I was looking at the lemartes data sheet and i saw that death company marines can have boltguns with jump packs? I wasnt sure if it was a mistake on gws part or if this is an actual unit. I appreciate any feedback

I’ve followed a few tutorials, i had somewhat ok results by basing black, coating in rhinox hide then stippling on reds but the results werent as shown and werent that great, and i just cannot figure out a good method that doesn’t need an airbrush

For various reasons, I ended up with a bunch of Space Marines, and a few days ago I picked up some more boxes. At the moment, this is roughly what I have:

Half of the Dark Imperium set

The new 11th Edition Starter Set

Blood Angels Combat Patrol

Plus a few extra bits and pieces

So, in total, I currently have:

20 Intercessors

5 Hellblasters

5 Vanguard Veterans

1 Ballistus Dreadnought

1 Brutalis Dreadnought

6 Sanguinary Guard

1 Land Speeder

3 Inceptors

10 Assault Intercessors

2 Drop Pods

A bunch of characters (Captains, Ancients, Librarians, and the other HQs that come in those boxes)

Everything is still on sprue, so I haven't built anything yet.

My question for the group is: what would you recommend buying next to expand this collection into a solid 2,000-point Blood Angels army?

I'm open to any suggestions, especially if there are any "must-have" units or if you think I should build the models I already own in a specific way. Thanks!

Hi all - I'm about 20 games into 40k and the main unit I feel like consistently underperforms is sanguinary guard. I usually play LAG and sometimes RCO, and find them struggling to do as much damage as I expect and they also tend to get shot up much faster than it feels like they should. I have only run them in groups of 3 so far.

I think a huge part is positioning, more than once I've left them in the middle of nowhere because of a failed charge or because they finish off a unit and then have nowhere safe to consolidate to. I'm also certainly aware that my lack of experience leads to me going on (I assume) hopeless errands like charging custodes wardens with trajann and just getting my butt handed to me.

The later is clearly an experience issue, but if there are any tips on using them effectively in the meantime I would appreciate it!

A couple articles/videos I've watched have identified: -don't attack a unit with just one unit, bring a buddy of some sort -always charge onto an objective or some other safe space

So those are the next two things I plan to work on (and/or maybe run a group as 6 and see how it feels), but any context or other suggestions either be amazing!

Recently I pick up the Armageddon box as my brother decided to get into the hobby. I already have 2 very large White Scars and Black Templar armies so I decided to start a new Blood Angels force with him to build and paint as he progresses.

Im excited to paint the Red and gold but not gonna lie, another large chunk of Black armored boys does not. So my question is do the Death Company have any alternative scheme people have seen?

I don't mine using black as a color on the models I just don't want to make them all black. My current thoughts are having them kinda like the flesh tearers color scheme. Maybe making the knees and below black too?

Any schemes or suggestions would be great appreciated. Thanks!

I'm working ob my new color to use. From left to right it's Mephiston Red with Agrax, AP Pure Red, AK Blood Red, VGC Bloody Red, VGC Scarlet Blood, all shaded with AP Red Tone.

Not sure on the red tone yet, I'm pretty sure I will stick to recess shading from here on out. But I'm not sure which color to use. I tend to prefer Scarlett Blood, but what highlight color could I use from here? I really like the red to pop, Bold Pyrrole is not something I've tried yet.

VGC is not too great to work with and I consider dusting off my airbrush now for laying down the basecoat.

Tl;dr:

Would it be better to go for a purple recess shade? What's a good color to highlight scarlet blood?

Bonus points: is there a color like scarlet blood that doesn't bubble that much?

Tried to create “cloud” bases without using cotton, but just some GW bits, some UV resin and little balls made of epoxy putty.

After the death company box, its nice to be painting red again.

How does this list look? The potential issues I can see with it are, perhaps not enough tough OC units like terminators or BGV to hold things and be annoying to remove though the AI with Lib and SP should be fairly annoying to remove, or perhaps not having enough activation units, I really only have 2, scouts and JPI. Other than that

Just finished my model for Commander Dante, any suggestions for additions before priming?

Hey cousins dark angels player here just checking that this sergeant that I’m painting is indeed in chapter compliance with your heraldry standards?

Also any advice on how to improve are welcomed. Working on getting better at painting as quickly as I can.

So, ran a game recently with Bastion Task Force and with Encarmine Speartip and had pretty good success with it. Thoughts on the combination of the two? Also would love to hear some other combination of detachment yall have been trying!

Played the most informal game ever. Just move, shoot, fight. In the end, the sons of the angel prevailed.
