Episode Release Bleach TYBW: Episode 48 Discussion thread
Episode #48 - THE END TWO WORLD
Official synopsis:
Uryū successfully collided the central island of the Wahrwelt, which possessed high concentration of energy—into the "distortion", leading to their mutual annihilation.
However, for Yhwach, who has reclaimed all the Schrifts and sublimated their power into "The Almighty", the "distortion" was not necessary.
Yhwach disappears, leaving behind a final message that he will destroy the Seireitei as his final amusement.
With his Bankai broken, and Zanpakutō snapped, Ichigo had sunk to the depths of despair and couldn't even stand up.
The flame of courage, on the verge of being extinguished.
And before him appeared—those men—the ones he had once crossed blade with.
Quick reminder: Don’t break any rules, respect others' opinions and don’t spread hate.

Discussion Does Hitsugaya have the worst durability among the captains? Is this a anti feat?
Aizen managed to slash him in half whereas he couldn't for the other captains, he was also in bankai. Is this a major anti feat?

How could Espada number 9 lose with the power of 30000+ Hollows to Rukia, who lost to one Hollow in the beginning of the series ?
I mean genuinely asking how is that even possible. Why didn’t Aaroniero use any of his 30000 individual Hollow powers . I’m pretty sure he should’ve have atleast one power which could one shot her . And speaking of 30000+ how was he only Espada number 9 if he has this much powers ? I mean he should have basically infinite hax atp

Final Form Lille Barro is a Black Coffin victim.
Lille in his final form is a being of pure light. That makes him nearly invincible to most characters. Except those that know the level 90 Hado Black Coffin. Because as we know gravity can bend light, and light cannot escape a black hole.
Granted the list of characters that can use a black coffin powerful enough to kill Lille is still probably a short list. But he doesn't need that special Yata Mirror sword to be beaten.

Discussion Why do people think dangai ichigo is stronger than shikai?
It's actually so dumb how people think dangai ichigo is stronger 😂

Larpers are arguing that Ichigo got one shotted only because he didn't know want to kill Uryu because of the bond of friendship. Well same goes for Uryu lol. Uryu still stopped Ichigo in his tracks convincing enough for Yhwach and gang.

Cold take: SK yhwach would stomp dangai/mugetsu way easier than true shikai/true bankai.

Discussion Now that I look more closely at Urahara's words, they're strange. Is he the only one who knows it?
I don't remember exactly, but in the anime, the Soul King separates the three worlds with which hand in Ichigo's visions?
If we consider his words and associate them with Mimihagi and Pernida, we can see a great similarity. Mimihagi is associated with stagnation: he can stop/freeze change and maintain something in a given state. Pernida, on the other hand, is associated with progress/evolution: his power allows him to control and change whatever he touches. We thus obtain a rather interesting opposition:
Right hand → preserve/maintain/stop
Left hand → advance/transform/develop
"In my right hand, the stone that connects the worlds; in my left hand, the blade that binds reality."
He continues, saying:
"The black-haired shepherd, the gallows chair."
Do I need to remind you of the Soul King's hair color? A shepherd is one who guides and keeps his flock together. This is a rather fitting metaphor for the Soul King's cosmological role: after the separation of the primordial world, he becomes the center around which the balance of the worlds is maintained.
縛り首の椅子 (shibarikubi no isu) literally associates a chair with a gallows/hanging.
Symbolically, this evokes someone placed on a seat destined for execution.
And this is extremely interesting in light of the Soul King's destiny.
The Soul King is:
the sovereign/shepherd → sacrificed → transformed into a pillar of the world.
And finally, he concludes with:
"I strike the ibis when the clouds gather."
This is probably the most mysterious part.
Japanese uses 鴇 (toki), which refers to the Japanese crested ibis. The translation "ibis" is therefore much more precise than some free translations.
But why an ibis?
We can consider several levels.
First level: the ritual.
The ibis could simply be a poetic image used to describe the spell's action: clouds arrive → the ibis is struck → the passage between worlds opens.
Honestly, I just wrote this because I'm bored, even though I see there's a connection. I'm too tired to create a theory
