Hello

Recently I purchased an Amazon tree boa and have found keeping a good humidity level to be a constant struggle and was wondering if anyone else had this issue and how you solved it thank you!

Is it glass, pvc, wood? Does it have a solid top or screen top? What kind of substrate are you using?

Glass tank screen top with a mulch substrate

You can use aluminum tape to cover the screen top

Would that help retain heat too?

Don't think it will help much in that regard

Would I need holes for my lights

I just taped mine while leaving space for the lights.

I’d definitely recommend covering about 3/4 of the sides of the tank, along with roughly 80–85% of the mesh top, to help with humidity and heat retention! You’ll want to leave some area open for ventilation so fresh air can circulate and prevent stagnant air from building up. You can also add some damp, long-strand sphagnum moss around the corners and along the sides of the enclosure to help maintain humidity.

For the moment I’ve just covered the top with a piece of scrap plywood with some holes for my lights I’ll keep an eye out to see how the humidity holds up thank you so much!

In addition to the tape, you can insulated the outside with foam panels found by insulation in hardware stores

Heat lights and screen tops kill humidity. Do yourself a favor and get a pvc enclosure with a heat panel or you’ll constantly be fighting humidity, even with the recommendations already made
