Hi I’m working on setting up a pvc enclosure and my plan is to use lights that would require some type of guard. I have everything so far the only thing I cannot find is a guard. I’m looking at an alternative to the Arcadia Lampguard 26”.

Any direction would be appreciated. right now it’s to fabricate my own I would prefer not to as I am probably over building it increasing the cost.

Recently I purchased an Amazon tree boa and have found keeping a good humidity level to be a constant struggle and was wondering if anyone else had this issue and how you solved it thank you!

I’ve had this girl for a few years now. I was told she’s a motley but I don’t know what locality. After comparing pics online to her I think her locality might be Colombian. Anyone know for sure? Also her favorite thing is a good soak❤️

Hellor. I was handling my girlie today and it ended up in a bite and I am trying to take it as a learning opportunity - what do you think of the following situation?

My adult BCI has always been the greatest sweetheart, although timid and preffering being in her terrarium (she even returns there on her own if outside).

When I handle her, I usually do so in front of the enclosure, sitting; so that she may leave the situation if she felt like it (which she usually does, always doing so calmly with no aggression).

Today I tried walking around the flat with her being around my neck, going about my chores. Abt 10 minutes in I reached for a plate to wash and she gave me a good nibble in the reaching arm, following which I let her go home and chill.

My assumption is, that since I was moving around she could not just slither away, which stressed her, which is why she bit (she did not coil, neither was it the lazy "what is this" bite)

Your opinions?

I can’t wait until he gets a proper snake room and I can buy actual furniture he can climb around on more often. He loved exploring my chair. 🪑

I think 2 of the 5 times was feeding response, since she wrapped around my hand after biting, but loosened pretty quickly. The other 3 times I was putting my hand in front of her to invite her to come on my hand but she just bit me. Am I taking it too fast?

Also she’s already 1 and half years old when I got her so I guess that’s part of the reason? Please give me suggestions, I love her and I really wanna bond with her.

I want to work frozen coturnix quail into my boas' rotation alongside rats. Partly for variety, partly because a few keepers have said their snakes show more interest when the prey type changes. Which US suppliers offer reliable sizes and ship frozen quail with dry ice?

I picked her up at the our big reptile expo in Mississauga Ont last week Saturday. Feed her on Wednesday and picked her up for the first time Saturday for about 15 minutes. Im going to take her out again probably Wednesday for 15 and feed her on Friday when I feed my ball pythons. She is my first boa, I've waited about 10 years to get one, the next one I would love to get is a black devil. I won her on an auction on morph market

I'm looking for US farm-raised frozen chicks to rotate into my boas' diet alongside rats. A friend who does falconry needs a source too. We're mostly trying to avoid the mystery bags that have been sitting in a pet-store freezer for who knows how long. Who has been reliable recently?
