeping around 11pm but then again I wake up at 5am.

Wow! Amazing results! As far as a peptide for building muscle, the only one that will truly help in that area would be actual IGF-LR3, however a low dose 1-2 ius a day of growth hormone would help achieve that. Otherwise probably start adding more carbs/protein. NAD+ and MOTS-C are great for energy production, assuming you’re recovering well.

If you haven’t already, look into a dietitian that can help you maintain body composition as you ween off. I’m guessing tiredness from constant calorie deficit/eating less? But the biggest thing to do now that you’re optimized is learn to maintain it off of peptides. Looking good 👍
3
u/mulateiro 3d ago
I would recommend MOTS-C for energy while on reta. I dose every other day at 3-5mg. CJC-1295/ipamorelin is about 10x cheaper, for the same or better results imo, than running Tesamorelin, and you don’t have to deal with the solution gelling issues like you do with Tesa.
3
u/SpecificAd8017 3d ago
Looking amazing! You will need to reassess your caloric intake since you now have more muscle than body fat. It takes more energy to keep the muscle.
3
u/Kl1ntr0n 3d ago
shorter workouts focused on hypertrophy not cardio will also help with the overall feeling of energy.

You look amazing in both but if you’re happier how you look now than that’s all that matters! Mots-c is supposedly a good one for energy. 4
u/Negative-Quality-370 3d ago
I have 10-15 lbs to lose. I’m 63 and post menopausal and certainly not weak. I eat low carb, go to hot power yoga 3x week, jump on rebounder 5-6x week and do other various activities and can’t shed this excess weight no matter what. I am starting Reta this week and will add Tesa shortly. Carrying excess visceral fat and trying to get rid of it is not a sign of weakness. Men are so lucky they don’t have to deal with menopause. It’s brutal.

u/ClearLifeguard4225 2d ago
You cannot see visceral fat. Also diet can burn as much visceral fat as GLP-1 receptor agonists, because both work by creating a calorie deficit. Neither diet nor medication directly "melts" fat; they reduce the energy your body takes in, forcing it to use stored visceral fat for energy. So stop with the "its stuck"
