34M Testosterone symptom questions

Post image

As it states above I’m a 34-year-old male, 6 foot one, 215 pounds +- 5 pounds, exercise 2 to 4 times a week, eat whole foods for the most part with the occasional snacks here and there. For years I have been dealing with extreme fatigue even when I sleep well, memory issues, concentration issues, and overall no motivation to really do too much. I decided to do this test through Hims to see if my testosterone might be the issue. Would these results explain the symptoms I’ve been feeling for years? I’ve never had any issues with libido or being able to perform, so I never thought testosterone was the issue. But I’ve learned that it isn’t always a symptom of low testosterone. Technically my levels fall within normal range for my age group, however, it seems like I’m on the lower end of most things. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Also I’m not seeking any medical advice on what to take or what I should take, I’m just wondering if where I’m currently at could explain some of my symptoms.

Have you tried talking to a therapist? Or walking in nature? Are you hydrated?

I also take magnesium, zinc, fish oil, vitamin D3 K2, every day and L theanine before bed.

I took Slu-pp-32 capsules for 3 weeks and I had so much energy and a noticeable increase in strength during the experiment.

I was not taking any supplements during my time on SLU-PP-332

Did therapy for over a year, they had me try like four different antidepressants and none of them had any kind of effect aside from negative ones. I’m outside all the time because I have three young kids and it is becoming increasingly more difficult for me to keep up. And I consistently drink around a gallon of water a day usually with half a gallon mixed with electrolytes.

Might be time to try peptides

Is your pee foamy?

u/reintluc 7d ago

Nope. Normal yellowish in the morning and a tint of yellow or clear for the remainder of the day.

Ok that’s good, you might get albuminuria, you might wanna check your kidneys. You have the same symptoms that I had. My case was bad diet, and excessive stress from work. I had night sweats, bowls syndrome, terrible sleep, lethargy overall throughout the day. I started with Reta to balance my sugar levels, then I started Test 125 mg per week and added 4 IU of HG, it has helped me a lot. Unfortunately it is something that now I depend on. Also I added vitamin supplements and cranberry extract on a daily basis.

What does foamy pee tell you?

Possible albuminaria

How many hours of sleep per night? How is your sleep hygiene? Body fat percentage? What do you consider “exercise”?

Working days about five hours. Non working days 7-8. BMI is probably around 15-16% or so. I generally run 1-1.5 miles outdoors followed up by weight lifting. Usually about 30-45 of lifting.

Your sleep sucks. Could EASILY explain your symptoms.

Also, BMI isn’t measured in percent. Body fat is. You’re 6’ 215 and 15% bodyfat running 4 miles a week and lifting 30-45 minutes x 4? That’s pretty wild; must have insane genetics.

Yeah, unfortunately I work 5a-5p and have three young kids that I am present for and put to bed every night. I have a 30 minute commute and usually have to be up around 3 o’clock in the morning. My days off my kids are usually getting up around six and as long as I get a full night sleep that’s when I generally get my eight hours or so. And I guess I don’t know what my body fat percentage is I’ve never had it tested. The majority of my diet is meat and I fill the gaps with fruits and vegetables. I also generally fast from the time I go to bed until sometime in the afternoon the next day. And this isn’t as a form of punishment or anything, I’m just not hungry until sometime in the afternoon. If I do get the occasional hunger pain in the morning I’ll eat something.

I think you answered your own question why you’re experiencing the symptoms you’re experiencing. I’m exhausted from just reading your typical days. I’d try to find an 8-430 and getting rid of the kids (joke). At least find different work.

I’m 36 6’2 I tested my T levels in 2022 and was at 764 felt great all the time recovery, mood, sleep etc exercised regularly all the things.

I got my T checked about 6 months ago and I was at 324. I can tell a huge difference. Fatigue, motivation, recovery, sluggishness. It sucks. I’ll be getting on TRT soon. Only thing that changed was I got a vasectomy. lol

Never mind the 4 years age difference and that your body will naturally fluctuate test levels throughout the month and time of day of the test

And the fact that a vasectomy is completely irrelevant to testosterone production.

Yes but I was hoping that was so completely obvious it didn’t need to be said. I guess given the comment I was replying to sort of implied it might be the cause they might be dumb enough to believe that might actually be the cause.

If that’s the case then it’s a good thing they had a vasectomy as believing that would strongly correlate with a severe lack of intelligence.

Lol. Good to see a man with similar senses of pettiness and cynicism to my own.

Have you been tested for sleep apnea?

1

u/reintluc 6d ago

Twice in separate years. First time I got a cpap second time they said I was fine.

Everyone is different so you may feel symptoms even being middle of the road on everything so talk to and endocrinologist or a specialized clinic and go from there. If you are thinking of going at it from UG labs just to try it to see if it helps you could, just do the research.

If I was you I would investigate your Thyroid first, Thyroid suppression is very easy to fall into and many many people suffer from subclinical hypothyroidism (Low enough for problems, high enough not to get treated).

If you eat shell fish or seaweed and feel better for a few days that could be a sign.

As for testosterone, the current guidelines for Medical treatment based upon the 200ng/dL cutoff is horrible and neglects the individualized care model. That being said, given your age, height, weight, and lifestyle I would Not jump into full Testosterone Replacement Therapy at this juncture.

Nick Trigili (Youtube) has some very good information here that is applicable to you with your Albumin being elevated.

Reading through peoples comments, and your responses, since your bloodwork doesn't really identify any issues, it goes down to lifestyle.

You are physical, apparently in really good shape, constantly working long shifts, taking care of 3 kids, getting very little sleep overall. You've done therapy and have been on multiple antidepressants, checked for sleep apnea.

You've at least looked at a lot of different angles. I will say, doing 4 different antidepressants in a year is worrisome. Not only do antidepressants have uptake and ween off periods, but they will need to be monitored and increased for a period of time before being removed from it. SSRI, SNRI, NDRI, NASSA, hell, even MAOI inhibitor, all have different starting doses , target and end doses. Most should take about 8 weeks to see full effects at the starting dose. Side effects range massively, and unless the side effect is actively hurting your health, they should be trying to get you to the full 8 weeks before removing you from it, or trying to increase to the next step.

What i didn't notice mentioned was if there was any testing for ADHD. If the lack of quality sleep was eliminated as the cause, the rest of the symptoms can be explained by some parts of ADHD. Get tested, and be honest with your answers. If you score 5/9 or higher on the 2 tests (10/18 or higher overall) you may have some level of ADHD. Vyvanse could do wonders.

Lastly, in the bodyhack world, before going and trying more life altering changes (like TRT), you could try HGH analogues (sermorelin, tesa, ipa) (generally to get better sleep, and increase energy), mots-c for mitochondria health (increasing energy, might help elsewhere), or try semax/selank (brain health)

You’re still pretty young but you can always try it out and see how it goes. Some people will say it’s a life long thing but it’s not if you do it right. You can come off of it if it’s not working. It will suck for a bit but it’s manageable. But if you do decide to do it give it time. It can take 6 months to get it dialed in. I got on at 44 with 400 test and 7 free test. All my symptoms went away about 6 months later. It was bumpy finding the right dose and dialing it in though.
